Is it alright if I make a male character too? I totally have summer/nothing to do ^^' and I like writing guys... I just get along with them easier, they're not such stubborn characters! I hope that's alright =] just say if it's not...
Name: Jeremy Raynor
Age: 27
Position: Resident, speciality oncology
Appearance: Around 5'8-5'9, dark hair, pale skin, thin with quiet short hair and a small, neat beard. He looks tired underneath his eyes, which are green, and he wears a wedding ring although he has been divorced for several years.
Biography: Jeremy - who is called Raynor most of the time - can be disagreable some of the time, he is ambitious and often critical. He has been accused of being a hypocrite because while he is harsh towards faults in others, he is often late or rude or inappropriate himself. He keep quiet about his past, beyond his failed marriage with a woman called Jessica and estrangement from his parents no one really knows anything else. He's been at the hospital for three years.
Jeremy Raynor
I came in late, very late, my eyes prickling from tiredness. It had been another long night, sleepless until early moring. I headed straight for the coffee machine, downed one and then another straight after until everything came back to normal speed again. It wasn't until I'd seen two patients - a kid I'd been with since 2006 miraculously coming back up after Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and a guy who wanting me to check out his kidneys which turned out to be a false alarm - that I realised what I'd missed that morning.
Freaking interns. Wasn't I meant to pick up a few of those guys? I wondered how steamed chief was gonna be, or the other residents who'd had to pick up my slack. I sighed inwardly, what a pain in the butt this was gonna be. Interns were a nightmare, always hanging around asking dumb questions, wasting my time. And only a pathetic handful would be genuinely interested in the medicine behind things, they'd all be either patient-centred back-story ridden bleeding hearts or twisted ambition kids with nothing but money on their minds. I wasn't looking forward to the job of weeding out the good ones much.
I was too annoyed with the whole thing to really concentrate on where I was going, so I didn't even see Danny hanging around in the reception, I just heard him flirting shamelessly with the receptionist. I remembered, distantly, an appointment I had with him, another cancer check up. Seriously, sucks to be that guy. I followed him into his room - a private room mind you, because of all his lovely connections - and said:
"Hello, Daniel."
I was still too tired and in too much of a bad mood to be as friendly as I usually would have been with Daniel, he's a good guy, kind of annoying but good company. Jovial. He sort of smiled back at me, a smile that only moved up one side of his mouth and made him look younger than he was and cheeky. I couldn't help laughing at him, lifting my tiredness for a moment.
"Hi Ray, having a serious day today? You look unwell."
"Look who's talking," I retorted, flicking through the pages of his file clipped to my board, "ooh, this is a nasty one, huh?"
"Uh..yeah. I thought it was a chest infection, like maybe I could sleep it off, but when it got worse, you know. You're gonna poke me with needles aren't ya?"
"Yep, lots of needles." I grinned, which must have looked hideous. "But first I'll get you scanned up. It'll take a while, we're jammed this morning in case you couldn't see already. But you won't mind that too much."
"Second home." He smiled, and probably only someone who'd seen him here as many times as I had would have noticed that it looked a little strained. I wondered if maybe I should say a few words to comfort him, then almost laughed out loud at myself. What could I possibly say?
I was spared even the possibility of coming out with something stupid by the chief, who stormed up to my with a wild look in his eyes.
"What time do you call this?"
I bit my lip and Daniel, behind the chief's back, tried not to laugh.

Kitty - I hope it's alright that I cut in at the end there with a new character.. if you had something else planned I can change it.. oh and I guess from now on I'll do Lily and Raynor together rather than separate.
