Well, I think guns help. If you just stand there and yell BANG I don't think you're going to kill too many people...

Okay, let's get this moving.

Erome

With a triumphant scream , she tore the door open with the wild wind as though it were made from the feeblest form of wood. "Found you! Found you! Die, all of you!" Her eyes were wide and froth formed at the edges of her wailing mouth as she screamed down the stairs. Behind her, lightning forked through the black sky, rain lashed at every surface, and wind tore at everything. The pale faces of the guards peeped through the windscreens fo their heavily armoured trucks.

"Ready or not, here I come!" she giggled hysterically, then screamed again, punching one of the walls. "I'm coming! I'm coming! Coming, coming, coming...!"

~~~~~
Heron
Everyone looked up, startled by the sudden bang and the insane voice.
"It's that guard," Mikael muttered. "We've gotta get out of here."
Heron glanced at her feet, and what do ya know, she was standing on a trap door.
**figured they'd be running through tunnels and stuff ... carrying Oliver... O.o **
"Found you! Found you! Die, all of you!"
Oliver looked up at Erome. He took in the vicious storm behind her, the armored trucks, the foam gathering at the edges of the woman's mouth, the wide mad eyes...
"Holy crap."
Suddenly an idea popped into his head. Maybe if he could get the guard to grab him, he could switch bodies with her. He didn't know if the powers would transfer bodies or not, but it would at least distract her enough for the others to do something. Maybe they could figure out a way out of this trap.
Then again, they were cornered in a basement. What if there wasn't a way out of this situation?
He glanced at the others. Most of them were watching Erome and getting ready to fight, Heron was looking at her feet, and he was sitting close to the stairs. He waited very, very quietly.
Erome's giggling and shrieking was almost incoherent now. He quietly army-crawled into a better position. From where he was now, he might be able to grab her ankle.
She had reached the bottom of the stairs now. "I FOUND YOU!" she shrieked, raising her hand to do who-knew-what.
Please God say that this works... Forcing himself to keep his eyes open, he lunged for her leg, slipping his hand under the cuff of her pants in the hopes of touching her skin. It took direct contact to pull this off.
Mikael
The doors ripped out and brought me out of my daze.
"I found you!" Shreiked the guard. "I FOUND YOU!!!" She screamed looking straight at me an raising her hand. Suddenly she stopped.
"No. Whats happening?! I have to kil him. Peter must die." Shreiked what i thought was Oliver.
"Wow." Said the guard shocked. "I can't believed that worked."
"Ollie? Is that you?" Asked Guff
Oliver/Erome's mouth twitched into a grin that seemed completely out of place on the guard's face. "In the flesh... sort of." He clamped a hand over his body's mouth to keep Erome from calling for help. "But now what do we do? Hang on..." He dug around in the pocket of the guard's uniform and found a syringe. He quickly injected it into what was now the guard's neck. Her eyes widened and she struggled for a moment, but then the drug kicked in and she lost conciousness.
"Hey guys... I think there's a way out of here." Heron had opened a trap door in the floor and dropped inside. "It's a bit dark..." Soon a soft white glow came up from the opening. "Much better."
"Someone take her- me- whatever," Oliver said, and Mikael and Guff grabbed Erome. "I'm getting my wheelchair. Maybe we can hammer the wheel straight."
"Be fast about it. The other guards will be coming before long," said Ephraim nervously as he followed Heron's lead and ducked into the hole.
Oliver darted over to the chair and hit the lever in the back. It folded so it'd be easier to carry.
Ada and Cappy slipped through the hole next. Oliver motioned for DJ to jump down ahead of him.
He heard confused voices from the head of the stairs. Crap. As quickly as he could, he handed the chair down to DJ and climbed down, shutting the trap door behind him.
*gasps!* she could become sane again (sometime in the distant future) and help them destroy the Asylum! O.o maybe...
Ada
I glanced at the unmoving body of what had been Oliver as we moved through the tunnel. This was getting stranger by the second. I looked back at what Oliver was now. He/she smiled at me triumphantly.
"This is too weird," I mumbled.
I was actually beginning to think the world had made much more sense at the Asylum, where I could just follow what they told me and they provided everything I needed. It certainly had worked fine until now.
