Ossal
Sometimes these days, even Lhuna managed to get on his nerves. Second-guessing his senses...He snorted. It was a foolish thing to do. One day, instead of acting immediately on a warning, he had a feeling she was going to send a wolf or two to check it out. And then they'd end up dead. He just hoped she'd learn to place a little more faith in him before then.
Light footfalls behind him told him that Zodiak was approaching. And with that duck, too. He should know by now that I prefer not to have feathers as part of my food. There was a thud as Zodiak dropped the body behind him, clearing his throat.
"I'm not hungry." Ossal growled, "Let me eat in my own damned time. You brought that thing for Lhuna, Zodiak. Then give it to her."
"But Ossal," Zodiak said, backing up a little, "Lhuna says she doesn't think you're eating enough."
"Does she now?" Ossal mused, a wry smile on his face. Well, at least she was delegating the more tiresome responsibilities, like looking out for the elderly of the pack, to those that needed to be reminded not to fight within the pack. It was just as often Zodiak as it was Tier who she sent to deal with Ossal when he was in a bad mood. Personally, he would have preferred to talk to someone with sense. "Well then, you can tell her that she can come and talk to me about it herself."
Tier
The young hunter's mood was not much better than that of his uncle. There were times when he truly hated Zodiak. That stuck up fool wasn't even born into the pack, and yet he felt he had a right to try to push Tier around just because he was friends with the current alpha.
He glanced at Ossal. If it wasn't for the fact that he was related to the shaman, he knew Lhuna probably would've given Zodiak leadership of the hunters, as well. Well, he wasn't going to give up any time soon. He'd make sure that leadership stayed where it belonged, and didn't go to a wolf barely out of pup-hood.
