I smiled, running my hands up to her waist and kissing her neck lightly.

"That is up to you, darling," I said as my pager went off again. "As for me, I have to go." Ducking under her arms, I ran from the room and down to our information desk.

"Dr. Kensington, one of our old patients is back. Apparently the breast implant you gave her a few months ago has been bothering her.

I rolled my eyes.

"Give me her file," the nurse pushed it across the counter.

"She's in room 28."

I nodded, remembering this woman already. She was so obsessed with her breasts - it was almost frightening. I was fairly certain I had done everything right, so I had no idea what the problem could be.

I was confused when Annalise Martin was friendly to me, torn between my guilty conversation with Tyson and her probably genuine kindness. It was only once Tyson had sauntered off could I turn my attention back to her. She was pretty, with big eyes, but she had dark marks under her eyes. Her hand in mine when we shook was firm and strong. She looked to me like a hard worker, maybe if I was going to have to deal with anyone it wouldn't be so bad to deal with someone like her. I excused myself from her anyway and went to find Dr Morrow, but I couldn't see him anywhere. I wanted some kind of job to do, but when I couldn't find Morrow and couldn't differentiate between residents and other interns I just took myself down to triage to see what I could do. There was a nurse there, with blonde hair tied high in a pony tail, who let me help her change beds and stuff for the rest of the morning.

After an hour or so she told me to take a break, I wandered back to the coffee room and drank a cup of horrible, machine coffee in a plastic cup. I sat in one of the uncomfortable chairs and called Jack. He answered, groggy.
"Lil?"
"Hey, Jack...you okay?"
"Hah, yeah, I'm uh... look can you call back?"
"Not really, I'm on a break, first day remember?"
He said something I didn't catch, but I could hear talking in the background, a woman's voice. I wasn't even sure what I thought about that, when I'd left for America he'd said he didn't want to end it but that didn't mean anything with Jack. He'd said that a thousand times before.
"Look, hon, I can't talk now."
"Are you drunk, Jack? What time is it over there?"
"Uh.. like 8pm, I gotta go."
He'd hung up before I could say goodbye, I turned off the phone in frustration. Maybe I would go to lunch with Tyson after all.

wow writer five million pages while I am gone! Sheesh!
Billy were you talking to me when I you said Ben wasn't calimed cause I thought someone else also asked about that...

Corrie:

We were led to a room filled with lockers. I wheeled up to my locker and put my small purse in it and pulled the clipboard out. Some other interns walked in and that was when I saw him. He was grown up and so differnt, but to me he still looked the same. I don't know how I hadn't noticed him before, maybe I just didn't want to belive he was here. It was Brian Ledge. He looked over at me and I quickly looked away from him, I was hoping he wouldn't notice it was me, I wasn't ready.

Brian and I used to be good friends, his sister was my best friend. His mom was the one driving the car when we got in an accident that rendered me paralized. She had been taking me home so I had been the only other one in the car. Brian's mom managed to escape with a broken color bone and a few bruises.

Our families used to be close despite our financial differences; but after the accident there was bad blood between us. The Ledges paid for all of the medical bills because my family couldn't, but we weren't the same. We moved before our problems were resolved.

Oh God, he was walking towards me. I thought I was getting away from my past and what I was threatening to become by coming to D.C., but my life never seems to go the way I want it anymore.

Brian-

It was her, after all these years I was running into her at my internship? She looked away from me but she wasn't getting away that easy.

I grabbed my clip board and walked towards her. I could tell she didn't want to talk to me but I needed to talk to her. I needed to see how she was, how she had been. I kneeled down in front of her trying to get her too look me in the eyes.

"Corrie?" She finally looked at him. Her expression didn't hold anger, I couldn't read her expression at all really. She gave a feeble smile, "How are y-"

"Let's not do this right now." She said and set her wheelchair into motion. I watched her leave, hopeful that we would get to talk later.

*sorry I know you said we are not supposed to involve our own characters but I didn't know what else to do since I didn't know what was going on with Ben..and I am kind of lost..but I promise they wont be interacting much...who was it that claimed Brian by the way??*

Name:Ava Carey ((((throwing in a little more drama, Sugar Beth's sister, if that's ok)))))

age: 35

appearance: Blonde hair with black highlights :P, brown eyes high cheek bones.

Patient: Teporarry m'kay?

___________

Ava

"What seem's to be the problem, Ava?" Evan asked Ava.

Ava rolled her eyes. "It's about time you got your ass in here." She glared. "Well, it's actually very uncomftorable. I was wondering if you could you know???" Ava said waiting for him to finish for her.

"Can I what???" Evan asked.

"Look kid. I'm getting married next week. I'm not going to my wedding looking like this!" Ava raised her voice moving her hands to show her body.

