So I don't understand this yet. What's all the stuff on this website? What are points and badges and everything? I just joined but I'm excited. I love to write.

Points! You earn points by reviewing the work of others. You review by finding something to review first--click on the "Discover Works" tab up top. You can think pick a forum that sounds interesting, and find something that sounds interesting. You earn up to 50 points per review. You can also get points from greeting other new members.
You use points to post your own work (it costs 100 points), or to give gifts to friends.
Badges come in five types. Two are for reviewing, and you get them when people nominate you as a certified awesome reviewer. One's for when you get 1001 votes. One's for being good at greeting new members. The last one is for being excellent at Storybooking (RPGing)
The people with usernames in red are the admins, and Nate is the king of them all (and a cool guy too.) Moderators are in green, dark green senior mods and light green junior mods. Orange is for distinguished members.
As for what YWS is all about... hanging out with other young writers, reviewing works of other young writers, getting your own work critiqued, and, well, becoming a better writer. So, lots of writing.

Hello, my name is Sarah, Im 20 years old; and their is so much that I would like to share, and so many ways I would like to introduce myself to you. However I've been trying to write this post for the last hour, determined to make myself seem as interesting as possible, to make myself seem like someone you would like to get to know better; and yet none of it seems to come out, quite how I would like it to, and I would prefer it if I didn't make an absolute fool of myself on the first day.
A few things about me: I am currently attending University, pursuing my BSN: Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. After which, I plan on becoming certified in Neonatal Resuscitation; and Intensive Care. I wan't to be a neonatal(infant) nurse. I have a reserved, and introverted personality. I am quiet, although I wouldn't classify myself as shy. I flourish around people, however I do need time to myself, to re-charge so to speak. I love seafood, practicing acoustic guitar, tending to my roses, warm weather, good books, and writing (although I am a bit sh*t at it. I would very much like to improve).

Hello everyone. My name is Ramona, as you can tell. I spend most if my hours reading, and then I gain new information and let my mind explore new ideas. I am currently working on a novel, or a project, if you will. It's called Inferno, and has 79 pages. I'm quickly making progress, but I wouldn't have made it this far with out my sister and friends' support.
I also like to write poetry, and I am working on a very..odd short story on FictionPress. Though it's not as intense as Inferno. Even though I am 13 years old, I have succeeded in being selected into Writers Camp when I was younger, and I have recently submitted a short excerpt of my novel to a writing contest, with the reward being 100 dollars. Though it's not a whole lot, I am hoping that I will come on top, and win that money so I can use it towards publishing my book.
I am glad to have found another writing community. I can't wait to post some of my work!
