It was light when Oscar finally awoke, too light. It felt wrong, artificial, not the natural morning light that wakes you gently in the morning. He opened his eyes, staring straight uo into the too white ceiling.
"Hello Oscar, welcome"
Everything has been figured out, except how to live.
I had sat in the empty lounge for almost two hours now. The person who had seemed slightly interested in what I was doing had long since left. I looked up to the ceiling again. More white dust fell as another thud sounded above.
"Weird." I said aloud.
"I'm not sure really these people here are out of it." someone said in the hallway.
Oh good, people at last. I got off the old couch and peeked out the doorway, my long brown hair spilling over my shoulders. Cappy was walking with someone I didn't recognize.
"Hey, Cappy" I smiled and walked out into the hallway.
I looked wild eyed around the room, desperate to find a way out. I grabbed the metal with some food on and tried to change but nothing happened. Something was very wrong. I tried the door. Still locked. I grabbed a chair and smashed it against the door. The door didn't even have the decency to budge.
I was trapped. Like some kind of animal. I went nuts.
"Let me out of here! When i find who you are i'm gonna smash your head into soup. I'm gonna go to your house and abduct your family. See how you like it." I grabbed what ever i could lay my hands on and smashed it against the floor, the walls, the ceiling. The floor gave a shudder and i looked down to see a small hole looking down onto a lounge full of other children.
"Hey" Hey! Help me!" I shouted into the tiny hole. "I'm locked in!"
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.
"Erome, Subject 3458 has woken and joined the others," Damrel informed Erome. Old and haggard, Damrel still possessed a frightening amount of power. In his day he had been a fine hunter, and he still was. Erome admired his fierce energy, and despised his only daughter, Marlayna. Erome thought her as weak; no better than the filth Erome worked so hard to cage. What a shame the magnificent Damrel had been cursed with a cowardly daughter.
"And what of it?" she tossed the words carelessly over her shoulder as she tapped out commands on the keyboard. She knew Damrel only respected strength, so strength was all she showed him. Having attained Subject 3458 she was now on the search for others.
"I want you to supervise. The arrival of new ones always stirs some rebellious spirit in them. You are the strongest and I want them to know escape is unimaginable."
"Understood." She got to her feet.
Understood, but not accepted. God, she hated being near them. She hated being counted among their number.
Erome had first realised she was cursed when she was twelve. Her mother had just died and Erome was always tearful. She was startled to find out when she cried it rained, and when she was angry storm clouds gathered. Wailing winds, stinging rain, and streaks of lightning were her friends after her mother died. They made her feel powerful.
She hadn't known they'd make her lethal too.
She was fifteen and dating a boy called Peter. He'd taken her down to the lake that fatal day. The weather was perfect: she'd made it perfect. Nothing would sour her date with this guy she was crazy about.
Nothing she could control, anyway.
"Rebbecca," he'd said, "I want to show you something; something amazing."
Erome followed, innocently wondering what he wanted to reveal to her. A beautiful flower? A baby bird? Maybe he'd found a lovely spot sounded with breath-taking views. She never imagined...
He took her to a spot shielded from the prying eyes of other people before he let go of her hand. He had a wicked gleam in his eyes as he grinned at her.
"Look what I can do."
He placed one of his hands on the grass. He closed his eyes in concentration. Then the strangest thing happened. The lush grass around his hand began to turn yellow, then brown, then black. The black spread out around him, like black paint, making everything ebony. Making everything dead
"Peter..." she said nervously, stepping backwards as it surged towards her. "Peter - stop."
His expression was serene, peaceful. The slight breeze ruffled his blonde hair slightly. His lips were slightly curved, almost smiling.
"Peter."
The black crept towards her, closing the distance even as she backed away.
"Peter!"
She reached out and pushed him, hoping to snap him out of his trance. It worked. He started to fall over and instinctively grabbed out for something to hold him up.
His hand closed around her arm.
She screamed. Agony invaded her arm and shot upwards, turning her skin black. Oh God. It hurt so much. Worse than when she'd burnt her foot. Worse than the emotional agony of seeing death creep across her mother's face like it was surely creeping across hers.
