YWS Re-Opens!

What I'm going to do with that is purge deleted blog entries about once a week. So if you delete something you didn't mean to (or simply change your mind), you should have plenty of time to undelete it.

Apparently, those with moderating powers are the only ones who can access the css modifications for the blogs. The regular users/instructors/greeters can't. Kind of sad.

Also Nate, you should change your signature.

Great job, Nate - the new YWS rocks!

Just a couple of questions though ^^

1 - On "My Settings" every time I try to change ANYTHING it says "The value you have entered is too long" What does this mean and how can I fix it??

2 - How can I edit my biography? It really needs some work, but I can't seem to find a place to edit it.

3 - How can I access my Portfolio so I can see pageviews, new posts, etc??

4 - How can I add a rating to my work (eg PG-13, R...)?

Blogs: yeees, currently regular members don't have the option to edit CSS for their blog. I love CSS - it'll be fun to find out exactly how much I can change!

I seem to be getting blank e-mails sometimes from YWS. I get my alerts about new private messages and whatnot, but then I also have gotten at least four or five blank emails from yws.webmaster@gmail.com with no subject and no body.

All in all, though, I think things are running pretty smoothly. It's not like all our data didn't transfer over or something. *knocks on wood* Just imagine how much of a nightmare that would have been.

Just changed the CSS settings on blogs! Thanks Bob for pointing that out; I didn't realize it was disabled.

I have no idea why blank e-mails are being sent out. I'm going to look at it after my first class today to figure out why as it's a serious problem.

Hey, Nate, I was just wondering why it took me three times to be able to post this. I got to the forum but when I hit reply (there was not quickreply) the screen took me back to the login where I had to relogin and come all the way back. Time after time. I think it's better but I was wondering if it was something I did or the site.

Aggh, you're probably inundated with these already, but I have to ask why I can't send PMs.

And this is more a personal thing than anything, but I quite liked that feature on the old forum which displayed above a thread every other thread related to it (is this making sense...). It was convenient, but I can live without it... *shrug*

And (no hurry, no pressure, I swear), when are we going to be able to see review counts again?

If it's not here yet, it's most likely on its way. Just be patient.

This is just a guess, but I think blank emails could have something to do with the blogs. Because I get them too, and I've ticked the option that says alert me via email when I get a blog comment. I've had two new comments on my blog, and today I got two blank emails. Perhaps those emails are meant to tell me about my blog comments?

I'm pretty sure everyone can send PMs; you just may not know how to. When you go to Compose a Message, you have to type someone's name into the "To" box, then hit 'Add.' It's more cumbersome than the old YWS, but it enables you to send a PM to more than one person.

Since there seems to be a lot of confusion around this, I'll see into making a detailed FAQ sheet.

I just tried to send a sort've lengthy PM to someone and when I clicked "submit" it did absolutly nothing. And I sent one to myself that was short (1 word) and it still didn't go. That and I couldn't put in any smilies.

Do I have to do something differant?
