He is being watched.
The old man can feel the stares of the wary parents, but he cannot look up and meet their frightened gaze. His head is bowed, watching his pale hands trail through the cool, translucent water. A mark upon their foreheads, he thinks. One mark sketched with the cleansing water which soothes my trembling hands. That is all.
But it is too much.
A tear glistens as it slides down his wrinkled cheek. He reminds himself hastily that it is for the good of them all. His sacrifice should save everybody. There are no individuals, not in the face of such a threat. His role shall soon be over, forgotten. Even though he is to give his life.
A baby starts to cry, shrill screams that slice through the old man, rattling his fragile bones. The parent frantically starts to shush it, rocking back and forth. Still the baby screams.
It’s as if it knows, thinks the old man. As if it is aware its destiny is being decided for it. Hush, little one, I give my life for you and those who sleep in their parents’ arms. I give you my life so that you may continue the battle, and perhaps win.
The man becomes aware the water around his hands is warm. With a small gulp, he meets the eyes of one of the parents.
He is ready.

Ten friends. Ten personalities. Ten powers.
For a long, long, long, long, long, long time there has been a battle between the Hasterians (what the old man and the characters are) and the demons. Hasterians are special; they have abilities which help them defeat the demons. The demons use the shadows to enter our world. They don't want to take over the world they just enjoy human flesh. It's the Hasterians' job to stop them and kill them, but the old man was the last and sacrificed himself so the Hasterians would live on - in the group of ten friends. The demons are rising again, and soon they will swarm. It's not only the demons which have awoken; the characters' powers no longer lay dormant. Together, the ten friends must become aware of their heritage and protect the humans from the ravenous demons. ^^

~ No absolutely wonderful, god-like characters. Keep it as close to real life as possible ... with all the demons and powers and stuff...
~ No sex! Romance, but don't get graphic.
~ Not too much swearing... I don't want second languages here..
~ Only ONE character allowed per person. But if the other spaces don't go then maybe you could take two.

Yeah, I'm having the tough one with the ability to destroy anything. Can't post profiles at the moment, but will later. Oh yeah, can we keep ages close? Within three years. Cause we ca't have a six year old or anything..

The ? one: Quick to Anger One

Power: Energy Sourcing. He can take kinetic energy from an object and transfer it either to himself or to another object. Ill get into more specifics later on.

Appearance: About average height, but with a muscular build. Has messy auburn hair that he keeps relatively short. Always looks like he just got out of bed. His eyes are a dark brown and his skin is lightly tanned.

Personality (to go a bit more in-depth): He has a quick temper, but it is selective. He cares nothing of himself, or any jest made towards him, but he cares about other people. When something will negatively effect someone he knows he gets mad, especially if its his fault. He is generally calm, but his anger can be triggered by certain actions (I don't really know how to word it, but he doesn't get angry for himself, he does it for other people)

History: Nothing different, just lives an average life. Except for one day. When he was twelve he saw a kid playing in the road and a large truck was driving towards the kid. Matt didn't do anything, he just watched, as the kid was ran over. Thats why he has such a short temper. Because he didn't help that kid, he now gets angry whenever he can't help someone else.

Personality (to go a bit more in-depth):Very happy, the one that is always smiling. She likes making other people happy. She likes hanging out with her friends as well as dancing, reading and music. She can't stand sadness so she always finds a way to make other people smile, and is almost always succesful. She is very determined, whatever she wants she accomplishes it. YOu'll almost alwyas find her smiling (98% of the time). She has a pretty smile.

History:she discovered her power when she was nine years old. At first her parents freaked out and sent her to a mental hospital where she was kept alone in a closed room with no windows and no visits allowed. Eventually her parents discovered that instead of being crazy or a freak, she was a special kid, and would help to defeat the demons that had killed her older sister. She got out and despite all she suffered in that place she is happy and likes helping others. She spent four years in that place.

Other: Totally up for love and will develop a crush (maybe Farrow)

Power: Shape-shifter

Appearance: She has thick, wavy hair the colour of burnt sienna, she has high elegant cheekbones, sharp features and thin lips usually set in a frown or a tightly pursed line. She is about 5'8'' and slender, a pale complexion and deep blue-violet eyes with pin-pricks of black. She doesn't look unpleasant, but the type you'd want to cross. She looks very serious and rarely smiles. When she does it's a sardonic smile or a slight sneer. She wears jean shorts, various tank tops and various foot wear. Her hair is worn in a tight ponytail or it just hangs loose.

Personality (to go a bit more in-depth): She is defiant, tough (not as tough as "the tough one...whatever.) and very stubborn. She is an excellent actor and usually can bribe people into giving her what she wants. She is pretty down to earth, but can fake flamboyance with ease. She is an amazing liar, she could fool even the most technologically advanced lie test. So really, she doesn't have a very easily identified personality. You can see though, that she's hiding and controlling a lot of her true emotions.

History: The demons tore her family apart and leaving only her and her brother who was obsessed with vengeance. When she discovered her power she kept trying to tell him she could help, but he ignored her and one day, she found him gone. He left a note telling her he had gone to fight the demons and to be good. Distraught and angry she tried to follow him and only found that he had been destroyed by the demons. She's the only survivor in her entire family and has learned how to live on her own.

Other: Up for love, good at hand to hand combat.

Appearance: Dark skin and electric blue eyes. His hair is cropped back on his head and he permanently wears a News Boy Cap (as below) He's medium height and wears off clothed old fashioned clothes.



Personality (to go a bit more in-depth): He's never been an average teenager and always feels more comfortable around the company of girls. He's friendly and is always ready to listen but sometimes he gets to absorbed in his imagination to react to the real world. He is constantly absorbed with creating objects of his imagination. He imagines himself as an artist, though he daren't tell anyone so.

History: He lived with his dad and his younger sister until age 9, when he discovered his drawings and writings come to life. He's lived in a fantasy of his creations since then. Only recently was he forced out of his bubble. He's still adjusting to reality.

Other:Although Farrow prefers the company of girls, he isn't gay as some might assume but is often hurt by this assumption. He has a small crush on Claire.

Power: Telekinesis

Appearance: Picture. Zacharie has short, dirty-blond hair and deep chocolate brown eyes with small flecks of gold. He is tanned, slim and of average height for his age. His clothing is usually casual but nice, never anything too fancy. He is considered handsome, but is not vain or arrogant about it.

Personality: Zacharie is very fun-loving and mischievous. He isn't afraid of getting in trouble with the authorities or his elders, which makes his jokes all the better (or worse, depending on whether or not you've been pranked). He is playful but can act mature and serious when he needs to. He isn't afraid to use his power to prank other people and takes no greater joy than being able to see their reaction. He isn't easy to depress but he's had his fair share of grief before.

History: Zacharie, called Jazz by his friends and family, was born in Orleans, France. He discovered his power at the age of twelve after causing his alarm clock to crash into the wall one morning without so much as laying a finger on it. His immediate family and those few others who knows about his power accept him for it and see it as a gift and not a curse. Zacharie himself loves to use it whenever possible, but is careful not to draw attention to himself. His father died when Zacharie was fourteen in a car accident, and while he mourned his father for nearly a year, he has managed to move on. Zacharie earned his nickname, Jazz, for the types of music he listens to which, coincidentally, is jazz.

Other: Up for love. Also, Zacharie does not like boats or anything relating to open water, and will absolutely refuse to swim in an ocean or lake unless he has no other choice.
