{The HISTORY.}
A masquerade. A night so magical that anyone will show up, even the king. But the fright and horror of one single night sent the world into turmoil. He had no face. Such a simple concept, wasn’t it? But really, he had no face.
I remember staring into those black and lifeless pools that were supposed to be his eyes. But I still felt a connection to him. He was begging me to save him. He’d been revealed. But he was still human ... right?
Wrong. We are not human. We were created as weapons to be used for mass murder during the French revolution. The king created them, only to set them aside. And when they were released, they had no where to go. Their successor was dead. Where were they to go? Without a home, they headed to an abandoned concert hall, and created Le Château du Seul.
And together these ‘lost souls’ banded together to fight society— peacefully, that is— and become part of the world again. To become human. But though their faces would never be restored, a miniature revolution raged on behind society’s eyes, ears, and knowledge. No one ever learned about these strange creatures who struck fear into the heart of even the toughest man. ‘Vampires’ they called them. But truly they were peaceful beings just like them.
In records that the government kept, they called this the ‘Forgotten Revolution’ therefore making sure that they eliminated ‘such menace’ before they harmed anyone. They saw them as demons, but truly, they weren’t!
‘The Masquerade’— as they soon called themselves— lived inside Le Château du Seul, and soon began inviting society to come and join their parties. Here, at masquerades, they could be like everyone else, without revealing their faces.
But the government soon found out, and by the year 1805, almost all the ‘strange beings’ had been eliminated, killed without hesitation, and left lying in a heap, in their own puddle of crimson blood, on the floor somewhere inside of the immaculate castle. But one survived. His name? Hiram Bartlett.
I met him one evening at the ball, and soon found myself besotted by his charm. A man whom I did not love, but who loved me, revealed the identity of Hiram. But I was still in love with the heart that beat in his chest. He was still human.
{The PLOT.}
You are one of the ten new members of the ‘Masquerade’. You find yourself mingling with the guests, and wishing for the chance to live normally. You all grew up differently. Some were farmers, other paper boys, some seamstresses. A few, even, were pure-blood elites, who found themselves defying their parents’ wishes and attending the ball.
But the only true reason that you are there with Hiram and his love, (whom narrated the story above) Hester Jeanes, is because you want to prove to society that you are normal. You want to bring down the government. Along the way, though, you may fall in love, venture down the wrong path, and experience your share of hardships. You’re a young adult in London, England, just trying to get your life back.

{Character FORM.}
Stuck for a name? Here are some good male and female names, and here are some good surnames.
[A/N: You cannot play as Hester or Hiram. They are just kind characters there to guide the ten people. And, yes they can see, talk, and breath, despite the fact that they have, no nostrils and their eyes are blacked-out. Why? They’re mutants, clearly. Their sight is as if they're staring from beneath the surface of the water, colours blurred, and not quite as vivid as they really are.]

[NOTE: I have made a discussion thread, and ask that you only post your profile in the storybook. Small comments like 'Can I make two characters?' or 'When do we start?' belong in the Dicussion thread. That's why its there. The storybook should remain that way throughout. Don't let this flop, people!]
