I looked up from the now departing men to see a feiry haired woman stood on the landing. Why had she interfered? We were obviously going to win and they would be back eventually anyway. I felt my brow furrow with frustration. The woman said something and i turned to see Joshua on his crutches wobbling to a stand still. I turned back to the woman.
"I," i bowed with a graceful flourish of my sword cane "am Mikael Eisenstein and these charming would be saviours of yours are the Unforgiven." I heard some grunts of acknowledgement as the men cleaned their equipment.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Isabelle

Isabelle bustled through the corridors, her arms full of medical supplies. Isabelle had gotten a look at Joshua as Tash pushed his way into the room. He was pale and shaky. The bandages on his leg looked as if they were doing little to staunch Joshua's blood. Isabelle had immediately ran off toward the sick room to get any supplies that might help him.

And now Isabelle was moving as quickly as she could to get back to the room she had last seen Joshua. She had just rounded the corner when she saw Joshua's form turning another corner at the other end of the corridor.

"Joshua!" she called anxiously. Joshua didn't seem to have heard here.

Isabelle began follow him. But because of the medical supplies in her hands, Isabelle could not manage to move very quickly without dropping things.

Isabelle was furious at the rest of the group for apparently abandoning Joshua. She would have thought better of them. Why would they let Joshua leave that room in the condition he was in?

Joshua, and therefore Isabelle, was winding his way down toward the foyer. Isabelle tried again to call him, but he had taken up screaming unintelligible things into the air. Isabelle grew even more worried for him. Why was he going out of his way to draw attention to himself? Joshua must know that there were invaders in the Chateau! How could he not?

Isabelle finally saw Joshua come to a halt at the top of the foyer stairs. She quickened her pace. She heard a strange voice the came from the bottom of the stairs. Isabelle was not so much unnerved that the voice was strange to her, but the fact that the voice was feminine bewildered her. What kind of raid was this, that they sent a woman along?

"What have we got here? It it appears that my beloved brother has returned to me."

A high laugh floated up the stairs, sending unexpected chills down Isabelle's spine. Isabelle didn't understand, though. If the woman was indeed Joshua's sister, why was she with the raid trying to kill Joshua and everyone else in the Chateau?

Isabelle walked towards Joshua more cautiously now. She spotted the woman speaker instantly. The woman wore an elegant, trailing gold gown. The woman was looking at Isabelle now. Compared to the woman’s graceful and elegant appearance, Isabelle knew she looked horribly bedraggled. Isabelle refused to let that fact bother her. Isabelle had been up all night, after all. She had a right to be disheveled.

“Isabelle…” said Joshua. Isabelle started, alarmed. Joshua’s voice seemed very thin compared with earlier that night. Isabelle met his gaze. He looked horrified.

Constance

She watched Joshua merrily. He had the exact same reaction she had hoped for. Shaking and clutching the rail for support as if he was ready to fall at any moment, and she could not help feel happy. With a quick turn of her head she looked over at the other group of people, the humans seemingly settling themselves down to clean their weapons, absent-minded beings. The mutant was looking at her, obviously trying to seem authoritive.

"I," He preformed an elegant bow, The steel edge of his sword, part cane, glinted in the faint light from the rising sun. "am Mikael Eisenstein and these charming would be saviours of yours are the Unforgiven."

"I do not believe they are my saviours, more over close to my death." Her voice lifted kindly into through out the room. "This castle could have been burnt to cinders by now. I more over was your saviour, for you were fighting a futile battle, one under which would have verified their suspicions. Now we do not have to be so worried about attack."

"You, a saviour! Hah! That makes me laugh. They were as good as dead as soon as they stepped through this door." He spoke, eyeing her lightly.

"Ah, but they would have just sent more. This way, even though we are under their scope we do not have to worry about intrusions." Constance stepped over towards the the man again, studying his features carefully, eyeing him for any emotions, for truly, this mutant seemed different then the last she had met. This one seemed to have the desire to live.

Joshua

"Isabelle…" She met his gaze automatically tensing lightly. He was not masked, she could see every single bit of emotion he displayed there, a perfect window to his soul. "I need you here. I-I-I don't know what to do any longer." Joshua felt himself ready to collaspe once more. His sister. That couldn't be his sister. He could not even verify her existence for he could not escape down the stairs. She surely would not come to him.

Isabelle walked towards him carefully, abiding the array of emotions he displayed. In her arms she carried an abundance of bandages, probably following him to change his dressings. Every once he would watch her eyes dart to his bandaged leg, where sure enough the blood was seeping through.

"Where is everyone else? What is going on?" She asked quickly reaching him and grasping his shoulder. Her hand seemed to keep him locked there in reality.

"I don't know anymore. I thought they were dead." Joshua spoke the words obviously unsure if they were true or not. "There was intruders in the castle. I came to find them, she was here in their stead." He gestured over towards the red haired woman standing down there, the one obviously marvelously dressed.

