**Ech, just do what you can. I'll try speeding up my conversations with Joshua and Vincent so we can get to the ball.. but try interacting with new people. Maybe try bringing Brit in to help Pokerface out if thats alright with you.**

There was a woman running from snakes, so it seemed. Thousands of emerald green snakes slithering after her in an attempt at eating her. Of course, we entered at just the time to see Becca putting up a barrier between the woman and the snakes. Becca smiled, then waved her hands and disappeared away, the woman who had been screaming was now standing, no longer afraid.

"You see that?" Vincent asked. "That is what shouldnt have happened, what shouldnt have ever occured. I need a king Joshua, a king and one soon. These blasted dreams keep taking over and I will not have my kingdom being over-runned."

Suddenly, a girl Joshua had never seen before entered the dream, a tainted dream creator to be exact, her eyes flaring as she brought the nightmare back to its original state. Everything seemed to happen in a blink of an eye, but in that time span, Becca had returned and there were many threats given. By the time things were starting to heat up, Joshua could feel his anger rising, his fingers clenched.

"You want to do what you want to do Joshua," Vincent chuckled. "Do it."

"Do what exactly?" Joshua asked through clenched teeth.

"Ending this dream and ending this nightmare. End it all now before they can fight with eachother furthur and maybe you'll be able to save them all some grief. You can do it.. I see it in your eyes." These words pierced down his flesh like a knife across his skin. He bit his lip until finally he closed his eyes.

The power he held sapped through him and suddenly everything went black. When he opened his eyes, they were sitting back in the castle of night, Vincent in his throne.

"Good job," Vincent clapped. "Quite a noble thing to do. You really outdid yourself."

"What did I..."

"You ended the dream, or shall I call it a nightmare. You closed it before it could get any worse and made the creators believe that the woman woke up. You did well, walker of dreams." Vincent was laughing maniacally now.

"I did?" Joshua was speechless.

Oh bother. Stupid, Lilly. Think she can boss me around? Well, I'll show her. I'll show her! Ray is mine. I thought as I took the shape of a bird and flew around Somnium to find Ray. Before I knew it, I found him sitting on the ground by a river, reading a book.

"Ray, you're going to the ball with me." I said, barely even looking at him. I didn't want him to get the impression that I wanted to go with him. I almost wanted him to get the impression that I didn't want to go with him.

"C'mon get up. We're going home so you can help me pick the perfect dress." I said, tugging his arm.

Ray

Ray smiled to himself, turning a page in his book as Leslie tugged at his sleeve. Well well. Looks like Lilly managed what she said she would. Even if Leslie seemed to be pretending that she didn't have even the slightest desire to go with him, he knew there had to be at least some there, even in her subconscious. After all, if she truly despised him in the sense she made out to, she wouldn't have decided to go with him, regardless of Lilly's machinations.

"Come on Ray." She said, "I don't have all day, you know."

He closed the book and tossed it aside, making it disappear, trying not to grin ear to ear as he stood up. It was an effort, and though he managed it, he couldn't hold back a small smile, "Very well, my dearest Leslie," he said. Here, he was not entirely serious. Though he did indeed fancy Leslie - a lot - it was in his nature to mock a little. Especially after her previous attitude that had implied she wouldn't even consider going to the ball with him.

He took her hands in his, laughter in his eyes. Then, before she could protest or pull her hands away, they were standing directly in front of one of the dress shops in Somnium. Still holding hands, which was no doubt somewhat embarrassing for Leslie. After all, who would have expected that the tainted creator who seemed to fawn after Vincent would let herself be seen settling for someone like Ray. After all, he was known for going through phases in the past during which he'd ruin nightmares with the frequency of Becca.

As things stood, Leslie was actually somewhat lucky. Ray's original plan had been to kiss her on arrival, just to embarrass her a little more. But he had decided not to push his luck. He did, after all, want her to feel the same way about him eventually.

The woman screamed in terror.

"Kyle!"

I looked around. We were in the woods. Kyle was her brother. She started to cry as animals surrouded her, making loud noises. Well this was just unnatural. She's watched way to many movies. I transformed into her brother.

"Penny!" I yelled, running towards her. She didn't look up. "Penny!" Her head moved a little and when she finally had the nerve to look at me she crahed in me. I smiled.

"Hey," I replied.

"Why did you run from me? I was terryfied!" She screached. "Let's just go home." I walked with her out of the woods leading her to her house.

The need to walk of my shot nerves preceeded all. Jared had shocked me into this unfamiliar state. Sun set.

"That was fascinating. I don't believe I'll be able to rest tonight-not until the crepuscule." I was speaking into the air, and some looked at me strangely. Their lack of intellectualization did not bother me as much as it would have before, so I did not repremand them. Instead I gave them a smile and moved on.

