Welcome New Members! [2]

Welcome all new writers! Let me introduce YWS to you. Young Writers Society is an online community where young writers can share their literary works with one another. Others then read the work and provide constructive criticism on the poem or story; in effect a very large writing workshop managed by one's own peers. In this way, members drastically improve upon their ability to write (formally and creatively) in a matter of months. And because members exhibit their work for an audience rather than just a teacher or parent, not only are they able to quickly progress in their writing skills, but they also found enjoyment in doing so. You can keep a blog to keep track of your work, or you can chat in our chatroom with other writers. YWS also even has a bookstore!

Nate Caldwell founded the Young Writers Society while a student at Saint Mary's College of Maryland in November 2004. The site quickly grew to over 110 users by the end of 2004, and has continued to expand ever since. Today, the site boasts over 10,000 registered members; 10% of which regularly visit the site. The Young Writers Society (YWS) is home to over 10,000 original poems and 15,000 original stories posted by their authors, ages 13 to 25.

Hey I'm Caroline! I'm new here so I just thought I would leave a post to introduce myself. If anyone wants to show me the ropes and give me a helping hand I would most definitely appreciate it!

Hi, I'm new too. I really enjoy both reading and writing, and I have quite a few stories stacked up in google docs right now that I'm gonna upload soon. I really look forward to reading other people's work and getting feedback on my own.

I'm relatively new. I've been a member for a only a week, but I already feel like I belong here! Thanks Snoink for the welcome letter, and I will be sure to capatilaize every first word of my sentences from now on! (Sorry, I didn't know it mattered before.) Bye!

Heya, Sabryna here. Or as my friends call me Sab. Just thought I'd drop a line and spread the word that I just joined and am glad to know that the YWS welcome team is so friendly. I'll be sure to spend plenty of time writting reviews and getting to know new people. Hope you all drop by my profile once in a while to say a little hello then.
I've already posted my first piece of work and hope to get some good reviews as well, I'll be sure to stay in touch.

I'm Ellen, from Australia, in high school, la di da...
I love to write, am currently working on a novel, a couple of short stories, not that much poetry and a play. I'm also trying to read over 60 books this year (to be like Stephen King!). I don't know how much of this I'll achieve... but I'll try!

Hello everyone! I'm 12, but my parents allowed me to join the site because of my gift of writing. So far I'm writing 70 notebook paged stories. (The average sixth grader writes 2-6 notebook pages.) I like writing magic and fantasy and I really enjoy talking to everyone ^-^ I'm currently writing a few stories and learning more about writing every day. I'm talented with my work, but I have to teach myself to write because I write a different way from my school. I hope you really enjoy my stories when I post them and hope to get to know all of you!

One of my poems has also been featured in a small magazine in Arizona.

Hey everyone, I'm Sam (or Sami). I'm 17 years old and I absolutely adore anything related to literature I love to read, just as much as I love to write. Not to sound full of myself or anything, but I definitely know how to write, I just have troubles coming up with ideas and such because I personally think I lack a little beginners creativity... Oh well, I usually manage!

Well on the plus side, I pride myself on being open-minded. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely known to be opinionated, but I love listening and learning new things, and I accept ALMOST anyone! I'm usually pretty go with the flow, because I love to live in my own little world...until you piss me off--then I'm all in your world and I will not back down!

Umm...my native language is English, but I also know French and German, and I'm planning to learn more