The tunnel seemed to extend forever, we just kept walking and walking. I was exhausted. I sighed and began falling slightly behind the others. The tunnel suddenly left my vision and I was staring through the trees we had been in only hours before, looking at the Asylum.
The grounds were in chaos. Every patient was able to access their powers and every patient made use of them. Guards fought patients, patients fought patients, and guards fought guards. Suddenly, an explosion erupted from the dangers ward and more patients spilled out to the mess.
The vision faded away and I was staring at Ephraim's back as we kept walking through the tunnel. "Definitely too weird." I mumbled.
*Yeah, I know not much was accomplished by that.*
**Erome knows how to bring the Asylum down. Quite simple, actually. ^^ And what characters are in this? Sorry, but I hate carrying deadwood. :( I think I've got the people who're posting...
Heron
"What if we're wrong," she half-murmured. Ada turned to her with her eyebrows raised, and Heron flushed. "I - I mean, what if there are people who actually are too dangerous to be out there." DJ winced, and Heron felt the urge to explain what she meant. "Like - like serials killers. Imagine a serial killer with powers." She shuddered.
"Like that freakin' guard, more like. Never mind serial killers, we've got her to worry about now," said Ephraim.
"But what if some people needed to be locked up in the Asylum?" Fear began to creep up her spine, turning the stale air chilly. "What if what we're doing is wrong?"
Mikael wheeled around. "Listen," he snarled. "What they are doing is wrong, not what we're doing. You think people should be locked up and experimented on?" Heron started to shake her head 'no', but he continued. "It's sick. Sick. But hey, if you wanna be a part of that, then you know where to go."
Heron shrunk back from his angry face, his eyes ablaze with fury. She wished she could take back what she'd said. She didn't mean to make him so angry. And she didn't want to go back.
"Mikael," Ada stepped between them, quite an accomplishment in the narrow tunnels. "Cool it, okay. For now, let's worry about getting out of these tunnels, and then we can figure out this mess."
He seemed to calm down at that and turned, bumping past Oliver/the guard. It was creepy, seeing Oliver's expressions on the woman's face. Sort of familiar, yet not familiar at the same time.
Ada flashed a tense smile at Heron, one that said 'don't worry about him', and Heron smiled nervously back.
"Hey, I think I can see light!" someone called.
Guff, who was holding Oliver's body's feet sauntered past Heron with a smile. "There's always light at the end of the tunnel."
DJ
We picked up the pace until we reached the source of the light. We came out of the smaller tunnel into a sewer, and light was streaming in from a grate on the ceiling. The sound of moving water was close by, probably only a few feet away but hard to make out in the limited light.
"What now?" Guff asked. "Do we try to get out through there? Or do we keep walking? You can pretty much count me out of trying to shove this guard in Oliver's body through that grate, though."
I stared up at the grate for a minute, thinking. It wouldn't be so hard to lift Oliver out of there...assuming that we want to be where ever is on the other side.
Before I could voice my thoughts, it started happening again. My legs buckled under me and I felt my appearance changing rapidly. Bones shifted and muscle mass changed in the most painful ways, one reason why I never altered myself so much. I roared in pain and fell backwards.
"DJ! What's wrong?" Ada grabbed my shoulders to try to stabilize me.
I locked eyes with her, uttered the most gutteral, primative growl I had ever heard, and pushed her back against the stone tunnel wall. She yelped in pain and grasped her shoulder where blood was flowing. I looked at my hands, metal claws now extended from my fingers.
What's happening to me?
Mikael and Ephraim jumped at me, attempting to hold me to the ground. I pushed them off and stood with ease. I immediatly noticed I stood several inches taller than usual and felt stronger than I had in years.
"DJ?" Heron said, her voice was filled with shock.
Nothing anyone could have said could have possibly stopped me from what I did next, though. I grabbed Heron by the arm and held her in the air, above the flow of water and sewage.
No, DJ, stop. This is not what you want to do. These people saved you, they are your friends. My mind tried to urge my body to do what was right, but it had come out of my control.
Some unnamed force hit me in the back before I could do anything else. It knocked me off balance and I lost my grip on Heron. Unfortunately, we both tumbled into the water. I tried to grab at where Heron had been, needing to take someone down with me, but I couldn't find her.
My body was heavy, and sunk fast. The light faded as did my conciousness as I fell further and further into the sewer.
