DJ McKay

"Well could you navigate your way home from here?" I asked.

Oliver paused for a minute before speaking again, studying the roads. "Possibly..."

I went to speak again, but suddenly my head hurt like crazy. I cringed and held my head. It nearly felt like it was going to explode. Someone placed an arm around me and asked if I was okay. I waved them away and composed myself.

"Would you happen to have a similarly sized van we could all fit in?"

*hey, sorry i haven't posted in forever :s i've been away but im back now so shud be bale to post more often =) ...is its still going?*

Mackenzie Guff

Mackenzie could see a road trip materialising soon, but he kept quiet as the person with the plan also seemed the most stressed out of the van's occupants. Mackenzie figured p***ing Mikael off would not help him get out of this so instead quietly listened to the other boy's plan.
"So let me get this straight," Mackenzie began to summarise when the plan had been laid out. "I'm meant to be swapping our current vehicle for some better transport and then this guy who doesn't know who he wants to be," Mac indicated DJ, "Is going to do a Gok Won on us all before we all run away and live together in some litte nowhere?" Mikael nodded solemnly and the conversation soon turned to how they were going to get said new vehicle. Theft was soon dismissed much to Mackenzie's dismay.
"Anyone know a good, and preferably legal, way to get ourselves a new van?" the girl Ada asked. "Does anyone's family live nearby who owns a big enough van?"
A boy Mac only just realised was in a wheel-chair replied weakly "We don't know where we are. How would we know if anyone lived near enough for us to get a van from their house?"
Now fast recovering from his encounter with the guards and their tranquilizers, DJ checked the window and relayed that they were apparently in Wisconsin.
"Oh, we've already found our some little nowhere" Mackenzie chirped up. Everyone ignored this comment. Looking away from the main group dejectedly, Mac suddenly noticed one of the other girls sat further down the van leafing through some files, more of which were spread haphazardly across the floor at her end of the van. After reading one she paused then began feverishly riffling through the remaining files on the floor. She apparently found what she was looking for particulaly quickly and sat upright again, her face flushed with relief. She paused for a second, Mackenzie assumed she was reading something on the front of the file, but he wasn't sure. He was intrigued and so he shuffled down next to her and picked the file out of her hand.
"Heron Fells, 22893?" Mackenzie murmured.

*as you can see...i kinda tried to tie everything together. hope it wasn't too bad :s*
"This is my plan of attack"

"Hmmm, looks more like a pin to me"

"I might be able to get us to our house. They got a van pretty recently because of, well, my condition. It makes it a little easier for me to get around. We should be able to squeeze in." Oliver felt a little better. Now maybe he could at least say goodbye.

He glanced at the file, frowning slightly. "They keep files on you guys? That's creepy. I wonder if they'd have one on me somewhere..."

Mac began flipping through it curiously.

Ada Graves

"Excellent, Oliver!" I cheered and threw my arms around him for a hug. He just sat there awkwardly until I finished hugging him.

My attention was then drawn to the pile of files on the van floor. Heron was searching through one marked with her name, and Guff was searching through the ones on the ground. I sighed as I watched them.

I knew my file would be nowhere in this van. I had been at the Asylum for far too long. My file would have already been placed in some highly secured storage room, only marked with things I had done at the Asylum. A red sticker for Danger's Ward Patient, a black mark over that for "Released", and probably a thousand gold stars for obeying all the rules.

"So much for obeying the rules now." I mumbled.

**disregard my last post xP**

Oliver nodded. "Yeah... excellent. Right." He tried not to feel apprehensive about going back to his house. They had had a point about leading the guards straight to his family. It wasn't as though they had many other options, or like he didn't want to see them again, but still.

Suddenly he frowned. "Wait a minute, how do you know they didn't put tracers on at least one of you? You know, like they put a microchip under your skin or something. What if I end up leading the guards straight to my house?"

Ada

"As far as I know, the only tracers were in those metal bands. But we all got rid of those before we escaped." I explained.

"But that's only as far as you know." Oliver pointed out. "They could have done anything to you while you were tranquilized or something."

He had a point.

"I don't see why, an escape was never anticipated or really attempted before. Half the people there were brainwashed anyways." Ephraim said.

Okay, so I will be out of internet access for the next fourish days. Keep Ada and DJ alive and going please! I'll post as soon as I get back.

Let's get this thing moving again

Heron

She read her history with tears in her eyes. She had two parents, both alive when she'd been taken, and an older sister. A pet dog. A group of friends. She'd been rebellious and impulsive. She had enemies - a few years before she was picked up, a group of boys lead by a girl had surrounded her and beaten her up. Apparently she'd had to go to hospital for stitches. Was that what her scar on her cheek was from?

Dimly, she was aware of Ada's voice, sounding quite relieved. "You know, I think we're gonna make it."

Was she asking to be jinxed???

The distant grumbling sound that everyone had been ignoring grew. It began to get bumpier. In the corner of her eye, Heron saw Mikael get up and stare out of a window.

"Guys," he said so quietly that he had to repeat himself.

"What is it?"

"You might wanna see this."

His tone made Heron curious. Clutching the folders to her, she got up and went with everyone - aside from the driver - to look out of Mikael's window.

