I sat down on Adas bed.

"I don't know. I ate a bit. Now... I dunno. Something is missing. What..."

"Your powers are weakened. That's it."

"Oh..." I looked at my fingertips.

"Whats your gift anyway?"

"I control water. it doesn't matter what it is or is in. As long as there's enough water, I can control it."

"Wow. So you could also control... I dunno... The air in the rainforest? A cloud?"

"Yeah. If there's enough water..." I answered staring at my converse now. "Whats your gift?"

*Sry its so short. I'm so tired...*

"What's your gift?" Ephraim asked.

I looked to my hands and sighed.

"I'm sorry, you don't have to talk about it." he said.

I looked back at him. "No, it's fine. I've just been here so long, it's hard to remember."

"Oh." he said.

"But, I do remember. I don't think I could ever forget completely." I added in quickly.

He watched me expectantly.

"I could control fire, and see the future. Neither were extremely powerful, I inherited them from my parents." I explained. "When you have one power, it's hard enough to gain full control of it, let alone if you have two powers."

Ephraim was quiet for a minute. "So your parents are here too?"

My gaze fell back to my hands. "No...I'd rather not talk about it."

We were both silent for a while. I sort of hoped he would just leave, remembering my parents always made me emotional. Those memories brought back the feelings I had when I was first sent here. Anger, saddness, and the need to break free. I was also trusting then, observant, I cared what would happen to me. I hardly cared about anything anymore.

Ephraim noticed the different emotions playing across my face. "I'll go." he said.

I didn't say anything as he got up and slipped back into the hallway. When the door was opened I could hear the shouts and confusion of the new arrivals. The door closed again and there was only silence. I threw my tray across the room and it smashed against the wall, I then buried my face in my pillow and tried to sleep.

"Nurse, check your not too fried." Said the woman guard coldly.
"Fried?" I laughed. "Thats an understatement. You people tried to frigging electrocute me!"
"Your shocker is a little strong thanks to your ... illness."
"Illness? What are you? We are not diseased! We are people. Most of us are children. You can't do this!"
"We can and we have now shut it. Anymore talk like that and i'll fry you. And don't even think of trying to escape. It would be my pleasure to blast you to smytherines."
"You have a power two? Then you understand! Were not ill. We are gifted, but that doesn't make us dangerous."
"Just shut up!" She smacked my head off the wall before pushing me through the door to the nurse. "Here's one for you. Make sure he's not broken and get him back to his room." And with that she was gone. A nurse wondered in and gave me a once over before some other more invasive and embarassing tests.
"Ok you should be alright. Want me to call you an escort?"
"No i should be alright." When she turned around i layed my hand on the steel tray. The colour crept up my arm and over my body making me a true man of steel. I ducked out the door way before my change could be spotted and headed for my room.

Aylen-

All through the assembly, I leaned against the back wall of the room we were in. I had no desire whatsoever to sit, and no one in that room was going to try to make me.

The assembly itself was terribly boring, but getting out, however, was hectic. I dodged kid after kid as I made my way to the back door. I finally got out and made my way towards my building when the guard from earlier, a clumsy young man named Kevin Maxwell, stormed past me.

"Kevin!" I called to him. He froze and cringed when he heard me, like he was scared to turn around. 'Perfect. As you should be.' I thought to myself.

He turned slowly. "56--" He stopped immediately. I didn't even have to glare at him. He knew it was inevitable. "Er...I mean..uh..Aylen!" I smiled. "How did you like the assembly?" He asked.

"It was boring as all hell, of course. A cure," I muttered with disgust. "What does he think this is? A hospital? We're not sick..." I growled.

"It's for everyone's good," he told me.

I turned to him quickly, my normally aqua eyes now on fire. "Everyone's good!" I shouted. "What, you think we're going to be criminals?! Maybe some of us are proud to have these powers! Maybe some of us want to keep our powers!"

"Well, it's like I told you, it's not your--"

I cut him off. "Yes, Kevin, it is my decision!" I spat at him when I said his name. "It's my life, my choice! And if I want to live it like a freak, let me do it!"

With that, I shoved him out of the way and hurried to my building and quickly up to my room. I was in such a rush and too blinded by my fury to see a boy in front of me and I ran straight into him.

"So sorry!" I exclaimed.

He laughed. "No harm done," he told me with a half-hearted smile. His eyes were sad, but his face showed a little warmth and a hint of playfulness. "I'm Ephraim."

I smiled back. "Aylen."

Cappy~

I was a bit lost the halls looked diffrent with out people. I looked over to see the guy I was looking for. . .but he didn't look normal. It took me a moment to relize he was covered in metal.

"Hey wait!" i hissed as I ran to catch up eith him. He gave me a strange look, almost like a mean glare.

"What?" he asked a bit unhappily.

"Your right." I whispered bluntly. He gave me a cnfused look "About escaping. I want to get out of here."

His expression changed from a confused to a some what happy look. "So I'm not alone on that?" he asked.

Before I could repley a large garud spoted us. "Hey get to your rooms!" he gripped.

"Come on." I whispered as I grabed his cold metal hand and lead him to my room where we couldn't be heard.