KID, she have called Evan Kid, ha! Evan looked at her from head to toe, he'd been the one fixing something that didn't need fixing. She was already beautiful and rich.

**Thanks a bunch Max!**

Evan Kensington

I ignored her attitude, noticing the problem immediately.

I hadn't been the one to finish her surgery - I'd helped her get everything settled, and then one of the other doctors had done it because I was at my father's funeral.

They had stitched it wrong, and it was beginning to sag in an odd way, making it look unnatural (which it was).

"I can fix that, but you'll have to make an appointment to have it fixed," I said, jotting a few notes down in Ava's file.

"How long until it can be fixed?"

"If you make the appointment immediately,I could probably get it fixed up before your wedding. It'd be a squeeze, and you'd be stuck in the hospital for a few days...actually..." I looked through my schedule, noticing a large empty space. "Stay here." I walked out to speak with one of our nurses.

"Would I be able to perform a surgery later today, say around 4, without a problem?" I asked.

"I don't know, would you?" I groaned.

"You know what I mean. I'm fully capable, but is everything available to me?"

"It should be, yes."

"Good, sign me up so everyoen else knows about it." the nurse nodded and walked away. I went back to Ava's room.

"Miss Carey, I could have you in surgery around 4 today, if you're okay with that?"

Ava

"Um, it would be awesome if you could doing it at 4." Ava smiled, of course it wasn't a real smile. Ava looked at her manicured nails and rolled her eyes. She tried stirring up a conversation. "So, Evan how long have we been friends?"

He snorted. "Friends?"

She glared, "you know what I mean."

"I dunno three years? Four years?" He asked.

Ava's mind then clicked. "Oh my God."

"What?!" Evan said alarmed.

"You learned to count." She mocked.

"Haha so funny I forgot to laugh." Evan rolled his eyes. "You know todays a busy day all of the new interns and what not."

Ava's face lit up, "Carey."

"What?" Evan asked raising an eyebrow

"My sister, Sugar."

"Ava please don't call me Sug-" Evan said

"Not you, you idiot! My sister Sugar Beth, I call her Sugar or Carey, but never Beth she hates it. Have you met her?" Ava asked.

Sorry it's been so long since I posted!

Bella: I'll get to that when I can but patients don't tend to do much wandering around hospitals.

Daniel

"Sorry, it won't happen again," Jeremy promised as the Chief resident towered over him. Man, that guy could be tough ion his residents but then, only as tough as they were on their interns. It was a struggle not to laugh at their crisp, ordered hierarchy. Of course, the chief's expression didn't help. He was one of those men I admire, the type who can crease his face into absolutely any expression and still have the cutest little button nose right in the middle.

"See that it doesn't," the chief resident snapped before storming on down the hallway, searching for more tardiness.

"The chemistry between you two-" I said with a grin but Jeremy cut me off:

"Don't. Don't even go there." And then we both chuckled and he took another look at my chart, his tired eyes roaming over the scrawled notes.

"Okay, I think I can fit your first few scans in at two. Does that sound alright to you?" Jeremy glanced at the clock on the wall, the hands poised to indicate that it was currently eleven.

"But I have an appointment with an absolutely gorgeous doctor at two. I couldn't possibly do it then," Daniel claimed.

"Who?" Jeremy asked, confusion creeping into his expression as he flicked through more notes. I leaned forward with an enthusiastic grin across my face.

"Well, he has these enigmatic green eyes and the most wonderful little tuft of dark hair and his name's Jeremy." Jeremy shifted a little uncomfortably and I laughed at him, forcing him to crack a smile. "You should go lie down, Ray."

Roxanne

I checked my schedule, reading the name of the next patient on my list: Hannah Marsh. I paged Evan a reminder and entered surgery to start prepping only to find that Evan was already there.

"You called, Roxy?" Evan asked with a grin. I brushed past him to the sink and began washing my hands.

"Hannah Marsh next. Our burns patient, did you finish reading the file?" I asked. He nodded grimly.

"Could be tough," he said. "Who's assisting?"

"Lauren and Mike from surgery," I replied. Evan frowned and I half smiled. The rivalry between plastic surgery and general surgery was petty but if it kept the residents at their sharpest, I wasn't going to complain. "They've already been working with her to stabalise her condition so she's as much their patient as she is ours." Evan nodded reluctantly and handed me a pair of gloves before pulling his own on.

**I was talking to you, Rory, but even so I'm thinking I'll play Ben as a bit of a flirt (but probably not to the extent of the other guys, and it won't be a conscious thing)**

Ben Morrow

Ben closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying not to show how stressed he already was. The morning was barely out, and already he'd lost two of his interns. If the chief found out about this, she wouldn't be happy at all. He turned on his heel and began walking back towards the locker room - if they weren't there, at the very least he'd be able to find out where they'd gone from there.