*Ooo, creepy. Just so everyone knows, DJ was heavily experimented on at the Asylum. The scientists were trying to make him into the ultimate weapon, but were having trouble controling his power once the experimentation had advanced. He was always sedated and under constant medication at the Asylum, now that he is away from the Asylum and the medication is wearing off he is turning into that ultimate weapon/monster. He's not dead yet though, just subdued for a while. :wink: Hopefully this helps move things along a bit...*
Oliver
The guard that was actually Oliver winced. "Here, I want to make sure nothing happens to my body. I don't like the idea of spending the rest of my life as a woman." Besides, the guard might have information they could use. And the thought of killing someone, accidentally or otherwise, sent chills down his spine.
There was a horrible yell from behind him. He spun around. DJ seemed to be having some sort of fit.
He watched the spectacle in a sort of horrified trance as DJ transformed into something... inhuman. He shoved Ada away, threw Mikael and Ephraim off of himself easily, and dangled Heron over the water. Oliver didn't really know what happened next. There was a sudden gust of wind (how was that possible? They were underground) and it knocked both of them out into the sewer water.
"Heron! DJ!" Oliver jumped into the disgusting liquid without a thought and helped the gasping and shaking Heron out onto the bank. Then he looked for DJ.
The boy was nowhere in sight. This wasn't right, what had happened? Please say he's okay, please say he didn't...
A pale shape bobbed to the surface nearby, and Oliver paddled towards it. It was DJ, rapidly regaining his human form. Oliver towed him back towards the others. Mikael and Ephraim each took one of DJ's arms and hauled him up.
Ephraim checked his pulse. "He's alive," he said grimly
Oliver sighed with relief. Thank you.
Mikael got to his feet angrily. "So what do we do with him? Why did he attack us like that?"
No one had an answer.
Heron
"This ... is all ... too much," she gasped, fighting to catch her breath. "Too ... much."
No one said anything. It was too true.
Heron swallowed and looked at Ephraim. "W-will he get better?"
He snorted. "How am I meant to know?"
Ada crouched down beside DJ, her green eyes serious as she studied him. "He was in a lot of trouble when I found him. They must have experimented on him too much."
Mikael glared at Heron. "Do you still think what we're doing is wrong?"
Heron bit her lip nervously and then spat at the horrible taste. "Ick!" Quickly she turned to Oliver/the guard. "Thank you for helping me, Oliver! I - I was - thank you."
"It's fine. Glad I could help."
Heron crept closer to DJ, aware of her arm throbbing madly. People weren't meant to be held up in the air by their arms. At least that much Heron understood.
"DJ?" She stretched out a trembling am and hesitantly touched his face. It felt wrong, intrusive, to do that, so she moved back and shook his shoulder instead.
Nothing.
Heron looked back up at the others, tense as they circled DJ. Awaiting for the monster to rise once more.
"What do we do now?"
Oliver
The guard's face twisted as Oliver grimaced. "I don't like it any more than the rest of you, but we don't know what he'll be like when he wakes up. It, uh, would probably be best to restrain him somehow. For his own safety as much as ours."
More than one face showed signs of distaste, and several people shifted uneasily.
"Do you know if it will even work?" Heron asked timidly. "I mean, we don't have anything that strong, do we? And you saw how strong he is. I don't know if anything we have could hold him down."
"And we need to keep moving," Mikael said gruffly. "If we could find that trapdoor, the guards can."
"But that means we'll have two people to carry," Ada said unhappily. "What are we going to do?"
"Well," Ephraim said, "Oliver and I could carry DJ, and Mikael and Guff could carry the guard. And if DJ wakes up and goes... like that again... I dunno. We'll deal with it when it comes."
Mikael
"Deal with it when it comes?" I laughed. "Are you crazy? If that THING comes back i'll kill it right then and there. I'm getting out of here in one peice. Not ripped apart by a messed up, pumped up kid."
"Mikael you can't just kill him!" Exclaimed Ada.
"Yeah Mikey thats a bit much." Said Guff sternly.
"Well then what do you suggest?" I snapped.
"I suggest that i keep draining him. If i keep him just above death he won't be strong enough to change."
"Fine but if he wakes up his ass is mine." With that said i continued down the tunnel.
