Gatian

Latanya’s offer for archery lessons came as as much of a surprise as Jinx’s outright request for a fight. Of course, he’d sensed some kind of excitement in Jinx, and had initially taken it to be at acceptance, but really, she was just spoiling for a fight. There was joy at acceptance, but the desire to fight seemed to hold sway over that for the time being.

Latanya, on the other hand, was emanating a twinge of fear. She probably only heard a few words, or saw the way Jinx and I looked, and assumed we were actually fighting… He shrugged, archery would probably be good for Jinx, it would let her take out her anger, release a bit of fire at a target that wasn’t going to argue about it. More importantly, it would force her to talk to Latanya, maybe the others who were following her as well, if they were all practicing too.

He smiled thankfully, “Sounds like fun.”

“What’re you talking about, Gatian?” Jinx asked, surprised, “Aren’t we going to spar?”

“Later.” He said, “In the meantime, wouldn’t you like to spend some time with these guys, blowing up targets or something?” He looked at Latanya, “I think I’ll take that lesson as well. I’d be much better use with a bow, if I use my power on someone standing in front of me, I get some pretty severe backlash from them.”

Jinx still looked shocked that he’d put off their sparring. He let out a laugh, “Hey, this is war, isn’t it.” Then he realised that she probably felt he’d betrayed her. Without checking her feelings first, he rushed on, “But I promise we can spar later.”

Cedrick thought a moment before replying, "That should be no problem, but I'd still like to see the weapons just to make sure." Jude nodded and headed to her room to grab them and he turned to Ben, "You know, she's in a cheerier mood than usual. She's happy when I visit, but she's not usually open, not even to me at first. You must have some good qualities about you Ben, to make her feel comfortable around you like that"

It looked like Ben was going to reply, but Jude arrived with two revolvers that she put on the table. Cedrick walked up to them and looked them over, "With the proper modifications I shouldn't have a problem blessing these. It's not really my forte, but it shouldn't be difficult. Can I help gathering any supplies?"
I will always fight back, no matter what.

Jinx:

Archery? I didn't know anyone but Latanya who really loved it. Then again I didn't really know anyone else. That's why it somewhat shocked me into bewilderment to find that the people I'd ignored my entire life suddenly were willing to edure my campany. Should I feel pity or be grateful?

Hey, this is war, isn’t it? I replayed Gatian's words and chuckled to myself. Of course he'd used my own words against me, but he had a point. Archery would come in handy if we were to take the enemy from a distance. Still I never gave it much credit. I always told myself that if a pretty girly girl like Latanya could do it than it wasn't for me.

"Fine. As long as we get to spar later," I agreed, remembering the tingling fire within.

I glanced at Latanya. She looked somewhat scared and wouldn't meet my gaze. Just like usual, and it wasn't just her the rest of the group followed suit. I wasn't angry, however, probably because I was getting used to it.

Jude

Ben didn't seem to like Cedrik at first. I couldn't tell why though. Cedrik was nice, I mean he was an angel so naturally he was pretty good. But a lot of angels can have really sucky personalities. There a a few angels that I would prefer demons to.

I brought the revolvers to Cedrik who decided it would be easy enough to bless the guns after I modified them. Then he offered to help gather supplies. Ben seemed wary to accept help from Cedrik. So I answered, "I'm sure if there is something Ben can't get, you can find it Cedrik." I offered, trying to satisfy both parties.

Ben nodded then said he should go and start gathering supplies. I walked Ben to the door while Cedrik waited in the kitchen.

"Um, thank you for lending me the sword." He said standing on the other side of the thresh hold.

"Just, be careful." I answered waving as he got to the landing. I closed the door and walked into the kitchen.

"What was that?" Cedrik asked mimicking my wave sarcastically. I threw a dish towel at him poured another glass of wine.

"I'm just trying to help him out, something big is coming; you know it too." I replied.

"Yes, soemthing is coming. I just can't believe you let him borrow your father's sword."

"What am I supposed to leave him defensless." I argues.

"If it had been me, you would have told me to find my own weapons. Just saying. Anyways, I'm here on a little recon; making contact with some demon hunters." He poured himself a glass of wine also.

Cedrick took a sip from his glass, "I'm here searching for some demon hunters. There are only so many in the world and every single one counts. Ben is one of them. From what I can gather demons will be opening gates to pour out of. If that's true I'm not so sure we can react in time," he took another sip from the glass.

"So you need hunters as a quick dispatch unit?" Jude asked.

"Something like that. This city is thought to be one of the locations for a attack. I was told to get the local hunters ready. How long till his guns are ready?"

"A week or two with your help. It also depends on how quickly we get the supplies."