Then he let go and bit by bit she became aware of everything around her.
Where had all these people come from? They were all dressed in black, with police vests on and huge guns pointed at her and Peter. They looked angry, scared. Ferocious.
A man struggled towards her and she realised she had created a furious wind that ripped at their hair and clothing. It's roar filled her ears and it took her a long time to realise he was shouting at her.
"Put your God-damned hands behind your head or we'll blow you to the other side of the Earth!"
Frightened, she looked down at Peter. He lay unnaturally still, blood gushed from multiple wounds in his chest and formed a growing puddle on the singed grass.
She hadn't known Damrel back then, and he had thought of her as just another addition to the scum he and the government collected. He soon became aware of the hate that Peter had planted inside her. Month by month it grew and grew, until she could no longer bear to be in the same room as the others. She hated them so much. Killers with Peter's serene face. Whenever they had tried to talk to her she snarled at them. When they had tried to comfort her she dd not hesitate about attacking them. To hell with their need. To hell with their dependence. She hated having anything to do with them.
Damrel recognised this and helped her escape from their stifling desperation. He was the one who suggested she should become a member of the team. She could help bring the others down. She could bring them down and enjoy it. A pleasure he was glad someone else also enjoyed.
She was quick to change her name when she became a hunter. She needed no reminders as to why she was there.
All this she remembered as she made her way to supervise the new prisoner. She heard them talking, conversing with each other as though they were normal people.
Subject 3458 was speaking to a girl, Cappy - Subject 2861.
"Hey I'm Ephraim. . . what did you mean welcome?"
"Well. . .um. . ." Subject 2861 glanced over at Erome. Erome watched her with a cold stare. "I'll give you a tour."
So much for her keeping an eye on Subject 3458. She decided to let them go and turned to face the others still in the room. (***are they still in the room?**)
Welcome to the Asylum, she thought, glaring out at the usually placid faces now alive with excitement. Try to escape and I'll shred you with my lightning.
Hey Chupatoasta, hope you don't mind I used both of your characters. ^^'
Your = Possession. Your shoes are so sweet! You're = Omission. You're quite strange...
If you are confused about which to put, simply say in your mind "you are" and see if that fits the sentence. If not, you are looking for your.
Cappy seemed nice. She gave me a tour.
We walked around a corner when we bumped into this girl named Ada
"Who is this?"
"I'm Ephraim." I smiled.
"Hey. Welcome. You seem to take it really lightly that were locked up here..."
"I'm screaming on the inside." I said laughing. "But honestly. What are these people thinking, locking us up, just because were different!?"
Ada shrugged.
*sorry its so short...*
Life isn't fair, its just fairer than death, that's all...
I forgot to post how she got here. . .she'll just having a flashback to that day.
Cappy~
"They just have the typical human perspective." I shrugged as well. "Any time there something they can't explain, they must find a way to 'fix' it, so that they can sleep better at night." I informed them of my beleif that was kind of out there.
Saying this reminded me of when they came for me. . .
I had fallen asleep during class, and when I woke up every one was gone. I thought maybe I just slept through the bell. I started to walk down the hall when I relized it was empty normally there would be a few students that roam the halls after school, even the pot heads would be heared, not even a teacher working late was here.
"Strange." I whispered to myself as I heared footsteps behinde me, I looked behinde me and saw no one. This is just like a horror movie! I thought fear rising inside me. I turned around ready to bolt to the door, when I saw a women standing there.
"Hello." her voice was creepy. I created a small bomb in the palm of my hand and chunked it at her, and took off running. As I rounded the corrner a guy punched me sending me flying me into a wall, the last thing I remeber was a small sting in my neck before everything turned black.
"Cappy are you okay?" Ephriam asked as he shook my shoulder.
"Huh. . .Oh yeah just peachy." I smiled.
"You looked like you were daydreaming of something bad." Ada noted.
