I'm bored so I'm going to post something random :D

Becca

I was a bit tired and poofed to my room. I layed my dress *carefully* on my bed, aong with my mask. I quickly poofed back to the bench Joshua and I had been sitting on a moment ago. Where was Elizabeth?

I watched the people bustle by. I wondered if Vincent knew about me yet? Would he be angry? I smirked. Of course he would. I do wonder what he'll say to me at the ball. If he'll even address me at all. That's fine by me. He avoids me and I avoid him.

My hair twisted around my face and I pushed it away angrily. Elizabeth had better hurry up or I would leave. No sooner had I thought those words did she appear beside me.

"Sorry I'm late," she breathed. "I was a little busy." I smiled.

"Aren't you always?" I asked. She nodded a little too seriously and I couldn't help but chuckle.

Vincent

He heard her call. The beckon was irrestistable, as was always when there was a broken heart. Only he could sense the anguish and misery down inside everyone's hearts. Most people, if they were surrounded by that never ending sense of hopelessness and grief, would have gone mad already, lost in suicidal and maniacal thoughts. He felt a twinge of regret at that thought for that was truly what most people thought he was. Maniacal and eccentric.

"Vincent! It is me, Leslie." Her voice pierced through the darkness, calling him ever closer, her voice astonishing, the same with the sound of her beating heart.

As he strode quickly threw the hallway the lights flickered on, lighting the path in which he came. Sure enough he burst through a door and she was standing there, long hair falling around her, eyes seeming to try to pry him of any emotion.

"Hello madam." He bowed lightly. He flickered a black rose out of nothing and presented it to her, his lips curling into a smile. "And how might I be able to help you this evening? Aren't you going to my ball?" He looked at her sensing her anxiety flare, and slight annoyance find its way in a scowl on her face.

"Well, it seems that might not be happening. I do not have an escort."

"I believe there was that man, Ray was his name? I sensed that there was desire in his petty little mind to take you to this memorial." Vincent looked down at her, smiling broader when he saw her eyes widen. So he had already asked.

"What makes you believe that sir?" She tried to say, trying to hold back her light surprise but failing horribly. Vincent could also hear a small pleading from her heart, pleading of hope for something he did not recognize, something that he himself seemed to never have felt before. He felt himself becoming curious but he would not pry.

"It is a dead give away. He fancies you. There will be no escaping him there even if you do refuse him." Vincent chuckled lightly yet his eyes were emotionless. If anyone was to look at them they would believe there was nothing there. Some people had said that eyes were the windows to ones soul. But what if one had no soul?

-----------------------------

Did I get your character right JC? xD
Also, I figured that Vincent can manipulate people using their emotions that could be identified by the beat of their heart, but there are some he does not recognize either because he has not experienced it or he chose to forget it. (This case, the desire for love was chosen to be forgotten.)

"Wow, your friends in for a surprise then" He said smiling, "Maybe you could come out with me sometime, If you'd like?"

"Erm..." She said playing with her blonde hair.

"You dont have to, I mean, I could ask someone else." Leo said slightly disappointed, "I just thought you might need a reason to wear the dress again"

"No, no, your quite right." I said smiling, while adding, "How bout' the day after tomorrow?" I asked. It couldn't hurt to help him, he just wanted to be with someone. Anyways I'm sure his human mind will make him forget about little ole me.

"Sure, I'll come by around seven." He said, as i handed my address. I smiled and told him farewell as i rushed home to try on my costume, all together.

I slipped on the blue dress and stuck on my mask and twirled in front of my mirror. I was wearing converse, yes, those are the shoes I'm planning on wearing to the ball. I tried an old ballet move I remembered, slowly one foot following the other I crossed the room on my toes. I turned on the music with a bow, it was beautiful music. this is a precious song to me, truly

I slowly danced with the air, keeping all my moves on the spot. My hair swished as it followed my movements, what a classic. As it neared it's end I did three twirls on my toe and bowed to my invisible partner.

"Hmm, what a classic." I sighed, heading in for the night.

I love the song, it was played at my grandma's funeral. It is lovely though, isn't it?

*Lilly*

I left my room to go out to the garden. I was happy, and being in the garden always made me happier. I went over to the rose bed and knelt down. I loved our roses. They were some of the best around. They smelled wonderful and looked even better. I also needed to get some flowers to make my famous fleurs de sucre, or sugar flowers. I didn't make them a lot, but everyone liked them.