Cedrick pondered a moment before setting his glass down, "Might be cutting it close." He started walking towards the door and turned, "I'll be back by tomorrow, and also, that Ben character," he paused a moment and smiled. Jude blushed slightly and threw a rag at him that hit him in the face. He laughed and set the cloth down. "See ya tomorrow." He teleported away without even using the door.

I'm doing this because I think I could make a character that would help the demons out. Everything has been going mainly from angel point of views so.........yeah...

Name: Rush

Age: 19

Race:Demon

Personality: Cocky and sarcastic. He's flirtatious when he wants to be and often is the first to pick a fight.

Strength/ability: He's good at persuasion. He can't make you think or do anything you don't want to, but he can convince you- in other words. If you don't feel it or believe in some way that what he's saying is the truth then he can't persuade or convince you in anyway. Oh, and he has a strong influence on the weak minded(some humans). It's his voice.

Weakness: If you resist his voice he loses power over you. Just the slightest rejection to his words and he has massive trouble regining you. (kinda like Jinx, but not in the same way)

Appearance: http://media.photobucket.com/image/cool ... 1.jpg?o=13 about 6'2

Other: Not up for love. He blames his mom for every problem he's ever faced. He may lead women on, but that's about it.

**Don't worry I'll find a way to fit him in. I already got permission. I'm gonna use Rush to answer Rose**

Sighing, she was grateful that both Senra and Jinx accepted her offer. She was also glad to have the company, whether or not they liked her, for she didn't talk to many people. Walking toward the target, she propped up a second one about five feet from it, in line with the first one. Grabbing the extra bow she had sitting next to it, she asked the two girls to stand in front of the targets.

"Ok, ladies first," she chuckled, "Ok, Cale, come on up." Senra giggled at this, and Cale glared at her, then smiled. "Senra, stand here, in front of this one. Jinx, you stand in front of this one." She placed them both about fifteen feet in front of each target, and handed them both a bow, with three arrows each.

"Now, pick up your bow, and hold it like this." She demonstrated with an imaginary one, "Make sure you don't point it at anyone else. Then, load your arrow," again she demonstrated, "pull back the string," Don't hesitate, "and release." She heard the arrows whizz through the air and hit the target.

Senra:

Senra shot the arrow and saw the arrow land on the white. She frowned and strung the bow again. Cariad walked over.

"Not bad."

"It's horrible." She frowned. "I don't like weapons anyway."

"Here, let me help." He carefully put his hand on her's, wrapping his arms around her so he could help her pull back the string and then release. The arrow flew and hit the bulls eye. For some reason she didn't care though.

"Good one." Cale laughed. "Now do it on your own."

Jinx:

I snorted to myself. Cariad was showing Senra how to aim better and clearly he wasn't aware of the color rushing to her cheeks. How oblivious he was. I don't need a man's help.....I don't need any one's help.

With a rush of fire I lit the entire bow including the arrow, ablaze with fire. I could control it, though; it wouldn't burn the wood to a crisp as long as I didn't want it to, nor did it burn me. Glancing at the center of the target I took aim, pulled back, and released. The blazing arrow shot through the air and struck the target right outside the center mark.

"Ugh." Maybe Gatian was right, I was happy to do some kind of fighting even if it wasn't with an actual angel. Without even thinking I whipped arrow after arrow into place on my bow and released, each one landing just outside the red. Stupid target.

I sighed, and stared at the bulls eye. My father's face was all I saw and disappointment filled me. Why couldn't I hit the damn bulls eye! I cleared my head and breathed deeply. This was one thing I wouldn't give up on, I glance around the arena sized room.Latanya was a few targets over and at least 10 arrows were lodged right smack in the center of her target. Closer to me Senra's arrows were surrounding the bulls eye, but only one was exactly there. I recalled it was the one Cariad had so kindly helped her with, and the smile was back on my face. I scanned the room for Gatian. Where is he...

Near the last target Gatian was smiling almost glowing. He looked like an angel, so handsome. How ironic.

***It was Cariad that helped her shoot it. Cale is her brother. Cariad is Jamie's character.***

Looking over the targets from where she stood, she could see that everyone had done an amazing job. Just because they weren't directly on the bulls eye didn't mean they weren't good.

"Hey guys," everyone turned to look at her, "put your bows down for a moment." They did as she asked, some actaully setting them on the floor at their feet. "Jinx, keep yours in hand."

Startled, Jinx paused half-way, then stood back up with her bow. Now, Latanya stood directly in front of Jinx's target, looking at it, then back to Jinx.