He found Corrie wheeling out of the locker room just as they arrived, looking like she was trying to hold herself together against something. He frowned a little, more out of concern than of any other reason. He knew better than to ask what was wrong at this time. Even so, he had to make sure nothing was too bad, "Are you alright, Corrie?"

**Oh, I have an idea Heather!!*

Isabella Milan - Neurosurgery

I slipped into my patients room, excited to see how the surgery had gone. As I pulled back the curtain to her bed, I realized that I must have came into the wrong room.

"Um...hello?" I said slowly, looking down into the face of a handsome man that must have been at least a few years my younger.

"Hi. I'm fairly certain you aren't my doctor?" he replied, a questioning tone in his voice.

"No, I'm not. I must have entered the wrong room. I'm Doctor Isabella Milan," I reached out my hand to shake his.

"And I'm Daniel Aster," he said, shaking my hand and smiling up at me.

"Nice to meet you Daniel." I wasn't eager to leave to quickly. "What're you in for?"

Evan Kensington - Plastic Surgery

"We're performing the general grafting skin procedure," Roxanne said, as if reminding the three of us. We all nodded, having read through the file and known this already.

"I'll start here, with a small insiscion," Lauren said quietly, as if talking to her self, as she brought the knife down to the patient's skin.

=D firearris and october - Pretty much what's happened as far as interns everyone's sort of following their resident around, only some of Morrow's people has got lost. Last thing we were in the locker room... my character Lily got lost and went to do some random stuff with some nurses just to pass the time (haha) ..

if it's ok with everyone, seeing as some people are a bit lost, we could just skip straight to like.. lunch break and everyone's gone to the hospital canteen because that seems like the obvious place? Then we can pick up from there with people together and not lost ^^

I hope that's ok!

Jeremy Raynor
The chief totally whipped me in front of Daniel, it was kind of embarrassing, he was one of the few guys I respected round here, which might seem funny seeing as all the doctors round here were skilled. No, I liked Daniel because he had tenacity and honesty, he didn't let all those little annoyances (and he had plenty) just wreck him, like I did. I waited til the chief had gone, pulled myself together.

"Okay, I think I can fit your first few scans in at two. Does that sound alright to you?" I asked him, already worrying a little about how I was even going to fit him in there.

"But I have an appointment with an absolutely gorgeous doctor at two. I couldn't possibly do it then," Daniel claimed.

"Who?" I was sure that wasn't happening, I'd grabbed Daniel's care for myself, in a kind of irrational way. I knew he was hard work, one thing went wrong and then twenty others on top of it, but I liked him.

"Well, he has these enigmatic green eyes and the most wonderful little tuft of dark hair and his name's Jeremy." I freaked out, inwardly, my head suddenly buzzing with some ridiculous possibilities of replies. It was stupid, I honestly didn't know what to say. My face must have been a picture, he laughed at me, tipping his head back and giggling like a kid.
"You should go lie down, Ray."
I sort of nodded, my wedding band burning a scar on my finger. Jesus, I was acting like I'd been caught in the act.
"You're right, I should lie down."
"Don't you ever sleep anymore, you don't look so well. Maybe you should check yourself in here, like me. We could have a room together, how's that sound?"
He was joking, I reminded myself. A joke, I can take a joke.
"You're kidding, I wouldn't check myself into this hospital if you paid me. I'd go to yours, much better service. Free cable."
He studied me carefully for a moment, then put his finger down on my chart and bent it down.
"You have an appointment at.. now," he informed me, "are you going to that?"
"Damn."
"Sorry," he was smiling a sort of satisfied smile, "to keep you busy."

I dashed out of the room, this patient I was going to see was some hardcore guy, the rich owner of a company who'd decided against all expectation to place the care for his lung cancer in the hands of a county hospital. On my way out of the room Isabella Milan entered, but I didn't have time to stop and talk to her. If I kept him waiting my ass would be on the line, with the chief already unimpressed with me.
"Dr Raynor," he said, when I arrived only 3 or 4 minutes late, "I'm so sorry to drag you out of bed for my sake, it must be terribly inconvenient for you to have to do your job."
I stopped myself from growling some smart response, only sat opposite him in the little room and glanced at my clipboard again.
"We did secondary scans, after that first round of chemo you're looking at some improvement. Which is a good thing, but.."
"But don't get my hopes up?"
"Not exactly. It's looking good so far, but your lungs just aren't processing at the right speed. I'd like to keep you here, get you some oxygen."
"That's not possible."
"Sir, I would advise it."
"Yes, yes, I figured that from the way you were just advising me just now. But I have work to do, I can't possibly be cooped up in some hospital room."
"You can do your work without oxygen?" I asked. He gave me a sharp look.
"I can work fine for now. It will have to do."
I sighed, booked him another chemo course 6 weeks in the future, made my excues and left. I hated working with lung cancer patients, always thought they weren't as sick as they were. Like not being able to breathe was normal. Then again, that guy had been a heavy smoker, probably breathing was a strange sort of luxury anyway.

