As the battle ensued I just sat back in the elevator and watched. I had no clue that there was even close to this amount of guards in the Asylum. Or at least not there on a regular basis. The only time I had seen so many was when I was captured, and recaptured.

"Are you okay?" My rescuer said, her face was close to mine and she was staring straight into my eyes as if they would give away my entire life story.

"I remember you." I said.

She looked at me oddly for a moment before responding. "We were both in the dangers ward a long time ago."

"You escaped from the dangers ward?" I asked. That would have been an astonishing feat by any person, but especially from a level five danger as I had been. She would have had to have been level five to have known me there.

"No, they let me go." she said. "Now are you okay or not?"

I smiled at her. "Healing up nicely."

Before the conversation could continue any further, the battle became apparant again.

"Back in the elevator!" someone was yelling.

It seemed as if the who ordeal would be getting much more interesting.

Ada Graves

Mikael pushed me back towards the elevator, and eventually back inside.

"What are we doing?" I demanded.

Guff was soon right up by me. "You control fire?" he said.

"Yes, why should that matter right now?"

"Set off the sprinklers." he said. He then turned to Ephraim, "Electrify the water when the sprinklers start."

I didn't protest much more, the guards were closing in with tranquilizers and tazers. I quickly found the tiny metal sprinklers hanging on the ceiling and shot a streak of fire towards it, only burning a few guards on the way.

Ephraim then let his electricity free on the guards. They all shuddered and fell to the ground, just as if we had tazered them all.

"Let's go!" Mikael said.

Everyone jumped out of the elevator and I - with the assistance of Heron - brought the newest member of our group along with us.

"So what's your name?" Heron asked him as we made our way through the halls.

"Donnovan James McKay, known to all as DJ." he said in a sing-song voice.

"I'm Heron." Heron said.

I felt DJ's eyes shift to me. "I'm Ada."

Suddenly my vision fell away and I saw more guards running toward us, only we weren't in the halls of the Asylum anymore, we were running across the grounds toward a fence that blocked the Asylum off from society, and a great forest that stood on the other side. The vision stopped before I could see if we made it.

"Mikael!" I yelled. "I know where we should be going!"

Just before we left the hallway, I blew all the unconscious guards into an empty room with a blast of wind and locked the door behind me. When we got outside, however, Mikael led us in some random direction, like he knew where we were supposed to be going.

"Mikael!" Ada called from in front of me. "I know where we should be going!"

"Yeah, so do I, and this isn't it!" I added. We all stopped and everyone looked to me and Ada.

"C'mon," I said as calmly as possible, and ran towards the corner of the two buildings where the energy was found.

Of course, though, the way there was straight where the guards were coming from. I enclosed them in a thick cage of vines, knowing that they'd have to shoot their way out of it. I grinned wickedly and kept running. Finally, we made it. I slipped in through the narrow opening and into the spacious clearing. Everyone fell in right after.

Kinda short, and it sucks, I know, but it got us there ;)

** Haven't posted for her for a while. Watch out, guys. She's out and terribly angry

Erome

"So where have they gone?" Eome asked Maxwell sharply.

He jingled his keys in his trouser pocket. A nervous habit of his, even if the big grin that split his face in half made him look more smug than nervous.

"Locked in the dangers ward..." he smirked.

She clenched her jaw. "Listen Maxwell, and listen good. Mention the dangers ward just once more..."

He paled and the smirk faded from his face. "But you have to admit ... it was... ironic."

She glared at him, her anger rising. "Tell. Me. Where. They. Went."

"The last reports we got were them heading towards the weak zone a the back. We, um, don't have anything more recent."

"When was this report?"

"Half an hour ago."

"Dammit, Maxwell! They could have gone anywhere in that time! They could have-" Erome stopped and thought. A sly smile appeared when she realised. "The forest."

"Excuse me?"

Erome wasted no time on him. She was off, running towards the forest. All those who tried to escape headed there. These wouldn't be any different.

Try to escape and I'll shed you with my lightening.

As soon as reached the weak spot i felt a jolt of power. Perfect, i thought watching as the meatl of my fingers bacame vicious perfect claws. I took a swipe at the fence and fell to my knees, several thousand volts ripping their way through my body.
"Are you alright?" Asked Ada looking worriedly down at me.
"Never better" i smiled looking up at her before spitting at a gobule of bloody spit.
"Leav this to me." Guff bowed theatrically and i watched with intrest as the gate began to rust, the deathly miasma of age creeping through the fence. Aylen waved her hand and the fence exploded outwards in shower of rusty flakes.
"We did it!" Shreiked Ada.
"No time to celebrate now!" I shouted looking back to see a wall of guards, all guns and batons, bristling with menace. The others began streaming out of the freshly made hole.
"Mikael come on," called Ada.
"Yeah man let's get moving," shouted Guff.
"Just go, i'll be right behnd you." I lied.
"Oh no you don't," grinned Guff. "This is no time for heroics. We slow them down and we cath up with the others in the forest capiche?"
"Sure," i grinned guiltily. Almost instantly the guards equipment began to fall apart as peices aged indefinitely. Without their equipment, they look a lot less sure of themselves when i approached all glistining steel brimming with pent up frustraton that even now, when we had taken back what was rightfully ours, these people kept trying to bring us back. My clawed hands changed into large, thick headed clubs. I wasn't going to sink to their level and kill but boy was i going to leave a dent.