"Why don't we let Peeta claim it, since he died today?"-Finnick (Catching Fire) "We may be friends and all, but if were being chased by crazy flesh eating zombies. I won't lie. . .I'll trip you."~ Me after watching the hills have eyes.
MAria briskly walked down the almost deserted hallway, as she discovered that no one was atching she smiled and began to skip instead. A pair of large doors were ahead of her and she could hear people talking, her white teeth flashed as she opened the doors to meet many pairs of eyes.
THey didn't know who she was.
It was amazing.
The one who smiles the most has something to hide.
..i'm lonely...message me..some how add me on your social networking site (unless you are some creepy weirdo who stalks girls for their organ harvesting company..i personally like them inside of me thankyou )
"You looked like you were dreaming of something bad." I stated. It was true.
"Are you okay?" Ephraim asked her.
Cappy smiled. "Yeah, of course I'm fine."
I believed her, but Ephraim still looked a little worried. Suddenly though, a sharp pain went through my ankle. I looked at the small black metal band around my right ankle and frowned. "Time to go." I said.
Cappy nodded, but Ephraim was still revocering from the shock. He lifted up the leg of his pants to look at the metal band. "What is this thing?" he asked.
"It's how they 'control' us. It's got all the amenities of a house arrest monitor, but they threw in a few extras." I explained.
Ephraim nodded, but still seemed shocked. "Well what does the shock mean?"
------
Hope that's okay, just figured they all would need something more to keep them in line. And yeah, the shock just means they have to be somewhere. I didn't think of where, I'll leave that to someone else.
How about an assembly! Hosted by some guy running the whole thing.
Yeah, like a gathering where they welcome the new people and give a presentation on their 'goals' and such. Lies basically.
It would be really cool to get different interpretations on that.

Aaahhh!!! Lol no more staying away for 3 days and not checking in!!! XD
Aylen-
I walked through the seemingly abandoned warehouse as I waited for my grandfather to finish doing...whatever it was that he was dong. There were large yellow bins everywhere that had the black nuclear sign on them. It was so odd and unusual. I couldn't help but wonder what business my grandpa had here, or why he had to bring me, but when I asked him about it, he told me to "hush up and don't speak again." I gazed around at my surroundings. Leaves and twigs were everywhere, aided by the occasional puddle of water. An unusually strong breeze was whistling through the multiple broken windows and open doors. A man who looked like a construction worker of sorts walked by and dropped a barely lit cigarette without putting it out. I glared at him as he passed through. Then...well, what happened next happened so fast...
The wind was so strong that it blew over a couple of bins that were right next to me. Green sludge oozed from them and engulfed my shoes, causing me to trip. I felt it soak into my body. Seep into my pores and flow through my blood. With the last breaths the toxic waste would let me take, I instinctively prayed to God for safety. Then I blacked out.
When I woke up, it was morning, and I was in my room. A warm washcloth was on my forehead and it hurt to move, even a little. I finally managed to sit up and when I did, I noticed a bowl of water on my nightstand, probably what was used to wet the washcloth. Once I looked at the water, it was like I couldn't look away. My eyes were stuck fast to it and wouldn't move. Until, that is, the water began to rise up out of the bowl. My eyes widened as the water began to dance and play in the air, making shapes and figures and a number of other things. And all of it was being controlled by my eyes. When I realized all of this I grabbed my head and thrust it downwards in agony. I heard the water splash on the floor. In another corner of my room was a softly flickering candle. I watched it carefully, and sure enough, it changed to various sizes the longer my eyes played with it. I tried the odd new ability on a flourishing plant in another corner and the air that blew gently out of the vent in my ceiling. Every time I messed with something, it changed in some way; strength, size, whatever. And it was then that it occurred to me that I was surrounded by all four elements at the time I was touched by the radioactive waste. But there was one more element that I used that I didn't know how to control - spirit. I had prayed before I blacked out, but how would I be able to control spirit? Through souls? I didn't get time to figure it out.
A woman dressed in black appeared in my doorway and a couple men in white came in quickly and held me down as the woman sunk a needle deep into my arm. My eyes widened for a second before quickly closing again.
