War of the Tsurekin

Skylar fought the red she felt coming up her neck. "Yeah, it's was boring around here." She shrugged.

"You wouldn't know, we never stayed here." Tala replied. Skylar bit her lip as she felt her cheeks get back to normal.

"Did you miss being around us, or was the silence nice?" She asked looking at Kai.

"It was nice to have some peace and quiet for a change, but it did get a little lonely up there," Kai said. "I guess I missed everybody, too."

"Sky was the one who missed you the most," Tala said.

Skylar spun her head around to glare at the wolf. She did not want Kai to hear that.

Kai looked at Skylar and asked, "Why's that?"

Skylar felt her cheeks heat up. She was going to kill Tala later. She shrugged, "I-I got used to you being around all the time." She replied running a hand through her hair and then fiddling with the shirt in her lap.

"Whatever, sh...." Tala started. Skylar kicked sand at her and frowned.

"Shut up, Tala." She growled. She felt her stomach twist, Kai probably knew what Tala was going to say. She felt her heart race, what would he say, would he hate her? She chewed on the inside of her lip as she looked out over the ocean. She should've stayed running.

Kai seemed to think for a while, not sure of what to say. But after a while, he turned to her and smiled. "I like you, too, Skylar."

Now it was Skylar's turn to be shocked. She stared at him for a few moments before saying, "You what?"

Before Kai could explain, the frisbee that Ceder and Elise were playing with flew over and smacked him in the head. A moment later they heard Ceder shout, "Heads up!"

"Little late!" Skylar yelled back looking at Kai. "You ok?" He rubbed his head and nodded.

"I'm fine." He replied. The skin was starting to get red and she frowned.

"You sure, cause he through they pretty hard." She repleid.

"You ok, man?" Ceder asked running over and grabbing the frisbee then looking at Kai. "I didn't mean to hit you. I kinda wasn't paying attention when I through it that time."

"I'm fine." Kai replied with a smile. "Really."

"Alright, sorry." Ceder turned and ran back and threw the frisbee again.

Kai rubbed his head one more time before saying, "Well, I think I'm going to go for a swim." He got up and ran off into the water, leaving Skylar to think about what he said.

He likes me. Her face started to get red again.


(Man, my thinker box just doesn't want to work this morning.)

Skylar ran a hand over her face. What now? She looked at Tala closed her eyes laying her head on the sand as if she was going to fall asleep.

"Go." Tala said without opening her eyes. "Have some fun without thinking for once in your life."

"I'm sure he wouldn't mind company." Ryukin replied looking over at her. She felt her cheeks warm up again and she sighed.

"No one is on my side." She sighed.

"Cause even you aren't on your side." Tala replied. Skylar had to admit she was right. She pulled her shorts off so she just had her swim suit on and then she walked to the water before getting in and letting the water seep into her skin.

(Just one question before I post, do you want Kai and Skylar to do anything else, or would you like to do a time jump and get them back home?)

(Well, I can't really think of anything else to write at this point, so let's do the time jump ahead one week.)


They had finished yet another day of training. Ever since they got back from the beach house, Ivy had been training them even longer each day. Ever since he went up into the mountains, Kai and Ryukin's fighting style had changed. Instead of having Ryukin fight while Kai stood back and gave him orders, they both fought side by side. The first person he sparred with since coming back to the mansion was Ceder. It took him completely by surprise when both him and Ryukin rushed up to attack. The benefit to this, however, was by sparring with them the others started to learn to defend themselves without the aid of their Tsurekin, in case the enemy ever tried something like that in a real fight.

As for Skylar, even after a week had passed she still felt a little awkward around Kai. He had told her he liked her, but hadn't really said anything else about it since then. She wanted to talk to him about it, but whenever she tried she got nervous and ended up chickening out. It was the first time a boy had ever said he liked her, so she didn't know what she was supposed to do.


(You want to have Skylar go to Elise for advice?)

Skylar watched everyone sparing, she'd already finished her round with Ty.

"Whats wrong?" Elise asked in a lowered voice.

"I'm confussed out of my mind." She admitted.

"Want to talk about it?"

"Later."

Later they were sitting in Skylar's room while Elise painted her nails. "It's Kai, I just can't figure out what about him." Elise smiled.

"You're to good." Skylar laughed.

