I jumped out of the car and grabbed DJ under the arms. It was all I could do to avoid the tranquilizer darts being shot at us.

"Come on, DJ." I said, as if he could hear me and actually be able to move.

He didn't respond. Big shocker there.

Eventually I managed to drag him into the van, but the guards were nearly on us. I pulled him inside and slammed the door shut.

"Someone take the wheel and get us out of here!" I yelled.

Oliver's eyes widened as he looked throught the rear windshield. "Seriously guys! We need to move NOW!" He leaned forward to lock the back doors, but it was too late.

A guard yanked one of the doors open, standing to the side. Another guard began firing darts into the van. There were more running up to join them both.

Oliver shielded his face with his hands. A sharp pain hit his arm.

"Step... onthe... gas..." he managed to get out before slumping, unconcious.

Eeek! Lol

Aylen-

When no one else made any attempt at sitting in the driver's seat, I tumbled over it. I threw the van into drive and punched the gas all the way down. My grandpa had taught me a thing or two about driving once. It wasn't that hard. I heard shrieks behind me as my comrades tumbled towards the back of the van. I heard a crunch and a painful scream as someone kicked the guard in the face and he tumbled out the back. The doors slammed shut and locked.

"Okay, now, where are we going?" I asked urgently.

Short and kinda crappy, I know, but hey, we're out of there XD

I had been bent over DJ, making sure he wasn't badly injured. He wasn't, just knocked out for a while. I had just turned my attention towards Oliver when Aylen moved the van forward.

"Okay, now, where are we going?" she asked.

I looked around the dark van, unable to clearly see the faces of any of the others. I doubted any of them had any great ideas of places besides the Asylum to be.

"Let's just focus on getting as far away from here as possible, then maybe someone knows of a place we can go." I said.

I sat down on the passenger seat next to Aylen and grabbed a map from the seat pocket.
"Go 15 miles north and then we should be on the interstate." I said.
"Damn! I'm driving in mud. Were not on a road." She shouted back, obviously very nervous.
"I noticed that." I snapped back. "But if you just keep going this direction for some time, then we'll come onto a small road. Go there for another 15 miles, and we'll be on the interstate. In the mean time, anyone have any ideas where we could go? We cant go home...".

Opening my eyes was an incredibly painful experience after being tranquilized, but I eventually managed it.

I groaned as I sat up against some solid object in the back of the van. The van was bouncing and throwing people around like crazy, everyone was being loud about it too.

Ada was sitting next to me, eyes closed, trying to keep still.

"Hey, Ada." I tapped her arm.

Her eyes flew open and she looked down at me. "What?"

"Do I look like me?" I asked.

She looked be over with an odd expression on her face, she wasn't used to being asked such questions. "Yes." she said at last.

"Mmm, good." I said, leaning back and closing my eyes again. I felt Ada's eyes boring into me though. I looked back to her. Her expression was full of concern and had a slight touch of worry to it. I couldn't think about that though, I was stull under the effects of the tranquilizer.

"Anyone have any ideas where we could go? We can't go home..." Ephraim asked.

The question was nearly useless. The people at the Asylum had found us once, they could find us again. Suddenly, an idea came to me though.

"I know." I said. "There is an abandoned facility in the desert. It's a few hours from here, but it's not used at all. It was the old test facility, I spent a lot of time there. While I'm not extremely excited to go back, no one will expect us to go there."

"Where is it." Ephraim asked. Suddenly a map was in front of my face and I was handed a black pen. I circled a spot on the map, in the middle of a desert. "There." I said.

Ephraim turned back around and began giving directions to Aylen.

"Oh, and one other thing." I said.

"What?" Ephraim asked without turning back to me.

"We are a red flag in this van, we need a new car. And as long as we all look the way we do, we will be easy to find. We need a new car, some hair dye, sizzors, and new clothes. No one is going to miss us in these Asylum uniforms." I explained.

Aylen-

My eyes widened and I almost slammed on the brakes. "I'm not in any objection to new clothes," I said slowly, "but don't you dare touch my hair!!"

Immediately as I finished saying it, a hand reached out and tugged at my ponytail. I instantly shot the hand with fire and it retracted quickly, accompanied by Guff's laugh. I growled quietly.

"Well you're not exactly blending in with hair like that," Ada said.

"What's wrong with it?" I asked.

"Please," she said, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Blonde with pink streaks?"

"They're subtle!" I complained.

She groaned. "At least dye it a different shade of blonde."

I rolled my eyes. "Fine. You are not cutting it, though."

"Alright, I'll give you that," she said.

"We should probably get another van though, or an SUV," Heron said. "I don't think we're all going to fit in a 5 person car." A chorus of agreement circled around the vehicle.

"But I don't think we have enough money to buy a car, even all of us together," someone said. Another round of agreement came from behind me.

"So then, why don't we steal one?" Mikael asked.

Everyone fell silent.

Oliver's eyes cracked open, and he moaned. "What... wha's going on? What happened? Could someone turn the light off?"

