*Half-sisters. They don't have the same dad. And we will mourn Leona's death*

Lizzie - Athena

"But only one of us can lead this quest, Chiron," I spoke up.

"Yes. The leader has to go to the Oracle to determine if he or she should be leader."

Shannon's expression became a little more clearer after Chiron explained some more.

*I don't know. It's just things are going so fast I can hardly keep up. Maybe I'll just injure her. Really badly. See how things go from there and then decide if she recovers or not*

Leona/Demeter

I woke up with a start. The trees-- they were screaming. I could hear a low growl go through the forest. A sound that sent chills up my spine.

I dressed quickly and went outside. I didn't like this. It took a true monster to scilence the forest. As I stepped, everything was quiet.

Another growl reverberated through the forest. I spun, trying to pin-point the sound. I still couldn't hear anything from the trees.

A creature attacked me from behind, biting into my shoulder. It kicked me in the blink of an eye, causing me to crash through the underbrush, spreading blood everywhere. I tried to get back on my feet but soon I was attacked again. This time my leg. I felt myself get thrown in the air, and everything went black.

*Ok, excuse my lack of knowledge on ancient Greek stuff. The oracle is some guy who can see the future, right? So I guess the 10 of us together will travel to the Oracle's house or something? er....I'm confused. I'll post like that's whats happening. Though, I agree with boltageman. As soon as we go to the Oracles place, Chelsea will be named leader.*

Shannon - Athena

I hoped I was going to be named leader. I have all the leader skills, right? Though, Lizzie's words kept tugging at me. I'm technically new since this is my first year. So, I tried not to get my hopes up. A little.

"Now, all of you go. I'm sure you've had enough training to make your way to the Oracle. My wishes are with you since I will not be going. This is a journey you need to make yourselves." Chiron said.

The nine of us looked at each other and walked silently out of the office and into the destroyed camp.

"Ok, lets plan this out." I said, fixing my yellow hairpin.

EDIT: No, Rosey! Don't die! But, if we are going to the Oracle, are you (Leona lol) coming? Since you are badly injured I would guess you would stay at camp. I guess you could ride on your vine or something if you want to catch up.

* :wink: *

Lizzie - Athena

"Let's go!" Chelsea jumped up from her seat, ready to go. Everyone in the room stood up and walked out the door while Chiron was busy looking at some evidence.

"So we see who is leader?" I heard one of the others say.

"No!" I exclaimed, stopping everyone. "Only one person can see the Oracle of Apollo. That person is the leader. If the wrong person sees it, you'll go crazy. It has happened before."

"Well, we are going to it's house," Shannon said.

"No. The Oracle is a mummy in the attic to the big House."

"Well, I vote Chelsea to go see the Oracle," I heard one of the half-bloods call out.

Keira - Hades

Keira looked at Chelsea, who looked back at her. Keira nodded. Chelsea took a visible swallow, and left the pavilion.

Keira watched Chelsea leave the pavilion. Keira, personally, had no wish to lead this quest. Keira would much rather stay on the sidelines.

The other half-bloods looked at each other nervously. Keira looked toward Chelsea's retreating back, hoping that she would make it.

*OOhhhhh I get it. Correct me if I'm saying this wrong. Thanks  *

Shannon - Athena

I listened as everyone started murmering about Chelsea being leader. I flinched a little but I went ahead and surrendered my hope. Lizzie said if I was wrong (which I probably was) I could go crazy. I'd like to keep my wonderful mind thank you.

"I think Chelsea should be leader too!" I finally said. I joined my half-sister at the front of the crowd and started to try to plan things out.

"Ok, now that we have that settled. Shouldn't someone accompany Chelsea to the Oracle just in case?" I said.

"Great idea, Shannon! Also, we need a few people here to gather supplies here at camp." Lizzie said. I was glad our relationship was getting better. Teamwork is golden.

It always seems like in the face of danger everyone gets along a little smoother. We all had a common goal. Figure out the monster mystery. Soon, we were discussing amongst ourselves who was going to do what. Teamwork is golden.