On my way out, I ran into a tall, pretty girl looking a little bit lost. An intern. Damnit, maybe she was one of the ones who was meant to be with me but I'd missed.
"Excuse me, are you alright?"
She turned to me, looking a little relieved.
"I was meant to be with my resident, but I kind of got separated. I'm Sugar-Beth Casey."
"Who was your resident, Carey?" Sugar-Beth, I laughed inwardly. What was this?
"Dr Parker." Oh thank God. Parker could deal with this one then. I had no idea where she was though, and looking at the clock it was lunch time anyway.
"Well, to be honest, all the other interns will probably be in the canteen by now. On the first day we have a pretty rigid schedule. Follow the signs."
I got away from her quickly. I wondered what her story was, she creeped me out. I wanted mostly to find Morrow or Parker now, figure out who the hell I was meant to be looking after this next year. I hoped they weren't a pain. I never dealt with stupid interns well. Maybe they'd given me a miss this year, considering the problems I'd had previously. Could have happened.

--
I edited this slightly =] fixed Sugar-Beth's name (even though Jeremy still got it wrong (he's a jerk ^_~) and also added in Isabella just a tiny bit to make the continuity work. Hope that makes it a bit better...

**Okay, so our timing is pretty much completely off. Everyone is doing something without really paying attention to other things. I can understand the little things, like mistaking someone for standing up with the other writing posted with that character sitting down, but we shouldn't have characters in "two places at once" for lack of a better way to word it.

andimlovegalore -- I had put my character, Isabella, into Daniel's room talking to him. Granted, you never posted as leaving, there wasn't a post that in anyway suggested that you had stayed or left, so I did that to keep the storybook going and to get some more character interaction. You completely ignored this.

I don't want to sound rude, but that really did upset me.

The only possibility I can think of is that you were backing up to move you character along, in which case please post that at the top so other writers know that.

I do agree that we should do a lunch post or something though - like where all the characters are in the cafeteria with the patients eating? I think there should a cafeteria for the patients to be in, so they don't have to stay in their rooms. That way they can interact more...

Unless, Heather, you wouldn't mind Isabella sitting in with Daniel at lunch?

Well...that was a long post. Sorry if I sounded upset - I'm relatively irritable today (babysitting) and that really got to me.

>>We do have a discussion thread for this.
And yes, next posts can just be headed to the cafeteria. Patients able to go to lunch may go to lunch should they so choose.

Tyson Cromwell

Tyson found his way up two stories to the cafeteria, pushing the doors open lightly and stepping inside. It was actually quite a nice cafeteria, not like you see on TV. There were family members, patients, doctors all eating in the same place--though there seemed to be a division with staff eating near the windows and the others in the middle area and closer to the door.

He yawned a bit as he made his way to the foodline, slowly moving his tray along the traypath and choosing his food. A chicken sandwich, granola bar, and small chef salad with a pepsi would do it. Tyson had originally planned on bringing his lunch, and figured he would sometime in the future, but time ran a bit close this morning and hadn't really had time to worry about it. But, the hospital food really didn't seem all that bad.

Tyson pulled his wallet out of his pocket to pay for his lunch. He flipped it open to reveal a picture of a small toddler opposite his drivers license. He smiled a millisecond to the picture and then pulled his cash out, dropping his smile and placing his wallet back in it's origin. He headed out to the seating area near the window with the others and found an empty table with six chairs--perfect. He took a seat and glanced outside and, to his amazement, found even more staff eating on the same level at the outdoor picnic tables. He shrugged and vowed to try that tomorrow--fresh air never hurt anyone!

**Hey, I'm sorry if I sounded at all rude in my above post. I didn't mean to sound rude or mean or anything, I just wanted to make my opinion/thought/thing clear, and I think I may have done that in the wrong way. My apologies.**

Isabella Milan

I listened quietly as Daniel spoke, completely forgetting about the patient I had been so eager to see before.

"Are you hungry Daniel?" I asked, noticing that the patients who were able to were heading down to the cafeteria.

"Yes," Daniel nodded enthusiastically.

"Are you allowed to go down to the cafeteria to eat, or would you like me to bring you something?" I asked, leaning against the door frame as I spoke.