We had finally made it! Running into the forest, and away from the Asylum, felt fantastic. It felt...free.

The others were cheering as we ran, all estatic to be out. Mikael and Guff had stayed behind to slow the guards down, but they were even happier than any of us had been in years.

Suddenly, I tripped and landed on the ground. A vision popped up before my eyes and left me imobile in the cool forest dirt.

The scene that flashed before my eyes was not a pleasent one. It mostly consisted of the guards dragging us back to the Asylum. None of us made it out.

I woke up to Aylen, Heron, and DJ staring at me.

"Are you okay?" Heron asked.

I shook my head. "We have to get out of here, and not through the forest." I quickly explained my vision and the rest of the group mirrored my emotions. We were stuck.

"I've got it." DJ said.

I looked to where his voice had come from, but I didn't see DJ. Instead I saw a lanky boy with bright red hair standing two inches shorter than me.

"Who the hell are you?" Aylen asked.

"DJ." he said. Everyone still had confused looks on their faces, unable to believe this kid was DJ. "I'm a shapeshifter." he explained.

"How is that gonna help?" Aylen asked.

"Some of my aliases have powers, this one can make things invisible. Something with manipulating light I think, but that isn't important."

DJ soon had a shield around all of us, making us invisible, and we were running back to get Mikael and Guff.

-----
Okay, so with DJ having some "extra powers". None of them are entirely too powerful and they really drain his energy so he can't use them very long. Just so everyone knows.

I stomp angrily toward the mass of now unarmed guards. My every foot fall leaving a dent in the floor.
"Not so tough now are you?" I shouted at the mass. "Without your precious toys you don't stand a chance. Anyone that leaves now need not fear retribution from us. Any who stay will fall with the rest."
Slowly some of the guards ob the wings began to fall away.
"Where do you think your going?" Shouted an all too familiar female voice. At the sounds, many of the guards quickly dived back into the crowd. "Don't be afraid of these animals! They don't have the guts to kill." I looked more closey at the source of the sound. It was the female guard from earlier now surrounded in a worrying storm of wind and lightning.
"I warned you!" She screeched. "I told you i would get you if you tried to escape and now here we are."
Why are you doing this? You are like us!" I shouted back.
"I am nothing like you!" She screamed. Suddenly lightning rained down from the sky striking me. Thankfully my skin acted as a lightning rod and the blast was safely earthed.
"Come on! Surely you understand why we can't willing stay here!"
"Shut up! Just shut up!" She shouted more and more lightning falling from the sky.
"No!" I said calmly, my words peircing the wall of lightning. I began my slow inexplicable march towards her. If i could take her down the other guards were leave fearing our wrath.

*Could Guff use his power and freak her out then the invisibubble come and save us??*

Oliver pounded the buttons on the video game's controller, a grin spreading across his face. Just a few seconds, and he'd have beaten his best time. Almost there...

"WHOO!" He laughed. "Jenny, look at this, I-" He frowned. His sister was at school, right. And his mom and dad were at work. It was irritating, being at home without anyone to talk to. Or drive him somewhere if he needed it. Sure, his car was getting adjusted so he could actually use it, but life would be a whole lot easier if he hadn't fallen off the roof to begin with.

He rolled his wheelchair over to the game console and turned it off. Ah, whatever. They'd be back in a few hours.

His heart suddenly leapt as he heard the sound of a car pulling up into the driveway. Speak of the devil! He pulled up to the front door and looked eagerly out the window.

Two unmarked black vans had pulled up. People were spilling out of both, all wearing similar dark uniforms. They were armed.

"Crap." Oliver had no idea what was going on, but if they were coming for him there was no way he'd come quietly. As quickly as he could, he situated himself by the door.

As soon as the first guard charged into the house, Oliver grabbed ahold of the man's hand. In an instant he was the one standing in the doorway with a gun; he looked down to see the guard trapped in his own broken body. The man looked completely befuddled.

Oliver spun to face the others and found himself looking down the barrel of a gun. "Drop the weapon and switch back. Now." The woman holding the gun pulled back the hammer.

He let go of the gun and heard it clatter to the floor. His eyes were still fixed on the twenty or so guards still making their way up the sidewalk. She made an impatient gesture with the gun, and Oliver touched his body's trembling hand.

As soon as he was back in his original body, someone pulled a sack over his head. He felt someone else strap his arms to his armrests so he couldn't reach out and grab anyone else. Then they were moving. He felt the carpet turn to cement under his wheels, then his chair was lifted bodily into what he supposed was the back of one of the vans.

Someone was mumbling to a squawking two way radio. "Yes, I understand sir. We'll be there ASAP." The radio clicked off. "Hurry up, there's a situation back at the asylum. Some of the prisoners are escaping." And then the van doors slammed shut.

Asylum? Prisoners? Oliver wasn't sure whether he should be relieved or suspicious. So maybe they don't plan on killing me.