After a few steps, I chided myself; my actions were incredibly uncharacteristic. I nearly turned around to reproach them, but did not. The deed was done.

Forcing my thoughts off of the charming Jared, I continued without another anomaly. After putting my beautiful gown in it's rightful place in my wardrobe (I actually did own a wardrobe instead of a closet) I threw myself into a dream.

I was pleased that it wasn't a nightmare, many dream creators were stumbling into them lately but, at the moment, I did not wish to end one. Another abnormality; ending nightmares often made people remember them. Being frightened then, quite suddenly, not--it can have an incredible effect on people.

Before I started influencing the dream, I watched the dream carefully. The setting was a cliff and there was a girl standing, watching the ocean. The waters appeared to be set ablaze by the sun. She was in medieval dress, a bow in her hand, a quiever on her back, and a sheathed blade at her hip. It was an amazing sight, for a girl to have created this on her own brains power was stunning.

My thoughts ran in hundreds of different directions. How could I make this thinking girl think more?

I set the water on fire. The girl did not look frightened, merely surprised. Pictures of the past started appearing before her, by my will. Dinosaurs and cave mean appeared in the flames.

"Why do you look on the flames?" I spoke softly. My voice carried on the wind and I saw her shrug.

"It's terrifying and beautiful at the same time." She said, cocking her head.

Images of the medieval fights, swords rescuing maidens and fighting wars passed through the fire.

"Though it's beauty is great, the past is set in the fire. It is no more. Learn from the past, dear heart. Learn, turn your face away, and follow dreams."

She turned around, confused. Her mouth was soon agape. What she saw was a forest, dark and loomed but it was ravishing. Beyond that were every natural feat you could imagine.

There was a single dirt path, broken in several places, before her. It went into the wood, where I knew it would diverge. These would diverge even more.

She took her first step, and I woke her up.

The dream world disapeared and I was staring into a mirror. I strode into my room, confident I would be able to rest, and did.

*Lilly*

The next morning I woke up in a somewhat chipper mood. I got up, got dressed, and decided to go down and walk the grounds. It's what I tried to do every morning.

Tonight was the ball. I couldn't really say that was was ecstatic to go, but I was kind of excited. I was probably the only one of our people now who didn't have an escort. Great.

The sunrise was beautiful here in Somnium Mundus. The sky was aglow with shades of pinks, purples, and blues. The birds sang and everything was coming alive again. It was times like these that I wondered if I should go back to what I was, who I was. I walked around the castle once and then went back to my room.

As I sipped on a Cherry Coke, I thought about how I had changed, what had caused it. I used to be one of the best dream creators in Somnium Mundus. I was happy, carefree, and then he came along. He was the one who caused this change in me. He was the one who took my heart, and then ripped it up into tiny little pieces.

I put the subject out of my mind. That was over and done with. Not even Vincent knew about that, but then again, he didn't know much about me. When he said that he wanted to talk to me, I got nervous. He didn't usually request that kind of thing, but he hadn't called me yet, so I wouldn't worry about it now.

I just wish that I had someone to go with.

******
Hint, hint :) . Oh, here's the sunrise she sees every morning. I tried to skip so we could get to the next day. I hope it didn't interfere with anything.

I had gone into a dream, it was unlike any other I'd ever seen before. The girl who was dreaming saw herself with a baby bump, screaming at her friends. She was hurt bad, I could tell that she had mental issues. Yet, she reminded me of Larinda in some ways. This girl's imagination was absolutely incredible, I was surprised a human could create such a realistic dream. They were surrounded by houses that looked a like, green grass, and a park next to them. The girl was disappointed and saddened.

Her friends were smoking cigarettes and weed and she had about had enough. She was in pain, tears filled her brown eyes as she looked at them painstakingly.

"Why didn't you tell me, Lilah?" One of her friends asked, I assumed that it was Lilah's best friend. Lilah looked up and scowled, she held her bump and coughed before retorting back at her.

"Why the hell would I tell you Tiara? Why would I push my issues in your face when obviously yours are worse than mine. Doing these things won't make you happy. Do you see me doing them? Oh my god, you are so oblivious to what your doing!" Lilah screamed, her tears coming down faster. Tiara seemed unfazed, looking as if this didn't affect her.

I was going to make this a good dream no matter how strong this girl's imagination was.

"Hey Honey, are you alright." I asked, posing as a boy she liked. I walked up behind her and swooped her off her feet, the friends disappeared and it was only Lilah and me.

"I'm fine babe, just dealing with my friends. You know?" She said, with a smile. Lilah hugged my waist.