"And she is your sister?"

"I don't know anymore." His head swam. He had lost too much blood and he could barely stand on his feet any longer. He wished to just close his eyes and forget the naseus feelings, to forget the blistering feeling that was crawling up his leg. Then the sudden realization came. It might have been a lead bullet. Joshua nearly feel over at the thought. He was so confused these days, there was always a hidden answer, always a hidden detail, that would always find a way to hit him when he was down.

Joshua collasped anyways, smacking his head against the railing. He gripped the velvet carpet that felt worn between his fingers. There was never a sure answer anymore, and he believed there never would be.

Isabelle

"Joshua!"

Isabelle kneeled down quickly, laying a hand on Joshua's forehead. The fall had been so sudden! Isabelle sighed in relief when she saw Joshua's eyes flicker open. Isabelle didn't know what she would have done if Joshua had been knocked unconscious.

"Are you all right?" asked Isabelle quickly. Joshua began to mumble a response, and Isabelle came to her senses. "Don't answer..."

Isabelle glanced at Joshua's leg. "I've got to change your bandage. It's soaked, and you are loosing too much blood..."

Joshua nodded. Isabelle hesitated for a moment. She had never done anything like this before, and any mistake could prove fatal for Joshua...

But it couldn't be delayed, and soon Isabelle was gingerly peeling off the layers of bandages. She tried to remember what the doctor had done to wrap it while she worked, but Isabelle's mind kept straying to Joshua's sister. Isabelle was so confused by it all. If the woman truly was Joshua's sister, why was she not next to Isabelle, helping her? Did the woman not care about Joshua?

Isabelle tried the ends of the bandage together tightly, trying to ignore Joshua's wince of pain.

"Is that any better?" asked Isabelle nervously, turning to Joshua.

"They could send as many men as they wanted. For one such as yourself i would fight them for eternity and my men would give their lives to gain forgivness for their sins." She took another step toward me and i could almost feel her studying me with her gaze.
"How sweet of you however your life will not be necessary." She laughed, a beautiful high pitched sound.
"Unforgiven, leave us. Alex, set up a watch and put men on the gates and doors. If any men come you are to tell me immediately."
"Yes, Sir" replied Alex gathering the men and marching out in perfect unison.
"Madam, better protection you will not find on this continent. Those men are soldiers fighting for their very souls. For them death with honour is there only cchance to reach heaven."

"Madam, better protection you will not find on this continent. Those men are soldiers fighting for their very souls. For them death with honour is there only cchance to reach heaven."

"But alas', is it truly death by honour slaughtering the people around you? We are remembered by the tracks we leave behind, not by how many people we have slayed or how much blood we have spilt. Would that be how you wish to be remembered? As a person who died out foolishly fighting battles where the chances were bare to none?" She smiled weakly and turned away from him. "I do not need your men's protection. I am well enough to protect myself, using other means of course."

Constance turned and looked up the stairs and saw Joshua collasped on the ground, a beautiful yet deshelved women doing something to his leg. She would most likely be a mutant to. Disgusting creatures.

"I have a few questions to ask of course." Constance turned her head to look over her shoulder at him, emphasizing her bare shoulders that were revealed from her dress. "Who is incharge of this establishment?"

"Their names are Hiram and Hester. Hiram has been rumoured to be one of the first changed." He replied watching her closely, suspiciously.

"Aye, I see. How many people live in this place? Of course I have seen my brother, that girl there. There is you and your men certainly. Do Hiram and Hester live her personally?"

"I do not know."

"Well then, your not much help are you." Constance said with a light laugh. "I believe I must go and check on my brother. I believe he is having some troubles up there." And with that, she ambled up the steps, eyes never moving off of the black haired girl.

Joshua

"Is that any better?" asked Isabelle nervously, turning to Joshua.

"I believe so." Joshua said weakly, closing his eyes and laying his head back against the red plush carpet. He fingered what seemed like the frayed edge of it. The pain was blistering, spreading all through his body, yet the tight pressure on his knee seemed to be soothing it slowly. "I will not heal as others do." Joshua spoke grimly. "My skin is not capable of knitting itself back together. I shall bleed until that wound is closed properly."

"You condemned yourself to that fate yourself brother." That woman's haunting voice echoed from behind him. He opened his eyes, and turned his head the the side. He could see the hem of her golden dress, along with the bright toes of her shoes. "There is no one else to blame." She lowered herself to her knees carefully, cringing her nose when she realized that that her dress was going to get ruining.

"I am not your brother." Joshua said through clenched teeth. He gazed at her face now, and her red hair falling beautifully down her shoulders. Recognition was flooding through her. It wasn't that he was sure she wasn't her, but he just couldn't believe it.