The vans took off at what felt like breakneck speed. Oliver supposed that they'd fastened his chair down because it wasn't rolling anywhere. After about half an hour, though it felt like more, the ground became very bumpy as though they'd gone off the road.

"They're supposedly in this forest. Keep your eyes open for any sign of movement." The van stopped, and he could hear the noise of the guards leaving the van. Soon everything was silent.

We ran towards the main battle, I guess it could be called a battle by now. More guards were spilling out into the open area. I wondered momentarily who was left to watch the rest of the prisoners.

As we approached where Mikael and Ephraim were, I noticed two guards running from a van to join the fight. They left the van completely unattended.

"Get Mikael and Ephraim!" I instructed the others, yelling over the noise of the fighting. "Then meet me at that van!"

I sprinted off out of cover of the shield and to the van. I made good time and was only grazed by any weapons or attacks. I pulled the van door open and jumped inside.

"What the heck is going on?" a voice asked from the back of the van.

I turned to the source of the voice. "Who are you?"

"Oliver, who are you? And what is going on?"

He must be a recent capture, not even clued in to what is happening. "I'm Ada, you are at the Asylum. You don't want to be at the Asylum."

"Uhm, okay?"

"You can escape with us." I told him. I then turned back around and moved into the drivers seat. I sure hoped driving wouldn't be hard, as it seemed I was stuck getting us out of this place.

Escape? Thank God, these must be the prisoners his captors had been talking about. Now if only someone would take the bag off his head...

Oliver moved his head back and forth, trying to pinpoint the source of the voice. It seemed to be coming from behind him. As he heard the engine start, he realized he must be facing the back of the van.

"Wait... Ada, how old are you?" he asked nervously as the van began to move.

"Seventeen, why?" The machine lurched ominously. "Sorry!"

"I was just trying to figure out if you were really the person we wanted driving the getaway vehicle."

"Uh, I've never actually driven before," Ada replied. She sounded distracted, which was understandable. The van swung around, and Oliver hit his side against his armrest. "They don't really have a reason to teach us about automobiles here."

Oliver groaned. They were going to die. Unless...

"How much time do we have? Are they on top of us, or do we have a little bit before we need to take off?"

"Uh..."

"Look, if you don't think you can handle this, climb back here and grab my wrist. I could switch bodies with you and get us out of here."

"Why couldn't you just drive yourself?" she asked. The van jerked again as they drove over something, hopefully not a person. "If I go through the trouble of getting back there, I could just untie you or whatever and you could do it."

Oliver frowned. "Trust me, my body's in no condition to be driving anything right now."

I stopped my attempts at driving and looked back to Oliver. I immedeatly noticed the bag on his head and the wheel chair he was sitting in. I quickly removed the bag from his head so I could see his face.

"I will let you switch bodies with me." I said. He reached his hand forward but I pulled back just in time. "I'm going with the assumption that I will eventually be back in my own body and in fine condition."

"Of course." he confirmed.

"One more thing." I said as he started reaching his hand forward again. "There are others who are coming too. You must not leave until they are in this van."

"Gotcha." He said. He reached his arm forward and I grabbed his wrist.

** I'll post for Heron sometime, but I'm on holiday with the only way to post via my phone. Why did I have to go at such an important time?!**
Erome
"No," he said, stepping forwards.
"No?" she echoed, incredulous. "Do you think you can fight me and win? Have you any idea?!"
"I'm not staying here."
Looking at him, she saw the determination in his eyes and knew he would do whatever possible to escape. The fight would be a desperate struggle; with the loser either ending up dead or whishing they were. **don't worry - I won't kill off anyone's character. It's just how she thinks.**
So be it.
Erome closed her eyes and lifted her face to the growing storm.

Oliver blinked in the sudden light when she yanked the bag from his head. The first thing he noticed was that Ada was rather nice looking. The second thing was that there appeared to be a battle raging outside the van.

After he agreed to her terms, she reached forward and grabbed his wrist. It took no more than a thought to initiate the switch.

There was a split second, just like always, in which Oliver and Ada experienced an odd sensation of weightlessness, and everything was black.

Then Oliver was in Ada's body. He shifted her legs with a satisfied smile, then unstrapped his body's wrists from his armrests.

"This is really weird," Ada said with a frown, prodding Oliver's body's leg. She couldn't feel it at all.

"Eh, I got used to it." Ada's voice was higher pitched than his own, and it startled him a little. It had been a while since he'd switched with someone, barring the guard at the house; it was always a bizarre experience. Pushing these thoughts to the back of his mind, Oliver swung himself into the driver's seat with surprising agility. "So who are the friends we're waiting for again?"

"Huh?" came his own voice. "Oh, there's Mikael, and Ephraim... Guff, can't forget him, and DJ, Aylen, and Heron..."

Oliver sighed and ran 'his' hand through 'his' hair. "Okay, just keep an eye out and tell me when there's someone for us to pick up. In the meantime, I suppose they've captured all of us because we have powers, right?" He'd thought it through, and it seemed to make the most sense. The guard knew what he'd done in the house, and Ada wasn't surprised by the body-switching thing either.

Ada nodded.

"So what's yours?"