"Do you want to go for a walk?" I asked, getting ready for her to produce the guy herself. She was in the making of it and I left the dream as soon as I saw the other figure appear.

I pushed away my covers and rubbed the sleep from my eyes, sitting up so i wouldn't fall back asleep.

The sunset was breath taking, I threw on some clothes and did my hair. Today is the day.

I woke a few hours before dusk, my mind reeling. Jared. Oh yes, the ball.

In moments, the wardrobe door was open and the gown was in my hands. The fabric was silky and light; ideal for dancing the evening away. I dawned the gown with a special care. When I moved, it did so, though it made me appear to have much more gracefulness than I actually possessed. I surveyed myself in the mirror, acting like a adolescent girl as I twirled around.

I then did up my hair, until I was more than content with appearance. Glitter appeared in my hair at my whim and I smiled again. Perfect.

The ball, I thought glumly. I was going to have to cancel on Joshua. Two had seen my stop two different nightmares. I shook my head. No, I thought. I wouldn't cancel on him no matter what. Screw Vincent and his little puppets. I may not be as strong as Vincent himself, but I was definitely stronger than Leslie and Lily thought.

I stretched as I got up off of my couch. I had changed too many nightmares last night and I knew it. I just didn't know when to stop. I knew one day that it would cause trouble, but it was worth it. I'm a dream creator for God's sake. I turned towards the mirror. I decided to start with my hair.

I brushed through it and decided to let it hang free. No use in getting head-aches from pinning it all up. Instead I curled it slightly and pushed a shiny, crystal flower into the side of my hair, keeping that part out of my eyes. I was tempted to add a little glitter, but my hair was shiny enough as it was. I guess that was the good thing about having silver hair.

I still had a little while until I met up with Joshua, but I wanted to go ahead and finish getting ready. I slipped the dress around my body and zipped it up. I never have like jewelry, but today I put on the crystal flower necklace that matched my hair piece. I realized how girly I looked and sighed. This was so stupid. How had I talked myself into doing this?

*Gar, you guys are such wonderful writers. I'll try to make a nice pretty post...it just takes me a long time.*

Leslie~

*The day before*

The sun started to dye the clouds orange and purple, hovering above Somnium in an almost melancholy fashion. Its was nearly eveningtime and I felt a yawn warm my throat.

"Tired, are we?" Ray asked, smiling. His hand still was grasped around mine and I yanked it away as if he had a contagious disease.

I shrugged his comment off and briskly walked into the store. It was small and had the "Ma and Pa" type feel to it. Dresses, suits, and tuxedo's infested the small area on silver racks. White wooden signs were suspended from the ceiling labeling each clothing section was below it. I made my way to the women's section, the largest section, on the far right of the store. I heard Ray's footsteps behind me, probably looking around as well.

"Why, Ray, I didn't know you were a woman." I said, rolling my eyes, browsing the racks.

Ray just laughed and I secretly wished to yell at him to stop. Maybe I'm just getting cranky. I couldn't because there was bound to be someone else in the room as well. At the moment, it seemed like Ray and I were the only people present but surely the owner was here?

I sighed and started to look through the dresses. Every now and then, Ray would point out one that he thought was pretty but I would say it was absolutly ugly regardless of its validity. After only a few minutes, I started to get angry.

"Erg, why do I need a dress anyway? I can just make one out of thin air." I nearly screamed.

I grumbled and eyed the single dressing room in the whole shop. There was bound to be a mirror there. I walked into the dressing room and looked at myself.

Make me a dress that makes me beautiful. I whispered to myself like a chant. I've never thought myself as "pretty". Maybe a dress will make all the difference for Vincent to realize his love for me.

Within seconds, I was wearing a dress the color of gold with sparkles. It was dashing. I twirled around and around, smiling at my appearance. But then the smile dripped off my face like rain washing the ground. Ray stood in the doorway, smiling sheepishly. His mouth opened like he was going to say something but I disappeared before anything could come out.

*I'll post the night of ball soon.*

Ray

He sighed, sitting down in a chair just outside the dressing room. He'd actually been fool enough to think, just for a second, that she'd actually wanted to go to the ball with him, and was just scared to show it. Things made a lot more sense now. She'd been smiling at her reflection, the first time he'd seen a genuine smile on her face in a long while.

But when she'd seen him, she'd left without saying a word. She was going to the ball with him...but she was goig to the ball for Vincent.

He stared at his hands for a long while, a tightness in his throat. He'd always been so good at crafting dreams and dashing nightmares. Since the first humans had dreamed, he had made sure they were happy dreams. What had he ever done to fall for a girl like Leslie. A girl who was so unlike him, who couldn't even manage to be polite to him. Ray didn't even understand it. He despised what she did to humans, and had torn her nightmares apart many times before. And yet there was something about her that drew him in.

