Selen:

Selen shrugged, "Here and there. I've never really stayed in one place at a time. I move around a lot." She smiled softly. "I like to travel too. But it's more of I have to travel then I choose to. I've grown to enjoy it though. I've been bout everywhere there is to go but the Elven lands. That's the one place I haven't gone."

Proth

The army marched, following Sir Ramsey Hawthorn and a young war wizard.

The troops were excited. The march to Bailor should only take a little less than several hours. At the midpoint of their march, Sir Ramsey Hawthorn called for a break. He and the war wizard went into the special Captain's tent. The rest of troops stayed in the pavilion.

In the main pavilion, Proth was seated next to some of his friends, drinking ale. His friends did a lot of jesting and Proth mostly listened and laughed. He never was much of a talker.

Within the hour, the resumed their march on Bailor.

Just as the darkness deepened, the troops saw the gates in sight.

Now all I must do is wait for the command. Are we going to break through the gates? Proth suspected that the wizard could open the gates with magic. That would have been preferable to using several men and their brute strenght.

The men eagerly awaited the command from the Captain. He was expected to give a short speech, and lead the ransack.

Kabeth:

He frowned a little, "You have to travel? Why? Are you a fugitive or something?"

"Something like that. I think it's might be because of what I am."

Kabeth smiled again, "Well, hey. I'll stick with you if you want the help. I'll even show you the elven lands. Who knows, you might even be safe there." He rocked back in his chair, trying to gauge her reaction when he heard the sound of fighting out in the street. He looked across at her, "This isn't anything to do with you, is it?" She looked offended, and he raised his hands defensively, "Don't get me wrong - I just meant to say is there anything I should know before an angry mob or something gets here?"

Selen:

Selen looked down at her hands wringing them. How was she supposed to say that soemoen was out to kill her. Someone, or some group that she dind't even know. She didn't know what they looked like, or even if it was a they or a him, or a she for that matter.

"No, it's nothign to do with me." She said looking at him. When 'they' came after her, it was never obvious.

Kabeth:

Kabeth nodded absentmindedly, standing and drawing his sword. People in the inn turned in their seats to look at him with worried expressions, but were relieved when he simply set it on the table and notched an arrow to his bow, aiming it at the door and half-drawing it, waiting for whatever was going to happen to happen. In the silence, a few more people heard the sounds of fighting in the street outside, and began to ready themselves for a fight. The innkeeper himself loaded a heavy looking crossbow and set in on the counter. All eyes were fixed on the door. Kabeth's eyes went to the girl sitting at the table with him, "Whether or not those outside are coming for you, they don't sound friendly. You'd better prepare yourself for a fight."

Even as he spoke, the wall around the door erupted inwards, fire licking at what remained of the frame. Kabeth was knocked to the ground along with several others, seeing soldiers rushing into the room as he pushed himself back to his feet.

Selen:

Selen let her cape drop on the chair and pulled her wings tight against her back so they weren't so obvious, not that anyone was paying attention. She shrank down to her smaller size and flew up to the ceiling beams and hid on one of them pulling out her arrows, at this size they were small, but as soon as they left her bow they went back to normal size making them just as dangerous as they had been before. She took aim at a soilder and waited, they had to be unfriendly, didn't they. Barging in like that. She wasn't going to be the first to shoot though, and she was the safest in the room.

She closed her eyes for a second settling her nerves, she went into fight mode, everything else but the fight dissappearing. She was going to keep focused. No matter what she was going to keep focused, and she was going to make sure Kabeth lived.

Jenie

Jenie stopped outside the throne room and smiled graciously at the guards before reaching into her bag and taking out her potion vial. holding it up to her wing tips she muttered under her breath, letting her magic pour back into the small container, she couldn't greet the king with her dirty-looking wings. As they began to shine in the torchlight, the guards took notice of what she was doing. One of them approached her.

"Ma'am, are you here to see his majesty?"

She raised her eyebrow, "Well, I don't know why else I would be here, or why indeed I would remove my disguise in front of you gentlemen."

He glanced back at his companion, "Well, ma'am, you'll need to get an appointment, as his majesty is very busy at the moment."

"I realise that, I realised that before I arrived here, and that is I have an appointment, so if you will please excuse me."

The guard looked suitably abashed as he stepped aside to let her through. She had expected some sort of conrontation as few people trusted her when they saw her magic. But what choice did she have? She needed to present herself ina suitable manner, and the guards were unlikely to talk to anyone of importance.

Walking forward strongly throught the now open throneroom doors, Jenie approached the king.

He smiled at her as he spoke, "Miss Jenie. What a pleasant surprise."

She sank into a deep curtsy before replying, "Hardly a surprise sir, surely?"

He laughed shortly, "No," getting down to business he composed himself, "What may I do for you Jenie? You don't usually attend my court for no reason."