"Jinx," she turned to face the girl, "you're really good with controlling your fire, and you shoot that bow very well." She moved over slightly so that the bulls eye could be seen just past her upper arm. "I want you to focus, hit the bulls eye next to my arm. Use your fire to control the arrow. And remember, most importantly, don't hesitate."

Jinx:

Don't hesitate.....My arm shook even though I hadn't even raised the bow yet.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Latanya." I hadn't even hit the bulls eye.

She shook her head,"Nonsense. Try it, come on all you need to do is focus."She smiled reassuringly and I nodded. The bow shook again as I took aim at the bulls eye right next to her arm. Please, don't miss...Within a split second the arrow was launched into the air. The fire grew as I did what Latanya advised. I controlled it as I had never done before. I could swear the whole room stopped and held their breath. It was more difficult then I would've thought and it didn't completely turn from the path toward Latanya's head until the last dwindling moment.

I would've laughed at the sudden fear and pure shock on Latanya's face if I wasn't so engrossed. The arrow twirled and landed at the very edge of the red circle. Bulls eye The sudden terror in the room dissolved as Latanya smiled with relief and urgently stepped a few paces away from the target.

**I'll add Rush in tomorrow...probably....maybe...**

He felt a swell of pride and relief burst from both Latanya and Jinx, and smiled himself. It had been an excellent shot, and maybe Jinx had actually found an activity among the angels that she actually enjoyed.

"Not bad, Jinx." he said from the other end, raising his bow and scoring another hit just on the edge of the bulls eye. Then, thinking for a moment and changing Latanya's method ever so slightly, he raised the bow, aiming it slightly right of the bulls eye as he released. This time, it hit only just off dead-centre.

Gatian looked back to Jinx and winked, "Maybe you'll actually give me a challenge when we spar." He sent a small ripple of humour towards her.

Ben

The next day, getting to Jude's house before Cedrick did was one of Ben's top priorities. He'd got most of the stuff on the list without too much trouble, and no doubt Cedrick had already worked out what he wouldn't be able to get on short notice and had gone after that.

He wasn't jealous of Cedrick any more, he didn't need to be. The angel had told him that much already, even if he hadn't meant to. But the problem wasn't Cedrick, it was the fear that Jude might pick Cedrick over him. As if she's only got two choices. he scolded himself.

By the time he reached the door, he was almost breathless, but there was no sound from inside, so Cedrick couldn't be in there. He knocked at the door, but there was no answer. So he knocked again, panicking a little. What if she'd been attacked while he had her father's sword? "Jude, are you in there? It's Ben!"

Jude

Someone was knocking at the door. It took a few minutes for my brain to register that. At first it seemed like it was a dream. Someone was knocking and shouting my name. I sad up suddenly and toppled out of the bed. I stumbled towards the door in the overszed tshirt I used for pajamas, rubbing my head that was now throbbing slightly. My eyes didn't seem to want to stay open for more than a few seconds at a time. I only caught glimpses of my trip to the door and managed to run into the kitchen table, which was in the opposite direction of the door

Eventually I found the door handle and pulled it open. Ben was standing there looking worried. And I was standing there in a tshirt, my hair probably a mess. Great. There wasn't much I could do now.

"Good morning." he said.

"Stop shouting!" I replied.

"Im not shouting," he answered. I had a hang over. I motioned for him to come in and sit down. I went into the kitchen and put some coffee on then decided I should find some pants.

Ben waited in the living room while I went into my bedroom. I wasn't exactly the most organized person so it took a few minutes to find a pair of jeans and new shirt amongst the piles of clothes on the floor. I ran a brush through my hair so it look half way decent and wiped off the smeared make up.

Ben

He looked a little embarrassed as he sat there in the kitchen, twiddling his thumbs a little. Her father's sword lay across the table in front of him, Ben hadn't known where else to put it. He felt a little foolish, of course she'd just been sleeping. She'd probably drank herself to sleep the night before, and he silently scolded himself for being inconsiderate enough to bring up the memories of her father, and then to wake her up.

Deciding he didn't want to just sit around and wait for her, he finished what she'd started, pouring the coffee and adding milk and sugar to his own. He realised suddenly how much he needed it, he'd gotten up far too early in his haste to get there before Cedrick. He left hers, not knowing what she'd want with it, and sat back down.

She came out after a few minutes, brushing her hair. Ben smiled to her shyly, trying to ignore just how beautiful she managed to look even just after she'd been woken up. Even when she'd been at the door, rubbing sleep out of her eyes and shouting at him for shouting, she'd been stunning.

"Sorry I woke you up..." he said, "I just thought, you know, when you didn't answer the door for a bit, that maybe you'd been attacked or something. I was worried."