I cut some glads and lilies and was headed back to start to make them when I heard something. Footsteps, coming my way.

I ducked behind a rose bush, peering out to see who it was.

It took a few seconds, but the person finally came into the moonlight.

It was Ray.

I didn't mind Ray. He was an okay guy. I knew that he liked to interfere in nightmares, but he had never done so in mine, so he was okay in my book.

I stood up and smiled when he jumped and put a hand to his chest in surprise. "Lilly, you scared the crap out of me!"

"Way to point out the obvious." I said smiling wider. "What are you doing out here?"

"Just walking." he replied shrugging. Then, he noticed my flowers. "What are those for?"

"I was going to make the sugar flowers tonight." I said, shifting them to another arm.

"Ohh." he said, licking his lips. "I can't wait!" A look of confusion came over his face. "I thought you were angry."

"I was." I said looking away.

"Why were you so mad? I heard that you threatened Leslie again." he said stepping closer.

"well, first she came to try and take my nightmare, and then she got mouthy." I said defiantly. "You know I won't tolerate her."

He sighed. "Yeah, I've noticed."

"You have feelings for her." I stated.

He grinned. "Yeah, she I do, but she has feelings for Vincent. I guess I can understand why though."

"Okay, Ray, here's what I'll do." He looked up at me, eyebrows raised. "I like you. You're cool, so I'm going to try and get Leslie to go with you to the ball."

"How are you going to do that? She hates you."

A humorless smile curved my lips. "Oh, trust me Ray, I have many tricks up my sleeve."
We're all a bit mad...

**gasp* Can't wait to see how this one works out xD*

Leslie~

But I don't want to go with Ray. I don't want to fancy him. I want you, can't you see that you dingy bonehead??

Maybe he did know I was madly in love with him. Maybe he didn't. But the one thing I did know was that I was in no way going to go with Ray to the ball.

I stormed out of the courtroom, bumping into Lilly. Which under normal cirumstances, I would be disgusted to bump into her. But today, she stepped out of line. I was delighted to bump into her because it was punishment time.

"I'm so sorry, Lilly!" I said, laced with sarcasm, dripping in falsehood.

"You can't watch what nightmare you go into or where you're going, huh?" Lilly hissed.

"Hmmm, maybe. But you know what's for sure? You can't watch your head!" I said, laughing.

Lilly looked at me confused, but then I made a bowl of spaghetti spill right on top of her, spilling sauce all of her shirt.

I had talked with Elizabeth for awhile but ended up leaving her early. I really just wanted to relax in my room.

I slammed the room and sat on the couch. I felt myself skip into another nightmare. Time to fix it.

I was in an amusement park. A little boy screamed for his mother. She must have accidentally left him. I was about to reach out for him when a sickening drop made my stomach lurch. What if this was Leslie's nightmare. I may not be afraid of her, but was it smart to screw with her twice in one day? I brushed it off. How could I have picked her nightmare out of the millions there was to choose from.

"Chris!" I shouted at the little boy, who was now crying in the middle of the street. I had transformed into his mother. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Mommy!" Chris yelled, hugging me. I smiled and walked with him.

"I think it's time to go home, sweetie," I replied. He nodded, enthusiastically. I took him to the car and told him to wait there. I smiled to myself and dissapeared, leaving the boy to his dreams.

I stretched and sprawled across my couch. It had been a pretty productive day. I had stopped two nightmares, turning them into pleasant dreams.

Vincent

He trailed after her, following her in her wake, her not even suspecting a thing. What a bizarre one she was. Certainly, if it was anyone else, they would have noticed his footsteps, but again a human saying comes into hand here, 'blinded by rage'. Certainly, she was angry, but for what reason befuddled him and that was the reason why he stalked her now.

Vincent watched as she accidentally bumped into Lilly, who seemed to jump at first but sneered at her after words. Not many people would have noticed, but Vincent caught the alarm in her gestures. She was standing by the man Ray, who seemed to be fairly alarmed also at Leslie's arrival, and to verify his suspicion, Ray seemed to perfectly fancy her.

