Itachi~~

When we reached the training grounds Ayame wasn't there.

"Well this is a first" I said sarcastically.

We waited for about twenty minutes before Sesei finally showed up.

"Well I'm glad to see you all made it on time," He said, as if he had been the first person there, and we had been late.

Cole mumbled something about 'hypocrits.'

For the next two hours he told us what to expect in the Chuunin exams. There was a ten question written test. Then there was the tower challenge. There were three types of scrolls and each squad was given one of them. The objective was to find the two pieces you did not have. once you had all three you had to get to take them to the tower in the center of the forest, and then get back out. The third section of the exams was arena style combat. One on one battles. Performance in all three sections of the exams is used to determine whether you pass or not.

After the lecture Sensei dismissed us. He had barely finished the word before he was gone.

Cole~~

After a bit of explanation I went home. Quickly grabbing a few books I headed to the library. After paying the fee for over due books I went in and got some chunnin exam books. But most had nothing in them, other then a few ninja tips and facts about the general junk, but nothing helpful. So instead I went took out some trap setting guides and went to the ninja stores to pick up some more gear.

Then I went back home, into my back yard and started to practice. I needed to get this move down to the number or I would be dead. My field was very strong when I was in it, but when I wasn't in it, it was tough to pull off. I had to make the field move with the person, or it would break before I could tighten it. So for practice i was doing what my father did, catch flies. This training made me have to use intense concentration and focus or it would break. So I set on to find a few and started to catch one. Eventually I found one, caught it and then stood still turning my head following it for so long. But after about what I think was an hour I collapsed. My body wasn't set for chakra use yet, my traps used a lot of it up so I didn't have much left to use.

Finally I felt my self wake up and came face to face with...

Kazuna ~Shade

Shinjiro. That means there truly was only two more people to join them in this dismay place.

"Practicing?" his coarse voice was beside her, yet she truly could not see him. Her eyes had no adjusted to the night because of her little showcase with the fire. Kazuna was one thing with the flame, but Shinjiro was the opposite, always catching her when she would decide to play with her familiar flame. He hated fire, despised it for not much reason other than it made the shadow for which he dwelled, disappear leaving light and day.

Many people in this village did not accept her fire, so her clan lived in seclusion, evading all who may just wander why. They did not wish to be cowered from like so many already do. It was easier just to live a little beyond the village walls, easier to sever themselves from the village except for the obvious needs.

"I do not believe I am." Kazuna said, her voice taunting.

"I do not think that is allowed. The fire is a very distruptive thing. Using it freely like that, it burns not just peoples eyes but can burn down villages." Limit her use of the fire, that was what he always did.

"It was only a small flame,"

"That doesn't belong in darkness."

Billy, tell me if i got your character right. I can change it. I was unsure of it, so that is why I said little with your character. Well, not quite. But anyways, that's all I got really.

Shinjiro - Shade

If she wanted to play with fire, he didn't really have the authority to stop her. But he still made it clear time and again that he didn't like her abilities. He stepped around her, unwinding the chain that kept his half spears bound to his back. Her taunts had been like a red flag to him.

"Well, Chuunin exams are in a week." He muttered, facing her, "So Koka-sensei has said practice is a good idea." Shinjiro blinked at her, "You definitely need it." Although his words would have sounded mocking if from anyone else, he made it sound like a simple fact.

Kazuna seemed to freeze up with anger, every part of her body tensing to attack. The two might have been team mates, but that didn't mean they had to cooperate when not on a mission.

"Go ahead." Shinjiro said, "It's not like you can catch me."

Kazuna

A blaze of fire went lurching towards Shinjiro ferociously, ready to burn him if he got to close. As the fire melte away the shadows, it became apparent. He was not standing there any longer. He was somewhere else, in the shadow, unseen and unshadowed.

She felt a light tap on her shoulder and she half-turned just to find Shinjiro standing there with a blade to her neck. It had pricked her skin and a little bud of blood starting to immerge settling itself on the cold hard edge of the blade. Hiding her hands from view, she completed an arrange of signs absent-mindedly. Soon enough she jumped back and sent a wall of flame seperating her from her dark team mate.

She landed on the ground with a soft thud, knees bent, hands touching the ground. The odds were rough. At this moment in time, as the night enveloped, she held no chance. In plain darkness he could lie, a few feet in front of her or 100 yards off. It couldn't be told. Her light could only shine in small glimpses and he would see it coming, steading himself to disappear into the darkness quick and unnoticed.

She felt the fire getting more and more tempered, feeding off her emotions. If she got to frustrated over this, the fire would become to strong and she would not be able to handle it.

"Come at me. Let me see what you have got." She called into the darkness knowing that from any direction a shuriken or any sharp object could be thrown at her.

Violet~~

After Ayame's long explanation, Violet filed out with the others. She went down the street and followed her regular path of destination. Sitting at the bar and picking up a menu a voice chimed in front of her.

"VI-LET!" the voice cried, "How are you?"

"Vilet" Looked up to see the plump man behind the bar. "Pretty good Shi-ro"

They smiled at eachother and Shiro placed a bowl in front of her, "On the house for the exams are coming up!"

Violet thanked him and slurped down the steaming noodles one at a time with precision.

"Oi." A voice said as Itachi sat down next to her, "Just water"

"Your so boring Itachi" Violet said whining, "And Shiro gave me free noodles!"

"Well that's good for him." Itachi said sarcastically

"Whatever." Violet stuck his tongue out at him and smiled.

Itachi and Violet had known eachother for a while actually, childhood friends you could say. Before Violet discovered her own skills she met him when she followed her mother, who was a maid, to work.

"Thanks Shiro!" Violet said pushing her bowl.