He laughed at himself, shaking his head, "I am such an idiot. Why even bother going to the ball tomorrow night? It's not like she'll even notice me there."

Ray closed his eyes for a long moment, and when he opened them, he was in someone's nightmare. The bench he was sitting on was coated in chipped green paint, contrasting with the reds and browns of an autumn canopy around him. In the distance, a boy was speaking with a girl. Beside him on the bench, another girl was sitting in exactly the same position he had been a moment before, looking longingly at the boy. Without even having to read her mind, he knew she was in the same predicament as he. But unlike most, he didn't bother changing himself into the boy of her dreams and sweeping her off her feet.

She'd just cry herself to sleep the next night anyway.

"Who are you?" She said, voice cracking a little, keeping her eyes fixed between her feet.

"No one important." He replied, sighing, "At least...not to anyone who's important to me."

She sniffled, "Join the club."

What could he possibly tell her? He'll come around? Leslie had come around, and he'd been trying for more than one human lifetime. It would be a lie to say that, and he knew it. They sat in silence for a long time, before Ray finally spoke, "I don't know how much he means to you...but you shouldn't get this hung up over him. You deserve to be happy as well. Hell, he's probably more likely to notice the happy, confident girl that you used to be." He looked straight across at her, "Wasting away while you long for him will never make you happy. Keep that in mind. Everyone deserves to be happy."

She smiled a little. It wasn't perfect advice by any stretch, but it was certainly something. Not a perfect dream, but far from a nightmare. He'd given her someone to share the burden with a little. She glanced across at him, "Why don't you take your own advice? She might notice you if you're happier."

He sighed, "I've been trying that for longer than I'd care to remember. Unfortunately, I'm not really her type. Suffice to say I think she hates me."

The human girl shrugged, "Thsn she doesn't deserve you."

That's meant to be what I say. he smiled sadly, "Doesn't seem to stop it hurting though."

The girl gave him a big smile, patting his shoulder, "Don't give up. She'll come around."

Why don't I believe that? Ray smiled back at her, "Yeah. I guess she will." He stood up, starting to walk to the edge of her dream, the seemingly impenetrable treeline of the park, "Guess I might see you around."

"Hey." She said, and he turned back, waiting for her to continue. "Thanks." She said.

"You're welcome." Thankyou, human girl.

He stepped through the trees, and opened his eyes in the dress shop. Whose dream was that, anyway? Mine, or hers?

Don't give up...She'll come around. He sighed, knowing it wasn't the kind of advice that he should follow. But it was the only damn advice he had.

*This storybook makes me glad I'm single and I don't like any guys. :P*

Leslie~

I plopped on my bed, with Moses by my side. I pulled him closer to me and hugged him hard. A tear started to dribble down my cheek and onto Moses's ear. I patted his fur and tried to smile. I was happy just a few minutes ago! Why not, now?

I sighed, closed my eyes, and entered a dream. A small girl about nine years old with brown hair in two small pigtails lay on her bed, fiddling with her Barbie doll. I watched as her small fingers traced this tiny waist of the plastic doll, and a frown come across her face. I was about to just walk over to the bed but I thought about something better. I magically made myself under the bed and turned Moses into pig, covering his mouth so the girl couldn't hear.

Then, I quickly jumped out from under the bed, turning my eyes red, and watched with delight as she screamed. It was music to my ears. That's it, child. Be frightened. Her face was contorted into a whirl of confusion and fear when she looked at the pig in my arms.

Her voice only small cries, "Who are you?"

"Your worst nightmare." Cliche or not, it was my trademark.

The girl's eyes were as big as saucers.

"Do you know what this is, dearie?" I said, pointing to Moses, now pig.

"A pig." The girl said, in a hush whisper.

"Wrong. Its you. You are an ugly filthy pig who will never ever look like Barbie." I said, sneering, letting my maniac smile spread like a wild fire. It felt good to make someone else feel what I was feeling.

"I won't?" The girl asked, tears now covering her face. She reached down for her Barbie but I snatched it away from her.

"Nope. And why are you playing with Barbies anyway? Aren't you a little too old for that?" I asked, twiddling the Barbie around in my finger, watching her eyes look at me in horror.

"Its the only thing my family can afford." The girl whispered. But I heard it. I heard it loud and clear. I can always hear pain.

I flung the doll in the girl's face on purpose and walked out of the room. Moses trailed behind, squealing.

"Oh shut up, Moses." I said, and I was back on my own bed. Moses lay right beside me, and I drifted off to sleep.