The were talking, discussing something, anger evident. Something was going on between his minions. Then all of a sudden he saw the spaghetti bowl above Lilly and watched it fall without even bothering to stop it which would have been possible. He enjoyed her flustered reaction, jumping back alarmed, the spaghetti all down her shirt front. How... immature.

Vincent ambled out of the shadows and towards the group, making sure his footsteps were audible. All their heads snapped over to look at him in what seemed like surprise.

"Lilly, it seems you have some left overs from dinner on your shirt." Vincent spoke lightly, raising his eyebrows and letting a sly smirk appear on his face.

"Well, uh..." She began but Vincent made her be quiet when he reached out and grabbed a strand of a noodle from her hair. He looked at it playfully.

"Might I say, I think spaghetti could possibly be your colour." Vincent snapped his fingers and all the spaghetti was gone, disappeared out of sight, her shirt left sparkling clean. "What is going on between you two? I don't like my two precious girls fighting." A large red apple appeared from nowhere in front of him and he reached out and grabbed it, settling himself with taking a bite.

Leslie~

"Precious girls? Precious girls? Or is it precious girl?" I exclaimed at Vincent, slightly angered that he ruined my prank yet fuming over his comment, bringing up everything Ray said again.

"There's only one precious girl here and that's Lilly. I know you're taking her to the ball. Secret over." I said, tears starting to fall down my cheeks. I hugged Moses hard so that his plush little head was on my chin.

*This remains short because I have no idea how Vincent or Lilly will react.*

“Really?” This came as a surprise to me. “I suppose this is a good thing if I’m always happy, but if I’m severely depressed this could pose to be a serious problem.” I chuckled a bit, “Yet I thank you, as I shall receive that as a compliment, just as you did.”

Jared was an interesting person to speak with, and I enjoy his company. Best of all, he thinks. If someone doesn’t think for him or herself, than their existence is futile. His was obviously not, so my time with him wasn’t a waste.

He smiled, and I realized how much of an attractive person he was. “It was meant as one.”

“If it wasn’t, I may have had the urge to transport to another dimension, never to return. Since it was a compliment, I’ll refrain from doing so.”

“That’s good news.” He smiled again, his eyes shining.

Okay, this is AliceRose talking :smt039 and I just want you guys to know that I am REALLY liking this story so far. You guys are great writers and I love the way we play off of each other. :smt005

Okay, back to the story

*Lilly*

Vincent and I looked at each other in surprise.

"You're taking me to the ball?" I asked, not bothering to try and hid my surprise.

He shrugged, neither confirming or denying it.

I looked back at her. "Leslie, if he was taking me I had no idea. Where did you get this information from anyway?" I asked.

"Well, I heard..." her voice drifted away with the next onslaught of tears.

I sighed with exasperation. "Oh my gosh, get over it!" I said, anger hitting me again. "Your mood swings are really starting to give me gray hair, Leslie."

Vincent looked at me with mild amusement. "Quite the little warrior, aren't we Lilly?"

Blood rushed to my cheeks but I said nothing. I just looked to Ray and told him softly, "I'll have to talk with her later. Now's not the best time." I looked back at the group as a whole. "Okay, which one of you wants a fleur de sucres?" I asked.

All of them perked up. "I want one!" exclaimed Ray. Leslie looked at me with wide eyes, indicating that she wanted one, and Vincent smiled a smile that slightly warmed his eyes.

As we all made our way up to my room, he came up behind me and whispered, "I want to speak with you later, in private."

I guess Vincent wants to talk to Lilly 'in private' later. ;)

Vincent

As they made it to her room, the door automatically flung open welcomely. Vincent gazed over at Lilly, noting the small smile on her lips, and automatically knew it was her who opened the door. He couldn't help feel curious. He did not undertsand her, she was tricky to read unlike Leslie who let her emotions run wild.

Vincent walked in, barely noting his surroundings and without a thought sat down on the small couch there, earning a suspicious look from Leslie who ended up sitting right beside him, but she was increasingly tense. Ray sat in one of the arm chairs, watching them, his usual smile was graced across his face which was a wonderment to Vincent. Obviously there was something wrong with this man's head.