"LEt's go find cole for some more training shall we?" Itachi Smirked.

Cole~~

"No leave me alone," I said and pulled the covers up. Itachi and Violet were trying to wake me up but failing.

"Fine have it your way," Violet said and gave me a shock. Unaffected by it I stayed in bed.

"Violet remember I am in the lightning master clan, I can take any blow like that," I told them.

"Cole C'mon we have training," Itachi said and pulled the covers again.

"Fine I'll go. But can you leave, I need to change," I told them and they left.

When They left I quickly changed and grabbed my pack. I had packed everything I needed for the exams, then I slipped on my lucky charms, which were two rope bracelets, one white and blue the other red and yellow, and a necklace that held a dog tag, a blue petrified electric orb and the last a a shuriken that had saved my life. After that I got up and left with them, we were going to squeeze in some training them head out.

ITACHI~~

After Cole woke up Violet and I ran to the training grounds. I paced back and forth, knowing that there was something I had forgotten to do before we left. Right as cole showed up I remembered. My father.

- - - -

I landed softly back in the clearing where the rest of the team was gathered. I did a quick glance but did not see Akira.

Cole's eyebrows rose when he saw the sword on my back, "Where'd that come from?"

"It was my fathers. Every son recieves one before they leave for the exams." Of course there was more that I didn't say. My cut hair also indicated that I was the last son, cast out of my family, never to return. My blood inheritance was the justification. It was a curse planted on me by my brother, a traitor to my clan and to our country. He was a murderer that instilled upon me his demonic powers, and for that I was exiled.

I looked at the bandages covering the mark on my arm. I could feel the demon inside of mme waiting to get out even now. Even when there was no provocation it longed to get out, to kill. I resisted the urge and forced my eyes to look at the gate where Akira should be coming from. The whole time we sat their waiting I could feel the mark feeding off of my desolation and anger.

*Sorry if this is confusing. He went home and once there his father gave him his sword, and then outlawed him because of the mark. He had had it since he was seven, but now that he is a man, he can take care of himself, and he was sent out.*

Violet~

Violet skipped through the tall trees of the forest as fast as she could. She was late and she would never, ever hear the end of this. She munched her chocolate brownie and landed safely in the clearing.

"Where have you been?" Itachi said raising his eyebrows.

"Somewhere." Violet said slyly swallowing down her bit of brownie.

"Let's start." Cole said seriously.

Too many serious people in this world

She lifted up her sharp objects of fun, "Let's do it!"

Hey Cole ain't serious,

Cole~~
"Guys can we not go to hard. I'm tired, and-," Before I finished Itachti attacked with his new sword.

Jumping away I pulled my two blades out and struck him with one, then while he blocked I swung with the other, he let the other go, then last second both swords moved down and up in a jay, the one in my right hand jabbing. I stopped an inch from his stomach and then he rolled his eyes. I was about to put my stuff back when he attacked, this time he caught me and inch from my neck.

"Kay draw," I told him and collapsed, "But why do we have to train, we head out in an hour we need our strength."

Shinjiro

Her fire attacks had been fast, even faster than usual. But no one could move faster at night than a member of Shinjiro’s clan. Traitors were constantly afraid of discovery by Shinjiro’s father, the man who, in the dead of the night, was ‘everywhere at once’.

"Come at me. Let me see what you have got." She sneered at him, looking around herself as she stepped into a guard position.

Shinjiro leapt into a shadow, vanishing, only to appear several metres away, mid-step. In the brief moment that he was visible before vanishing again, he threw three shuriken at her, not even checking to see if they’d hit. He appeared again and repeated the process, then again another four times, all in the space of mere moments. When he stopped, much further away from her now, he could see the trails of light from where her fire had been.

Out of the eighteen shuriken he’d thrown, only four had got through, and she’d managed to dodge three of those, only being lightly cut by the final one.

His oversensitive eyes picked up her smirk, “Is that all you’ve got?”

He retrieved his spears, which he’d put aside before attacking, and readied himself to launch forward into a flurry of combat attacks. It would require more chakra, since the shadows around her were very weak, but they were about even in close combat, and he had the advantage of the night around them.

But then, to his surprise, Suika appeared out of the shadows nearby. So…two to fight now. No matter, I can manage that. Although Suika will be harder to find.

Itachi~~

Akira came and we left the mountains. We travelled quickly for hours until the sun started to set. We were still in the mountains and the forests still looked distant.

"Ok, everyone stop. Itachi, get food. Violet, find water. Cole set up a perimeter."

We all went our separate ways. I climbed back up the mountain, my sword draped over my shoulder. I searched for twenty minutes but I found nothing. I was about to give up and head back when I saw a rock shift. I stopped and dropped into a ready position. The rock shivered and then broke apart.

Flakes of rock fell away and it stood up . I realized that it was not a rock. It was a dinosaur. It had crusty brown skin that covered its body like a shell. Rows of glittering teeth lined the mouth of the creatures large head. It stood on two large legs. Its arms were very short.

I slid my hands along the hilt of my sword so that they were at opposite ends. I waited for a moment and then ran at it. It head swooped down to meet me but I sidestepped and brought my sword up, jumping so that I cut a long gash along its neck. As i sped past it I heard the roar and understood that it would draw attention if it lived much longer.

I hit the rock face and switched my sword to my left hand. I focused my spirit into my hand and pushed off. I felt the fire lawing up my arm, but it didn't burn. The thing's head turned right as i passed. My fist slammed into it, the black fire seeping from my hand tore away half of it's skull.

I hit the ground and turned, my sword already poised for another strike, but it fell, dead.

I flexed my fingers as I waited for Akira to come.

Cole got there first though, "What happened?"

I motioned towards the body, "I found some food."
