Desmond~~

I looked at claire, my face slowly becoming more serious by the second, "Somethings not right. There's no smell of burning, but there's a definite stench of sulfur in the air."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

I shrugged, my mind going over all of the old history books I'd read, "But many ancient cultures believed that demons had a sulfuric smell, which is ridiculous, because demons don't exist. So that's not it, but there is no reason there should be sulfur here. There aren't even any major factories in the city!"

she gave me a strange look, so I amended my statement, "I read a lot."

We are all in the corridors because someone rang the fire alarm, And in that moment we are suspecting the presence of demons in the school-meaning the kids think the demons are hter because they are feelin them.
And Farrow, Farrow is with claire and some other friends: Jazz, Desmond, Maya, and I think Julia and Jem

Donald ~ Secretive ~ Invisibility ~ Fire Drill

It was an awful sensation, almost like somthing was skimming the surface of his flesh and exhausting the heat. It felt cold, so dreadfully cold. Something wasn't right. Don looked at Helen, the strange, quiet, unusual girl who had looked at him today and sought him out today and he knew that hadn't been a consequence. The lights. Oh for the love of Pancakes, the lights!

"I sure do," Don said in response to the question. The hall around them had emptied, it was strangely quiet, the sounds of screams sounding distant as though they were in a bubble of calm. Except it didn't feel calm. It was chaotic and there was something coming through the wall sending plaster and masonry scooting out of the way. It wasn't that the creature was breaking through the wall, it was the wall that was breaking away from the creature in fright. What was it? Donald didn't want to stick around and find out, he valued his life too much dismal though it might be.

"Come on!" Donald grabbed Helen's hand and started running. He wanted to be where other students were, safe in the comfort of having other humans around to distract the monster and mask their scent. Mask their scent? Well it was after them, it had to be! He just felt it. They were different. Or hell, he was anyway and he was having a hard time controlling it, even now he knew he wasn't visible but he held tight to the girl and tried to lead her through. There was something different about her too... there had to be.

((I'm a bit lost. Basically, everyone's outside except Don and Helen? And we're waiting for someone to write demons in? Well, if the demon's inside, I guess I'm going to get Jem back inside. Or do you guys want to bring the demon out?

Also, Julia's invited everyone to her house tonight. If we don't have a major fight with the demon, we could go over there. Or maybe flee over there, to stop everyone asking questions... I'm just thinking as I type.))

Jem. Easily depressed. Weather manipulation.

Julia turned on her heels and Jem watched as she walked away, back into the building. The screams had softened now, though they weren't silenced; more students were outside, and nobody would have had the guts to go back in. Even as Julia walked towards the school, people stared, and Jem wondered what was going through her head. Was she being brave, or didn't any of this bother her?

"Somethings not right. There's no smell of burning, but there's a definite stench of sulfur in the air." It was the guy, Desmond, who'd spoken.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Claire's voice rose in pitch.

"Many ancient cultures believed that demons had a sulfuric smell, which is ridiculous, because demons don't exist. So that's not it, but there is no reason there should be sulfur here. There aren't even any major factories in the city!"

Jem blinked a couple of times. Demons? Were they all... insane? Insane. That was it. They were insane, and she could control - nothing. What could she control? Jem's thoughts came in little bursts of denial, acceptance, and panic. She floated into her own world as the wind picked up around her, lifting her still damp hair from her shoulders.

Julia had disappeared into the building now, and the students had begun to talk. There was no more screaming. Jem scanned the crowd for teachers, for someone who'd be able to explain, but there were only frightened teenagers.

Before she knew it, she was walking forward, walking after Julia to get into that building. Whatever was happening, it wasn't happening out here, and whether Jem ended up screaming or not, she'd rather not live and never know what was in there.

Plus, she still couldn't see Don.

((Methinks Jem has a crush. Unrequitted okay with you, Kitty15? I think it could be interesting with jealousy and all that later on.))