"I would just like to forewarn you," Vincent spoke carefully and calmly, hands resting on his knees precariously, "that I am not very impressed at the moment. A dream maker, being unchecked has so graciously made two of our nightmares into pleasantries. I would like you to keep a closer eye on your nightmares from now on, because obviously with out a king to enforce the rules, they feel like they can do anything these days."

Lilly, whose back was turned, obviously finishing up her fleur de sucres, glanced over her shoulder at him, looking slightly flushed. "But ah, this really doesn't matter at this moment in time. This is our break, no use talking business. We don't want to bore Ray now." She seemed to nervously laugh after that.

Vincent felt himself smirk at her slight distress. It flattered her.

"I am slightly curious Leslie," Vincent began. "Who told you that I was going to the celebration with Lilly."

She seemed to sniffle now, nearly breaking out in tears again. She held Moses close, and Vincent bet that if someone tried to take it, she would bite their hand off. "Ray did."

"Oh really." Vincent's eyebrows raised lightly in amusement. He never knew Ray would go to those lengths. He turned his vision to examine Ray who's smile had seemed to falter and he was looking directly at Leslie, eyeing her almost cautiously. "Ray, where did you here such a thing? If I actually was going to take someone to the ball, I doubt it would be one of my own kind." Lilly seemed to stiffen lightly, Leslie seemed to clutch Moses tighter and Ray looked at Vincent in mock surprise.

"But Leslie said she would not go with me, because she said she was already going with you." Ray responded lightly.

"Well, oh dear, I believe we may have a misunderstanding going on at the moment. I was not planning on taking anyone to this ball, I daresay. I was going to try to maintain the host and not get... distracted." Vincents smile broadened as he watched all of them looking at each other with nervous glances, distrustful stares, ragged breaths.

I have to agree Alice. This is very interesting and probably my favorite to read and comment in. (:

Becca

I looked over my dress...again. I loved it. It was gorgeous. I definitely wasn't going to wear heels to the ball. No matter how formal it was. They hurt my feet and they were so incredibly uncomfortable.

I decided to go with my silver flats. They would be comfy and wouldn't stick out like my normal flip flops and converse. I checked my dream again and saw the mother had come, right on schedule. I smiled. The little boys worries were long behind him.

I thought about Leslie. How could she be so heartless. Causing nightmares. I understood that her infatuation with Vincent might have something to do with it, but she actually enjoyed the pain humans felt. I cringed. That's horrible.

I hoped I wouldn't have to see her again. I knew that this was impossible, for we both hated each other. After all, she was a tainted dream creator, and I was just a regular dream creator. We don't get along. Just as long as she leaves me be at the ball. I knew I probably shouldn't go. Not with all of the excitment going on, but I was excited about seeing Joshua again. I could actually talk to him. I wasn't the weird girl around him. I was just Becca.

I went over to my goldfish bowl and dipped out a spoonful of food. I normally hated television. There was nothing interesting about it, but there was nothing else to do. Nothing but wait until tomorrow. Wow, I seriously have no life, I thought, laughing.

**Sorry LaReina but you're taking awhile to reply so I'm dragging you along XD**

Joshua

"It's Lupis," he replied whimsically before standing up, the chair poofing away without a second thought. Joshua looked down where the chair once was, surprised. It wasnt just any dream creator who could do that. "Pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasure is all mine," he replied abstractly, eyes turning up to meet lupus's expectant ones. "But I really must be heading off. I will be terribly late for my appointment if not..."

"To the castle of night?" Lupus asked excitedly. "Oh dear! I will definitly join in this little crusade."

"No really..."

"Oh I insist," he started walking towards the castle of night, his hands behind his back as he did so. "Come along. You're slowing me down!"

Joshua rolled his eyes before taking after Lupus quickly.

When they reached the castle of night though, the lawnchair that Lupus had been sitting in erupted from that nowhere that he sent it and he sat down again, staring at the building.

"Now you go along, young chap," he just waved him off. "You have buisness to attend to, I'm sure. I'll just wait here and stare."

"As.. you wish," Joshua looked at him once more then turned towards the large darkened mahogany wood doors. "I shall be back..."

"Yep," Lupus just waved him off.

Joshua stared up at the large doors, his eyes wide in the same way they always seemed to be when he stared up at the large darkened building. It was terribly intimidating. Finally, he grabbed the dark snake door knocker and clanked it against the door a few times then waited.