"You left me there to die brother. I closed my eyes and you never returned. I was pulled out by the officials guards and I watched them set afire to the house. I was sick as a dog then, coughing up blood. You didn't even come back to me." Constance voice was could and monotonous. Convincing surely.

"I thought you were dead. You stopped breathing, I was sure of it. I stormed out of that cursed house of ours and I ran to William, I cried because I thought you were dead. I could not actually have known." Joshua's words came out ragged.

"But you decided to leave the dead there to rot? For the officials to find and call it a plague house? I do not believe you were smart about that my dear brother. With the house went our property, and with the property, everything was left behind." Her words came out sharp. "I had nothing to my name, and surely you don't either, Mr. Joshua Dowde."

**This CAN'T die!

Isabelle

Isabelle carefully straightened to look at the woman. "It certainly looks like you got along all right," she snapped, eyeing the woman's dress. "For having no property, that is."

The woman glared at her. "Do not meddle with matters that do not concern you, girl."

Isabelle raised her eyebrow haughtily. "I have a name. It is Isabelle."

"Congratulations. You have a name," said the woman softly. "But you still are not concerned in this matter."

"As of this moment, if something concerns Joshua, it concerns me. You might notice that he is hurt. I intend to keep him alive, so I'll not have anything upset him unduly."

**I'm really sorry it is so short - I'm just trying to stimulate the storybook again.

**Nice to see you have arrived JC. ;)
I will bring you in. I think we should break up this pity party. And about time we bring Hiram and Hester back. xD

Joshua

"I am not dying. I am but merely wounded." He spoke lightly. "It is but merely a leg wound, nothing that will kill me." He would not die of this simple matter, but the pain was indeed excrutiating. It would be a long time until he actually was able to move without feeling that increading pain.

"How did you get this wound?" Constance looked down at his leg with a crinkled nose. "You always had a tendency to get into trouble."

"I was defending merely what I believed in." Joshua said under his breath. Already his apparent 'sister' was getting on his nerves. She continued to look back down on him unnerved. Her eyebrow was perked up lightly and an odd smile was curling across her face.

"Truly you are my brother." The words came out a little bit of a shock to Joshua. "You would always do what you thought was right and what you wished to be right." The silence settled then as she looked down on her hands, her beautiful complexion beautiful in the gentle morning light that was increasing over the horizon.

But then again, there was another knock on the door and Joshua tried to leap to his feet but feel over once more in pain. Isabelle lurched forward to his side and helped him straighten up. Constance just looked at the door unimpressed. To both Isbelle's and Joshua's surprise Hiram and Hester both appeared from the doorway and ambled over towards them. Hiram looked down on Joshua with a mild expression on her face and Hester looked slightly flushed.

"I believe she is here." Hester spoke almost hurriedly. "I thought she was coming tomorrow."

"Ah, but it appears she is here today." Hiram said smiling lightly, his eyes unseen behind his mask. In his hand he held Joshua's mask too, which he handed to him respectfully. Joshua, baffled, pulled the mask on.

"There was intruders who just tried to get in recently," Isabelle started but she was cut off by Hester.

"Well obviously they have left. She is here, and you too look like you were mucking around all night." Her attention was brought to Constance for the first time. "Why couldn't you look like that respectful young lady. Everyone to your feet. We must greet her pleasantly. Afterall, this is to be her new home."

Isabelle followed her orders and helped Joshua to his feet who cringed when he put weight on his leg. Constance rose and straightened her skirts carefully. She then folded her hands carefully infront of her and stood straight, chin raised high and looked at the door. Hiram was stepping down the staircase already. He looked at the gang in mild curiousity but ignored them.

"You may come in!" He called, and sure enough the large thick oak doors shifted and a bright fiery haired girl stepped into the room. She was wearing a bright red dress and was looking around her in bewilderment. She caught sight of Hiram and launched herself at him, catching him in a hug.

"I missed you." She spoke. Her voice was certainly something. It was at this moment that Joshua actually realized that her hair was cropped short. The red mask on her face was covering her eyes leaving him confused if she actually was truly one of them.

"Who is she?" Joshua could not help but ask. Hester gave him a disapproving glance.

"She is Georgina Myrtle, and she is the newest member to our coven." Hester said loudly for the introduction. Georgina stepped back and curtsied at them, smiling sweetly.

*Storybooks have a way of making me feel blonde....I have to look back at your PM Incog*

Georgie~

After releasing Hiram from my grasp, I turned at the person who had asked who I was. I lowered my eyes and smirked.

"I heard that! I'm Georgina Myrtle like our darling, Hester exclaimed. Dish washer expert, master thief, and guitar extraordinaire. At your service, sire." I said, giving the man a mocking curtsy, where my head was only inches from the floor.