***OK, I'll post about a demon. Is it ok if a I post an image as well, I mean an image of the demon****

Claire-Happy ONe-Power Negation
The small was getting worse, it almost suffocated me. It was as if the whole building around me was burning with us inside. I could hardly breath, I grabbed Desmond's hand with all my strenght to keep from falling down. MY breathing was slow and difficult.
"Claire, Claire what's wrong?"I heard Farrow aske me.
"I-I'm ok" But I could not breathe. "It's them, I know its them, they killed my sister"
I said to them, it was them the demons.
And all of a sudden a cold sensation mixed with the awful sulfur smell appeared in the atmosphere. It was awfully cold and a sound, a strange sound appeared in the background, something like a loud whisper. But it wasn't one but many, hissing everywhere,a small very soft sound of screaming, not human of course.
Adn then the east wall of the building was shattered by an invisible force. The smoke and sulfur filled the air. And I could not hold it anymore, whatever I had had been inflicted on me. So I grabbed all the strenght I had left and created a shield around me, trying to stop whatever power has been on me. Yes, it was something tht had been inflicted on me, I felt better once I created the shield.
The ruins of the east building createda thick wall of dust and fire and smoke. BUt through the fire and the smoke, I saw it. There it was, with its black cloak and long body. Its hands larger thatn they should be. THeir faces were covered and thir thin frame was barely regognizabe but yer, it was them. The demons.

Helen- quiet- technopath

She stared at the wall breaking apart, eyes wide with fear. She took a step back.

Suddenly all the lights in the hall flared up extremely bright and burst. You could hear electric pencil sharpeners and vending machines whirring all the way down the hall. Water began seeping out from under the bathroom door.

Helen cursed silently and tried to pull her powers under control. This was not her day.

"Come on!" Don yelled. She felt him grab her arm and begin pulling her down the hall.

"Sorry, I'm sorry," Helen said in a panic. It seemed when ever she was stressed, she started apologizing. "I should have been-" Suddenly she gasped. "D-don? Are you still there?" Was he...? Could he possibly have...?

Claie-Happy One-Power Negation

Yes, It was them, the demons. I saw them clearly now. Their long dark faces and scarlet eyes, coming toward us, they had no pupil. Tehir arms longer than they should be, but were covered by the black cloaks they were wearing. Although, their long nails were really prominent. Their thin bodies were actually only bones because their was no flesh only bones and burned skin on them. Their bald head had a strange sign on them, but I knew I saw it when they killed my sister. Their faces were burned as well, with their eyes deep into their sockets, they actually seemed as a skull, not skin, no muscles, no flesh.

Jem. Easily depressed. Weather manipulation.

For reasons unknown to her, Jem began to run. Her shoes pounded the corridors as she sprinted towards her locker, where she'd last seen that guy - Don. She could have tried to find Julia, she reflected, but the thought only crossed her mind when she reached her corridor.

It was a state. There was water creeping out from under the bathroom door, and the lights were all blown. Electricity crackled in the air around Jem. And in the centre of it all was the girl who'd been with Don, turning in circles, calling out his name.

"Don! Don!"

Jem was next to her in seconds. "Where is he? I mean, Don? I saw him earlier, I thought -"

"He just... Who are you?" She suddenly looked confused.

"Um, Jem. I'm Jem. Look, I think we should, um - go." Jem's confidence began to falter, and she could feel herself retreating into shyness. "You don't have to... I mean..."

It was then that the screams began again, from the front of the school, from the direction Jem had come from.

"If he's not here, he must be out there," she whispered, speaking aloud, and grabbed the girl by the wrist. Not that she cared where Don was, she just wanted some air, right? That was right. "Okay, now you're coming. I'm going to go figure out what the hell's going on."

Des~~

I found myself unable to breath for a second as the stench of sulfer and the general feel of something evil washed over me. but then my brain went into overdrive coming up with a plain instantly.

I spoke fast, my words running together, "I want those of you who can fight to come with me, and those who cant to get everyone you can out of here as fast as possible by whatever means necessary. I'll try and help, but I can;t do it all. I don't know what's going on, but I;m pretty sure we just passed the realm of ordinary."