(sorry if it's not good just wanted to bring Cappy in)

Erome sat on the edge of a simple bed with her face buried in her hands. She had seen the empty prisoner's room and had ducked in, needing a moment to herself. Only half of the rooms in the Asylum were occupied; there was plenty of room for more.

Erome squeezed her eyes shut, fighting to regain control of herself. She lost. Peter's serene face appeared in her mind and his voice washed over her.

Rebbecca, I want to show you something; something amazing.

Dammit, dammit. You're Erome, not Rebbecca. Rebbecca's dead. Peter killed her. She's gone. Gone, dammit.

She thought she was over her past now. She thought it was all under control; locked safely away in the back of her mind. She didn't think Peter's voice would resound in her mind again, not after so long...

Look what I can do.

She gritted her teeth. Stop it, stop it, stop it. Peter was dead. Dead. Like weak, little Rebbecca. Erome was not weak. Not weak, not weak, not weak...

She thought it over and over again, as if she thought it enough it would suddenly come true.

Peter's face changed, melted into the prisoner's.

You have a power too?

Damn right she had a power. Damn right she was another freak. Why had she let that slip? She didn't want them to know. She didn't want them to think they had an ally in the other side. She wasn't like them!

She wasn't like them.

Erome pushed out a shuddering breath and lowered her hands. She forced herself to get a grip. She forced herself to get back in control. She was too emotional; it kept her from being able to contain them.

"I am not like you!" she growled, the sudden anger taking over her.

She leapt off the bed and slammed her fist into the nearest wall. The pain was immediate, but it felt good. It punctured the cloud of despair that hovered over her.

The anger took over.

She slammed her fist against the wall again and again. Blood from her knuckles stained the white-washed wall. An angry imprint on the flawless surface.

She leaned against the wall as exhaustion took her. She held her aching fist to her chest. She wasn't like them. Not at all. In fact, as soon as she could she would go to Starling. He needed a bunny rabbit to test his "cure" on, how about a tiger instead? Erome didn't care about possible effects. It wasn't like her life could get worse.

That said, a woman guard walked past the room. She saw someone in it and automatically closed the door.

Erome swore and ran over to the door. She yanked on it hard, staining to pull it open. But she knew it wouldn't open. She had chosen a room in the Dangers ward. This part of the building reserved for those who were deadly. Those who needed to be locked in.

The door wouldn't open; it locked automatically.

Erome, a notorious hunter who was known for her ruthlessness, was locked in. And there was nothing she could do about it.

"Hey!" she shouted, banging on the door with her aching fist. "Hey!"

There was no answer.
Your = Possession. Your shoes are so sweet!
You're = Omission. You're quite strange...

If you are confused about which to put, simply say in your mind "you are" and see if that fits the sentence. If not, you are looking for your.

Ada Graves

Sleep did not come easily, or at all really. I sat on my bed, staring at the wall. What had come of my life? I couldn't even remember the names of my parents, or my baby sister. Blocking it out had seemed like a good solution, but I hadn't even thought that I would ever get to a point where I would forget. I didn't want to forget.

A loud crash came from outside as someone fell into my door. Either a guard or a prisoner, both would be struggling to have control over the other.

"Useless." I mumbled.

The cieling fan rattled as another thud came from the floor above. Dust fell in a large cloud over me.

"What is happening up there?"

I looked to the door. I so badly wanted to see what was happening up there. My curiosity was spiked, more than it had been in a very long time. But I couldn't leave, the door was closed.

Ada, you aren't in the Dangers ward anymore. The door is open.

I went to the door and pushed it. Sure enough, it swung open. The commotion in the hallway had died down, and now it was empty. I searched the hallway for some sort of staircase, there was none.

"Impossible." I whispered.

I leaned back against a wall, completely confused. As I leaned back, the wall moved. It moved. I spun around to see that a panel in the wall had swung back to reveal a cargo elevator. I climbed in and pressed a button on the wall and the elevator started moving upward.

Something strange must be happening up there if they feel the need to hide the elevator. I thought as the elevator moved upward.

------
I suppose someone could follow her or something, though I have a plan for whats up there.

I slipped out of Adas room. I felt like an idiot. How did I, the guy who wouldn't ever hurt anyone, make a girl almost cry.

I didn't look where I was going. So I ran into a girl and the other way around.

So sorry!" She exclaimed.

I laughed. "No harm done," I told her with a half-hearted smile. "I'm Ephraim.

"Aylen." The girl I ran into responded. She seemed really pissed.

"OMG. You look angry. Anything I can do?" I asked, this just wasn't my lucky day.

"Uhm. Yeah."

I was led into a room by the girl from the corridor.
"They can't keep us here. I won't let them. This is wrong" We are people! We have rights." She shreiked.
"I know alright now calm down. If we want out we will have to be careful. I have a plan. It's not great but it should do the trick. If we can get to the danger area and get some of them out the balance of power will shift. With the people from there escape should prove much easier. Then its a case of getting out and getting hold of the press. They can't risk atking us out in the open infront of people. Once the press find out this place is gone. Just another blip in history and were gone. Now, can you do anything useful, like, i dunno, turn invisible?" I looked at her coldly from behind my steel face.