I woke up in a white room. I was wearing a plain white dress and was sitting up against a wall. My pink-streaked hair was pulled into a ponytail. Everything in the room was white - the bed, the sheets, the walls, the curtains, the floors, the ceiling, the door, the dresser - everything. It was cold and white. It reminded me of a hospital. But I felt fine, other than a throbbing spot where the needle had been plunged into my flesh. Something told me that she had put it a little too far in.
After a bit, the door opened and another woman - a different one, dressed in white - walked in. She observed me for a minute, then scribbled some things on a white clipboard.
"Where am I?" I choked out.
She looked up at me quickly, then set her eyes back on the board. "In a rehabilitation facility of sorts. We're curing you of your special powers."
"Special powers?" I asked, then it hit me. The element controlling. These people work fast, to be able to catch me in a matter of minutes. "What if I don't wanna be cured?" I snapped. "What if I like my powers?"
"That's not for you to decide," she said, and with that, she left.
I groaned, annoyed, and stood up. A tiny shock made me jump. A black thing around my ankle had sent a minor electrical shock through me. But what did it mean? On it was a tag with some numbers - 5628. I wasn't sure what that meant either. I walked to the door and opened it, peering into the dimly lit hallway just beyond. A couple of kids were just scurrying down it, obviously in a hurry to get to...somewhere. When they were gone, a man walked swiftly after them.
As he passed me, he called, "C'mon, 5628! Assembly time!"
I glared at him as he swept me out of my room and after the other kids. "I have a name, you know."
"Yes, I do know," he responded. "5628."
I growled quietly. "No. A real name."
"Oh..." he said, sounding a little surprised. "Well, not in here you don't. In here, you're just a set of numbers."
I gasped in offense and smacked him hard upside the head. "Listen to me now, and listen close," I snarled. "I am NOT just a bunch of numbers. It's Aylen. Got it?"
"Yeah, yeah, I got it, Aylen," he said quietly, rubbing his head in pain.
"Good." I replied curtly. "Now, this assembly. Where is it?"
The man's face brightened a little as he gestured towards a large building.
Singing: It's more than my forte; it's my fortissimo --- They say "Guns don't kill people. People kill people." Well, I think guns help. If you just stand there and yell BANG I don't think you're going to kill too many people...
After i grew tired of dceimating the room and the lack of reaction i was getting from the children in the lounge i lay down on the bed and sobbed. What had i done wrong? Why was i here? Would i ever see my family again?
I heard a key in the door and jumped up. I grabbed the metal tray and crouched behind the door.
"0636 It is time for assembly. Please follow me. Oh, and put the tray down."
I stepped out from behind the door to see a captivating young woman walking briskly down the corridor. I dropped the tray and chased after her as she rounded a corner. I ran through an open door and found myself in a large hall, slowly filling with other people. The woman had disappeared.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.
She sighed and leaned against the wall at the back of the auditorium. She wasn't happy, but that was hardly surprising. The only time she was happy was when she was on the hunt.
She watched Professor Starling check his notes up on the stage. The word "professor" conjured up images of old men with white hair and bad cases of arthritis. That was not Starling. No, Starling was a man in his late twenties, early thirties. His hair was thick and black. His health was fine. He could even have been considered handsome.
Not that Erome cared.
To her he was just the idiot running this freak show.
To the scum taking their seats he was the face of the dreams of normality. The one who promised to get them back to normal and release them.
If only they knew...
You see, being a hunter, she could access all sorts of secrets. She knew the scientists were developing a virus. Starling immediately labeled this virus "the cure" and was urging the scientists to perfect it - quickly. No one knew what the effects could be. Death? Illness? Maybe it really did just take away a person's powers. Or maybe it turned them into something much worse.
Erome grimly watched him prepare. She knew he was going to announce a 'cure' had been found. She knew that, like the idiots they were, the scum would be overjoyed. They would rush to be the first to receive a dose of this unknown substance.
Then, too late, they would know the effects.