EDIT: Whoops. I seem to be having this problem a lot of someone posting right before me. Anyways, whoever posts next can decide if someone accompanies Chelsea to the Oracle (like along the way...not in the house.) Since phantom made it that she went off alone. Or can that happen? I think I'm interpreting it wrong....

*Ahem! Leona has yet to be found. She's just injured. Once things clear up (and I figure out what exactly is going on) I just might make her recover.*

* JC, only one can go to the oracle, who just lives in the attic it is not a dangerous journey there, and anyone could go crazy if the see her, but if the wrong person goes nothing will happen. So Chelsea has to go alone to the attic and then come down sane say a rhyming poem that will then guide the characters to where to go on the quest. And if you have any other questions, or post that would involve book info i would be happy to help you with them, i have read and re read the series*

*Oh!!! I'm so sorry, Rosey. I didn't exactly get what you were saying...and no, i'm not just making something up. :P *

Something was stirring behind me. I could hear rustles of leaves. I looked behind me to see Leona! She had bruises all over her and was crawling on the ground. I thought someone was missing....

"Leona!" I cried.

Everyone turned to see the battered Leona and helped her off her knees to where she can get medical assitance. There were scratches all over her. And claw marks.

"Leona, can you tell me what happened?" I said urgently as one of the guys helped her up.

"It was....It was...." She said, nearly whispering.

"The monster."

That was all I needed to hear. Hurry back, Chelsea, I whispered.

*Sorry again, Rosey! I feel so bad for leaving you out..."

*whew, Capture the Flag is over!*

Jenny - Hephaestus

We won. I' still wasn't sure what the game was exactly, but we did. Hephaetus and Athena and whoever was on our side won.

Those were my final thoughts beofre I went to sleep that night.

And the next morning, I wished we had lost reather than what had happened.

What do you mean, what happened? I dunno! Go ask that gossip-queen Aphrodite kid over there, I heard it from her! Heard what? That there was a monster or something that trashed the blood-soaked camp. I think she said an Athena kid said... you're expecting me to go on and on with that thing, huh? She said that he said that it was Orthrus. I'm still trying to figure out how to ask someone "what the heck is an Orthrus" without seeming like a total dork...

I was just looking around for a decent monster, and didn't have a clue what, sooo...

*Hey thanks guys. *

Chelsea~Poseidon

I have heard of people going crazy after seeing the oracle.

I climbed the stairs to the attic with that thought in mind.

I had never seen the interior of the attic. It was dusty, and filled with old junk. Like a siren's feather and a troll's eye recovered by demigods on a quest far back in history.

Then I saw her. She was shriveled up and quite small actually. "Hello?" I asked. She began to glow and grow larger. She was absolutely dead, and absolutely hideous.

When she opened her mouth a green smoke came out and formed an eerie green image of a child swinging on playground swing set blowing bubbles. I recognized her as my sister. My twin who had died too early.

She turned and spoke to me but in the creepy monotone of the oracle.

"I am the Oracle of Delphi. Ask me a question."

Thoughts flowed through my head.

"What us our quest and how can we accomplish it."

The girl on the swing locked eyes with me a began to blow bubbles that flowed in a wobbly but otherwise straight line.

"You will venture to the island of the Demon King
He's forever watching, always waiting,
To watch you struggle with Hades's knot
And lose what, in vain, you've always sought.

You'll travel by the river that runs forever
Follow the white stag, a curious endeavor
Who'll show you the way that you must fly
To reach the kingdom of the Sky

One shall thwart the bond that can't be broken
Two shall wish they'd never spoken
The others will find the truth... following what is real
Just enough to complete death's deal"

With each stanza the memory blew another bubble. When it was over, I found that even though I remembered it all, I couldn't understand it. I felt like I'd only know what it meant when it was happening. I ran back down and just stood outside trying to take everything in.

*I know, came up with it on the spot. Not my best poem.... but it's something we can effectively work with I guess.*