It was black. Forks of lightning ripped across the sky now and then, illuminating the deep purple clouds. And the twisting, turning tornadoes. It was getting closer and closer, almost upon them. Someone spoke - it didn't matter who - it was a thought shared by all of them.

"Holy crap."

I'm back by the way =)

DJ

"Holy crap." I said. I knew my sentiments were shared by many.

The tornadoes were almost upon us, the van rocked with the force of the winds.

"We need to get the hell out of here!" I yelled at the person driving *sorry I forget who this is*

"I'm trying!" they yelled back at me.

Suddenly, a side road became visible on the side of the highway. It was a small one lane dirt road that led into the mountains. I stood up and shifted back to the red haired boy. With great effort, I threw my invisibility around the van. "Take that road!" I yelled over a loud clap of thunder.

Oliver

Oliver craned his neck to see out the window. "Well THAT'S just great," he said, slightly panicked. "Of COURSE that would happen. They can't make this easy for us, can they?"

His wheelchair rocked back and forth with the force of the winds and the bumping of the dirt road. If they weren't careful, he'd capsize. When the one kid, what's his face, made them invisible, he sighed.

"Look, I don't want to be a downer, but it won't matter if anyone can see us or not if a tornado hits out car." He shifted his weight uneasily. "We need to get out of this van and into a cellar or something."

Mikael looked over his shoulder with a scowl. "It won't keep of us from getting killed by that psycho guard woman."

"What psycho guard-"

"The one who's making the storms." Mikael sounded like he was losing his patience. "Maybe you should just keep quiet since you've got no idea what's going on newbie."

Oliver gritted his teeth and was quiet.

*Ok what happened to this?? it was going so well then nothing =/*

Mackenzie Guff

Against some opposition the group had decided to follow Oliver's idea of getting inside as quickly as possible. Luckily for them most of the locals had already had a similar idea and so there was no-one to see them as they parked the van in the first free drive they found that belonged to a house that also had an outside entrance to its cellar. Mikael soon found some tarpaulin lying around over the house owner's car and fastened it over the van as best he could. The rain lashed at the escapees from every direction as Mikael worked his way through the lock on the cellar door. He then continued to hold the door open and indicated for the other escapees to get in as quickly as possible.
"Steady on there doing all this; at this rate we'll all become obsolete," Mackenzie added jokingly as he passed the boy. The cold stare he got back gave Mac the chilling feeling he wasn't too far from the truth, and made him glad the storm had hidden his words from the others. Mackenzie was about to make his way down into the cellar when the same thought struck them all simultaneously. He slowly turned and stared down at the steep steps that led down to their possible protection.
"How are we gonna get Oliver down there?"

*sorry it's so weak i'm just trying to post and get this going again*

Oliver Edinburgh

Oliver, who'd been helped out of the car by DJ, frowned down the steps. "How are we going to..." His voice trailed away, and a set look came over his face.

"Here, we can worry about the wheel chair later!" He'd had to start yelling because of the rising volume of the wind. "If two of you can just carry me down the stairs, we should be good. Right now, we just need to worry about not dying."

Mikael and DJ exchanged a glance before doing as Oliver said. There wasn't really any time to think about it; the tornadoes were approaching fast. DJ grabbed him under the arms while Mikael took his legs. In that fashion they managed to get him down the stairs fairly quickly. Fortunately he was pretty thin and thus didn't weigh too much.

Guff, feeling that it wouldn't be fun for anyone if they had to carry Oliver around everywhere they went, grabbed the wheel chair and attempted to carry it down after the others.

DJ and Mikael propped Oliver up against the wall once they reached the bottom. He looked up the stairs at Guff struggling with his cumbersome chair. "That folds up you know-" he said, but then there was a deafening clang. Guff accidentally dropped the wheelchair down the stairs.

Ada yelped. Heron covered her ears. Once the chair stopped bouncing down the stairs, she inspected it. "One of the wheels is bent," she announced.

Oliver groaned. Great. Just great.

DJ

"Listen, we'll figure it out later. For now get that cellar door shut!" I yelled.

Someone managed to slam the door shut and secure it. We all sat in the dark until Ada held out her hand and let some fire go.

"There." she said as some of the room was illuminated.

Everyone was silent, except for heavy breathing which quickly calmed.

"So..." Guff said.

"We need a plan." I announced. "And obviously a new one, since whatever we had been doing before didn't turn out so well."

Mikael

Olivers wheel chair clattered down the stairs as a feirce wind blew through the cellar doors. I grabbed the door handle, not even reacting as my skin took its steely complection. I pulled the doors closed and bolted it, plunging the room into darkness before Ada lit a small fire.
"There," she smiled.
"So..." Guff looked around quietly.
"We need a plan and obviously a new one, since whatever we had been doing before didn't turn out so well." Announced DJ.
"Look i tried my best alright?" I shouted angrily. "How was i supposed to know that she would come after us!" How dare DJ sit there and calmly criticise my plan. S/he had no idea how much pressure i was under and all i had tried to do was help.
"Woah Mikey calm down." Exclaimed Guff worriedly.
"Don't tell me what to do!" I shouted punching the wall. When i drew back my hand i noticed the huge rent i had left in the wall. Without another word i slumped into the corner and quietly let the stress wash over me.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.