He raised his eyebrows at me and I raised mine too and laughed. Then, stopped. They all just looked at me with confused glances, all still wondering who I really was. I guess my introduction didn't do its proper job.

I sighed and took my mask off, its red feathers tickling my cheek.

*Sorry, its so short. I'm not sure what to say...*

The fiery haired woman had swept past me and revealed her true colours as Joshua's sister. How ever i had to admire her reaction to Isabelle. Hester and Hiram swept in followed by a crop headed young lady who had given the most rediculous introduction i had ever seen.
"Men to your post" i spoke simply watching my men disappear throughout the house and it's grounds.
"Hester. Hiriam. I am so sorry about the unfortunate conditions of our last meeting. How ever it was necessary for my eventual acension to your kind. Oh and Joshua i am so sorry about your leg. I will have my best physician look at it and see what he can do. Now will someone please introduce me to these two lovely women" i said indicating Joshua's sister (who i found most interesting) and the latest entrant.

Georgie~

"Oh dear me! I haven't made an introduction before, have I?" I said mockingly and smiling at both men. My smile disappeared once again because it felt like I still didn't belong at the Chateau. Something was obviously happening at the moment and I had certainly ruined it. Friendships, alliances, and maybe even romance have already been made since the first ball. Even though, Hiram had mutated me, I was still an outsider. I sighed and regretted making my silly introduction. Save it for the clubs, Georgie. Besides, the man was obviously more interested in the woman standing next to me so I decided to stand there awkwardly, waiting for someone to strike conversation with me, once again. Like a proper lady.

**:O
I thought Constance was up the stairs along with Hester, Isabelle, and Constance. Then I thought Hiram was down there with Georgina... Oh well. ;)

Joshua/Constance ~Too lazy to write one for each of them.xD

Hiram smiled at Georgina lightly as if she was his own daughter then looked over at Constance, eyeing her gently. He obviously did not know who she was and certainly seemed interested in the matter. Hiram was a different kind of person, valuing happiness and likeing everything calm and orderly. He had an authoritive feel to him, but for some odd reason, you could instantly tell that he wouldn't even hurt a fly. Hester on the other hand looked stern but the smile on her face was evident there. Constance found it interesting at the fact that Isabelle seemed afraid of her.

"I am Constance Dowde, Joshua's forgotten sister." She smiled weakly at all of them, curtsieing elegantly, nodding her head ever so slightly. These two were most likely the ones in charge of this manor, and she did not wish to be kicked out just yet.

"Well it is nice to meet you Constance. You are Joshua's sister eh? You better not be like him, he always gets in trouble." Hiram said with a another glorified smile. His face was still hidden by his mask, his black eyes could not be seen. "Feel free to stay as long as you like."

"Thank you good sir."

Hester looked at Georgina one more time then she seemed to figure out what she needed to do. "Joshua, I would like you to lead Georgina to her quarters."

"And where might they be?" His mocking tone got a glare from Hester.

"In the fifth wing, put her beside Mercy's quarters. Mercy will be able to help her if she needs anything." Hester said with a small nod. Isabelle took a quick gaze over at Joshua who was still leaning on her shoulder, his knee crooked so that it would not straighten.

"I do not believe Joshua is fit for guiding her to her quarters at this moment in time." Isabelle looked at Hester, who again gazed down on the black haired girl, eyes almost certainly exaimining her disheveled appearance.

"Well then, I would like you to help Joshua to his own quarters, and then guide Constance, Mikael, and Georgina to their quarters. I assume all of you are staying?"

"I believe I shall have to take you up on that offer." Constance replied. She looked over at the ther two awaiting a response.

Isabelle

"I believe I shall have to take you up on that offer."

Isabelle gave a taut smile. "In that case, Hester, nothing would give me greater pleasure than to escort them to their quarters."

Hearing the tone in Isabelle's voice, Hester flashed her a sharp look. Isabelle ignored her. She was watching Constance carefully. Something about how long it took the woman to come up to her ailing brother made Isabelle deeply distrust her.

Isabelle waited while the others gave their consent to stay at the Chateau. All the while, Isabelle was aware of Joshua's weight on her shoulder.

"This way, then, if you please..." said Isabelle courteously. Georgina smiled pleasantly at Isabelle. Isabelle gave a small smile in return. With no further words, the group moved back again through the Chateau.

Joshua's hand squeezed her shoulder for added support as they began to climb the stairs. Isabelle placed her hand on his, trying to help him as much as possible.

The group reached the fifth wing landing. Isabelle glanced up the stairs that led to the attic and Joshua's room.

"Can you make it up any more stairs?" Isabelle asked Joshua nervously. "Or do you think it would be more prudent to simply take up residence in one of the regular rooms?"

I wonder if people felt the freedom in our culture to love louder, if they'd be quicker to say "I miss you" when the absence of someone is felt instead of just thinking it.