Guff smiled. "It's the sun, genius. We can't turn that off."

Oliver shifted in his chair. "Oh..." He frowned. "Did someone say something about stealing cars?"

Mikael's face was set. "We can't keep this van. They'll find us."

"Look, I don' even know what's going on. Could someone explain who those psychos were who put the sack over my head? And why do we need a car?" A panicked look crossed his face as he began to comprehend his situation. "I-I need to get home! Jenny and my parents... they don't know what happened to me! I saw what mom was like after I fell from the roof, I can't put her through that again!"

He made as though to get out of his chair.

Mikael

"You sit down right now!" I snarled pushing him back into his seat. "We need to get to the nearest city. I did not just escape from that place to go straight back! Guff, you and me will go trade in this thing. With the money you will buy a nice, fuel efficient SUV. While your doing that i'll steal us another car from the street. With that done, the invisible bubble over here will steal some hair dye and clothes. We will have to do the cutting and dying in the cars and burn everything after. Ok?" I asked threateningly. I had had my escape all planned out, just me and Guff. Now i had all this whining collateral do deal with. Stupid immature kids. Without me and Ada they didn't stand a chance.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Lauren - it's fine! I don't want Erome killed off yet :S and that was the only way she'd let 'em go. So, it's fine ^^

Heron

"Steal one?" someone said quietly.

Heron turned away, feeling nervous. She wasn't a criminal. So what if she'd been locked up for what felt like forever? Just because she'd been treated like one didn't mean she was. Well, she didn't know, did she. The Asylum was the only thing she could remember, who knows what she could have done before that. Who knows what she could have been.

She let her gaze drift over the back of the van, needing a distraction before sh teared up. She always felt like crying when she thought about that. It was scary how her past was just blank. She could have been anything. Could have done anything. Did she have a family that missed her? Or had they handed her over to the Asylum?

Who had she been?

She saw - for the first time - a couple of black, plastic files scattered on the floor of the van. Frowning, she bent forwards and picked them up. She saw what the documents were and quickly looked around at the others, making sure they hadn't seen her.

They hadn't. They were discussing something to do with parking-lots or towns nearby.

She turned her attention back to the files.

David Kent, 80369.
Harriet Mylenn, 35290.
Mackenzie Guff, 67201.

Her heart leapt. Mackenzie! She opened and flicked through. It was a report on everything about him. His ability, his personality ... his life before the Asylum.

She sat staring at the file for a few moments of stunned stupidity, and then tore through the others, seearching for her name. She was dimly aware that the others had taken notice of her strange behavior now.

Heron Fells, 22893.

YES!

She clasped her past tightly, like a worshiper holding something sacred. Then someone wrenched it away from her.

"Heron Fells, 22893?" someone murmured.

"Give it back!" she screeched. "It's mine!" She need to know her past now.

**I was thinking she and and Erome could be sisters, and this is how she finds out, then the others don't trust her. ^^ Crazy, I know :D**

I pushed Oliver back in his chair. "Listen, Oliver." I said. "Those guys who took you were employees for the Asylum. The Asylum is a place where they keep those of us with special abilities so they can try to cure us."

"As if we needed to be cured." Mikael grumbled.

"Anyways," I continued. "That's where you were being taken, while we were escaping. It's not a great place to be."

"Not at all." DJ added, showing off bruises up and down his arms that I had failed to notice earlier.

Oliver nodded, as if he had at least figured out most of that already. "Well just take me home, and you guys can continue on your escape."

He tried to push his wheelchair towards a van door as if he could just leave right now. Guff pulled him back. "Not a chance." he said.

"Oliver," I placed a hand on his shoulder. "You can't go home."

Heron placed her hand on his other shoulder. "They found you once, they'll find you again. It's better you stay away. You could put your entire family in danger if you are found hiding out there."

Olivers head dropped in defeat. He didn't say anything, and I could almost see a small drop of water fall from his face to his hands folded in his lap.

"Anyone know a good, and preferably legal, way to get ourselves a new van?" I asked. "Does anyone's family live nearby who owns a big enough van?"

Oliver was quiet for a few moments as he attempted to pull himself together. It was a daunting prospect, never being able to see his family again. He'd fall off the roof of his house all over again if he could just tell Jenny and his parents that he was okay.

He took a shaky breath and looked up at Ada. "We don't know where we are. How would we know if anyone lived near enough for us to get a van from their house?"

I leaned forward and looked out the window. It seemed as if we had made our way onto a more major rode now. Signs were flying by. "Looks like...Wisconsin." I said after recognizing some of the city names. "Anyone live in Wisconsin?"

Oliver shifted so he could see out the window better. "I live in Wisconson, though it doesn't make much difference..." He took another deep, shuddering breath.

DJ glanced back at him. "Do you recognize where we are?"

"Wisconson's a pretty big state, and I had a bag on my head during the trip." Oliver frowned. "Although... you know, I think I might have been this way a few months ago."

((I'm leaving tomorrow night to go to Colorado and won't be back until Sunday.))