Then I ran off, not even checking to see if anyone had followed me. I pushed through the crowd till I came to the doors. A couple of people folowed me inside, "Get behind something. This is going to be loud."

I touched the wall and focused. In my mind I imagined each tiny particle charged with intense energy but being held back. The wall began to quiver underneath my palm, then I released it. There was a boom and the wall exploded, sending concrete and dust in to the air. Screams resounded from all of the panicking students and they began to run. It didn't even occur to me that I had just shown the world I was a freak.

Donald ~ Secretive ~ Invisibility

Somehow in the confusion Donald found some scrap of self preservation and instead of shouting out that he was indeed there, he loosed her hand and stood sadly beside her in the hallway. But she didn't keep running! She stopped and floundered and called his name. 'Just keep going,' Don begged silently. 'Don't worry about me.' And he would have left but, aw hell, he felt responsible for her now.

Fortunately good, sensible Jem showed up. Don was going to call a greeting but that self preservation kicked in again and he really didn't know who he could trust so he wasn't about to shout, 'Hey look! I'm invisible, would you look at that?' Only Farrow knew because he'd happened to witness it one time and Donald couldn't have convinced him he was seeing things no matter what.

Keeping pace just behind the girls, Donald wondered how long it would be before he got this power under control. He didn't think he could put up with it much longer.

"Something's following us!" Helen panicked. Awwww man.

Jem. Easily depressed. Weather manipulation.

"Something's following us!"

Before Jem could reply, she felt a hand on her wrist, pulling her and then Helen to the ground. A split second later the doors at the other end of the corridor exploded with a deafening boom, sending shards of concrete and glass flying over their heads. When Jem felt it safe to look up, dust had clouded the entrance, and she could see only shadowy figures on the other side. Voices floated through, and she recognised Desmond's. He was beckoning some others inside.

Jem suddenly noticed that Don was beside her again. Had it been him who'd pulled her to the ground? Maybe he did get outside, then, and had come to warn them. How had he gotten there so fast?

Jem's mouth was dry and she didn't reply to Don's nodded greeting. Desmond was coming towards them now, followed by some more figures, still clouded by the dust. When he saw Don, he ran towards them.

"I don't have time to explain, but I need to know if you can fight."

Helen- quiet- technopath

Helen wanted to demand what was going on. She wanted to know what Don had done, to figure out if he was indeed gifted like she was, but now wasn't the time.

"It depends. Is there any heavy machinery around?"

Jem, Don, and Desmond glanced at her oddly.

Helen shrugged. "If there's something big, dangerous, and technological around, I can fight." Suddenly she looked thoughtful. "I wonder, would it work on cars?"

"Would what work on cars?" Jem asked. Don's eyes widened in comprehension.

"No time to explain, I'm only thinking out loud."

((Sorry to post back-to-back, but I think this needs a bit of a kickstart. We're sort of chugging along at the moment. There are people who aren't posting, too... PMs in order?))

Jem. Easily depressed. Weather manipulation.

"... I'm only thinking out loud."

Helen's comment about technology left Jem puzzled, but she hadn't yet answered Desmond's question herself. Could she fight? No. What could she do? Yet she felt something compelling her to speak.

"No, I can't fight. But I'll come. Maybe I can help somehow?" Her voice shook a little, and she turned red as Des and Helen exchanged a look. Something passed between them, a sort of understanding, and Jem was caught between embarrassment and anger.

More of the figures were emerging from the dust. Jem recognised all of the crowd from earlier: Claire, Farrow, Maya, and Jazz, if she remembered correctly. Julia, of course, was missing.

"Look, erm..." Desmond faltered and Jem realised he'd forgotten her name. "I don't think you want to go where we're going, especially if you can't... fight. Just go with the other students, okay? Get out."

Jem nodded, looking down so they didn't see her face, blushing deeper and deeper by the moment. She began to mutter curses at her own stupidity: thinking she could go along with them all and be part of whatever they were going to do. Stupid. Don exchanged words with Desmond quickly and easily, and Jem didn't even hear them. She only looked up when the group had turned their backs, leaving her alone, once again, in the corridor.