"I know things." Elise smiled. "Whats going on." Skylar told her what had happened on the beach.

"Now I don't know what to think and I'm nervous all the time around him now." Skylar sighed.

(We can also start working on Shigure and Ty's relationship on the side. You can be Ty and I'll control Shigure.)


"I knew he liked you," Elise said, smiling.

"But what am I supposed to do?" Skylar asked.

"Tell him exactly how you feel," she said.

"I've tried, but whenever I get close to him I get too nervous and chicken out."

"If that's the case, I'll help you."

Shigure was in they foyer with Kaeru, looking at some of Ivy's artifacts. As far as she knew, everyone else was relaxing in the game room. She didn't feel like hanging out with them right now.

After a few minutes, she frowned and said, "I know you're there, Ty."

Ty and his Tsurekin, Quincy, came out from behind one of the statues. "How do you always know when I'm sneaking up on you?" he asked.

"My ears are trained to hear a pin drop in another room, there's nothing that escapes my notice."

As they approached, Quincy and Kaeru started glaring at each other. "Hello, frog," Quincy said.

"Hello, snake," the frog replied.

"I wonder why they don't like each other?" Ty said.

"Snakes and frogs are born enemies, it's no surprise that see each other that way as well." Shigure turned to Ty and asked, "You must have a reason for trying to sneak up on me."

"I don't need to sneak, I just do it for fun. I can't tell you how fun it is to sneak up on someone here and scare the living daylights out of them," Ty smiled. "But you're right, I do have something I want to ask."

"Well, what is it?"

"Will you go out with me?"


(By the way, Elise's plan to help Skylar will be to lock her and Kai in a room together until she tells him how she feels. Of course, she's not going to tell Skylar what her plan is.)

***OK, and what does Shigure say?***

Skylar ran a hand over her face as she thought. "WHen is this plan going to happen?"

"In time." Elise smiled. "I'll let you know when it happens."

"Of course."

Ty waited as he looked at her standing still like he always did. He kept his eyes locked on her's waiting for her answer.

Shigure stared at him for a few more moments. Although her face was emotionless, inside she was confused. She didn't know what to think, it was the first time a boy ever asked her out. They were usually scared away by her cold personality and the fact that she could beat them into a bloody pulp if she felt like it. And here was Ty, suddenly asking her out.

Ty smiled. "You're blushing."

Shigure flinched at the comment. She turned to face away from him to hide her embarrassment. She actually had to struggle to keep her voice straight. "W-why would I want to do that?"

"It'll be fun," he said. "You don't get out of the mansion very often, so I thought I'd take you to the carnival that's opened up for the week downtown. Besides, you hardly tell us anything about you, it'll be a good chance to get to know each other better."

"So, you're planning to interrogate me, is that it?" she asked, again fighting to keep her voice steady.

Ty laughed. "You're way too uptight, Shigure. I'll come get you tomorrow night at eight."

Shigure spun around to face him. She started to say, "Wait, I never said I'd-" but Ty was already running off before she could finish.

Later that night Elise was leading Skylar down one of the mansion's many hallways.

"Where are we going?" Skylar asked.

"You'll see," Elise answered.

"Can't you at least tell me what your plan is?"

"You'll find out soon enough." Skylar didn't like the sound of that. The only reason she could think of as to why Elise wouldn't tell her is she knew she wouldn't like it. Elise stopped in front of a vacant room and said, "Here we are. You first."

Skylar sighed as she stepped through the door. She froze when she saw Kai standing at the on the other side of the room. She suddenly became very nervous and felt the urge to run out of the room, but before she could even turn around the door slammed behind her.

"I'm not letting you out until you tell him!" Elise called from the other side.

Ty smiled to himself as he walked back to his room and laid down looking up at the ceiling. That girl was just, enticing in a way. He closed his eyes as he fell asleep.


*oy, I'm 18!!!!!!!*

Skylar stared at the door her cheeks flaming red.

"Whats going on?" Kai asked walking over as he looked at her then the door. "Elise, you know I could break this door."

"I know." Elise replied. "But I'm standing right in front of it so you'll hurt me if you do."

"Elise is just being crazy." Skylar said sitting on a chair she found.

"AM NOT!" Elise yelled. "Your stuck in there until you tell him!"

"Tell me what?" Kai asked looking at Skylar who felt her cheeks flame up even more.