It kind of ticked me off how the guy asked me it wasn't like he's was much better than mine. I mean honestly he just turns intp\o a metal man.

"Are you going to answer the question or keep staring at me?" he asked a bit annoyed.

"I blow stuff up." I replied bluntly.

"Like by looking at them?" he aked confused.

"If it has enough iron in it than yeah, but normally no." I muttered as I made an a little enregy ball in my hand.

"It's kind of small." he noted.

"I know it's gotten that way ever since I've been here." I whispered as I put it out. "So am I your only 'follower' or do you have more?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

The elevator came to a rough stop and I pushed the door open. A long empty hallway stretched out in front of me. Every door was closed, but muffled agonized screams and thuds came from a few of the rooms.

I climbed out of the elevator to investigate more. As soon as I stepped past the elevator, a buzzing came from my ankle. I braced myself for the shock. They must know I'm here. A shock never came though, just a loud click and the clatter of the ankle bracelet on the off-white tile floor.

"What the-?" I said aloud.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" someone yelled from the opposite end of the hallway.

I panicked and pushed the nearest door open and hid inside. It would only be a matter of time before the guard got to me.

"H-help." a raspy voice called from behind me.

I spun around to see a vaugely familiar prisoner strapped to the table. The only thing I remembered was that he had been in the dangers ward with me, he could scream so loud it would shatter glass, your eardrums, and even cheap metal or plastic.

"What are you doing in here?" I asked.

The boy coughed and looked at me from the table. "Test subject." he weezed. "Help..."

He was so vulnerable on the table, so weak. He looked as if the life had been drained right out of him.

I wanted to help him, I wanted to save him, but I didn't know how. Before I could think of anything, the door flew open and the guard from the hall stormed in. Panicking, I spun around and threw my arms up in front of me. A streak of red and orange flew at him. He screamed and tumbled to the floor.

"My powers." I whispered.

Suddenly I was bombarded by a vision of more guards running down the hallway, towards where I was. I stepped carefully over the guard and started out the door.

"Wait...help..." the boy on he table begged.

"I'll be back." I promised.

The door to the elevator stood open and my ankle band still laid on the floor. I grabbed it up and pulled the elevator door shut. The elevator eventually began to move slowly downward. As I sat in the darkness I played with a small flame on my fingertips.

"My powers." I whispered again.

I've got to tell the others.

Or...she could run into us ;)

Aylen-

"Um...yeah," I replied to Ephraim.

"What's up?" He asked. I was amazed at how concerned he sounded.

I sighed and started to calm down a little. "It just...blows my mind how they think they can keep us here, like animals in a zoo, minus the publicity, of course. I don't want to lose my powers. I just got them, and I think they could be fun. I believe that if we wanted to lose them, we would come to them for help, not having them come and abduct us. Then stupid Kevin..." My anger flared again at the thought and sound of his name. "Then Kevin claims it's 'not our choice'. Well, it's not theirs! It's our lives! Our powers! They have no right to do this... Especially if we aren't dangerous!" I clenched my fists and stared hard at the ground. "I mean sure, I mess with a couple guards every now and then, but it doesn't mean--"

"Wait a minute, wait a minute," Ephraim interrupted. I looked up at him. "What is your power?"

"I control the elements: fire, water, earth, air, and I believe, spirit. Not sure how that one works yet, though. Yours?"

"I just control water..." He replied, sounding a little defeated when he heard that I can control all the elements.

"See? Now that's not dangero--"

I was cut off when a girl stumbled out of a wall. Ephraim hurried over to her.

"Ada! Are you alright?" He asked her.

She nodded, then looked at me. "Aylen," I told her.

She nodded again, and responded, "Ada."

"Ada, what happened to you?" Ephraim asked her.

She looked up at him worriedly. I looked on with curiosity.

I held up the silver band that had previously been on my ankle. It had clamped back together since I had gotten in the elevator.

"What the-" Ephraim said.

"Don't wave that around like that!" Aylen scolded, putting herself between me and the camera at the end of the hall.

"How'd you get it off?" Ephraim asked.

"I-I-I'm not sure actually." I said. "All I know is I got in that," I gestured to the elevator in the wall, "and when I got out the next floor up it fell off."

"What's up there?" Aylen asked.

"I'm not sure, but whatever they are doing is seriously messed up." I then proceeded to explain everything that had happened since I stepped out of the elevator. They both listened to the entire thing and didn't say anything for a few minutes after I stopped.

"I'm afraid so far you are the only one, although i'm sure there are others."
"Great. Just fantastic. How the hell are a metal man and an exploding girl going to get out of here, and free people from the DANGERS ward?"
"Your power is more useful than you think. Thanks to you doors pose less of a problem and thanks to me bullets are the least of our worries."
"Alright so lets say this works. How will we get out?"
"Well i hear there is a guy in the dangers ward who can turn stuff to dust. With him we are as good as free." I smiled at the thought of returning home to my quiet junkyard.