"No I don't, I am here on business as always. I have been hearing some disturbing rumours your majesty. Rumours of war coming from your liege's country."

He looked ucomfortable, "I was not aware they had reached the far reaches of the lands."

"Oh, I was in the neighbourhood."

He smiled weakly, "I have no doubt of it."

Jenie looked straight at him, knowing he took little offense to the action, "Unfortunately, sir, if indeed the rumours are true, then you have put me in a difficult position. As you know I speak for my entire race, and as such, I feel it is my duty to implore you to reconsider such actions. We fairies, who are forever peaceloving, cannot help but think that this would only help to shaken the already perilous grounds that we walk on. We are not liked, though I hate to admit it. We are considered tricksters and thieves, names many of us have not helped to reprieve, but that we are not all rightfully given. War has only helped in that image, as we are considered the creators of havoc, and therefore by a process of elimination only we could possibly be the reasons. I myself have been accused of planting ideas in the heads of those I work with, including yourself. Sir, though you have always been wise in your desicions, I cannot see how any war would help anyone's cause."

The king had stayed silent during Jenie's monologue, his brow becoming increasingly furrowed At the end he smiled gently but spoke with forced good-humour, "Jenie, you speak as though I have already declared war on every country in this peaceful world," Jenie smiled in reply, "I can assure you I have done no such thing. your people have absolutely nothing to worry about, but I appreciate your concern."

Jenie felt like throwing something at the liar that sat in front of her, but instead kept smiling and curtsied deeply again, "Thank you, your majesty."

she walked quickly out of the grand room, and back through the doors. As she was leaving however, the king called out, "Miss Jenie."

She turned and curtsied again, "yes, your majesty?"

"Will you be staying with us for some time?"

Smiling gently she replied, "I am afraid I cannot, my lord. I am required elsewhere."

He frowned, then smiled back, "Very well, but please, do not hesitate to partake of some supplementary supplies from our stores."

Curtsying once more she said, "Thank you, your majesty," and left the room.

Walking faster now, she went to the storerooms, funing as she marched. The king was so infuriating, and she hated liars. As she gathered some supplies she thought about what to do next. the war was definitely there, no doubt about it. Her people needed some sort of protection, but he wasn't even willing to admit anything was going on.

looking around, she saw that she was alone, and took her bottle out of her bag. Dipping her finger in, she once again coated her wings in the dulling potion, hiding her gossamy golden colour. Once finished she stowed it into her bag, along with her supplies, and draped it around her neck. Changing into her small form once again, she took off, flying over the battlements and scowling at the obvious preperations for an army. she flew through the air, soaring towards the distant mountains, following the path that the soldiers had taken that morning.
It is an established fact that, despite everything society can do, girls of seven are magnetically attracted to the colour pink.

Kabeth:

He looked over to the door to see the soldiers still trying to push through, held back by a number of visiters to the inn, some soldiers wounded by the arrows and quarrels of those who had managed to stay standing when the door had been blow in. There has to be a wizard somewhere nearby...how else could they have pulled that off?

Turning, he began to look for Selen, worried that she might've been hit by the blast as well. She was nowhere in sight. Then, after a moment, his searching was interrupted by a shout. The soldiers had broken through, and a crazed man dressed in the uniform of Galian was bearing down on him, sword raised. He drew his own sword, blocking the blow clumsily and jarring his arm. The soldier pressed on, cutting wildly at Kabeth.

Selen:

Selen's whole body tensed when the soilder went after Kabeth. She let her arrow fly and it embedded it's self in the man's throat. She loaded another arrow and sent it soaring towards another victim. She had to keep from being seen so she moved to another area so that she wouldnt' be in the same place for long. if there was a magician with the group she could be in trouble if he or she spotted her. She let another arrow fly then felt a tingling run up her spin. Someone spotted her, and that someone wasn't friendly. Her eyes searched everyone. Where was he? It was the magician, she just knew it was. '

**Sorry I haven't posted in ages, I was going to on Thursday afternoon, but it was my brother's birthday, then we went away for the weekend and I had no internet access...**

Kabeth:

He looked around with a start as the arrow embedded itself in the soldier's throat. That had to have come from her, no one else in the room had a chance to load a bow. But where was she? No doubt part of her magic...Although the wizard'll be looking for her. He used his brief respite to shake his arm back to life again, then adjusted his grip on the sword and began moving around the edge of the room, searching for the wizard. The soldiers were all in uniform, although one was standing aside from the attack, surveying the room with cold eyes. A shiver ran down Kabeth's spine - that had to be him. No doubt he was in charge of the attack as well, the soldiers seemed to be almost exclusively gibbering madmen. Yes, they were facing Galian. Kabeth began to make his way towards the wizard, who seemed more preoccupied with finding the mystery archer.

*Don't worry I know how that is, just didn't want this to die*

Selen:

Selen curled up in a hole that was in the rafter hoping to disappear from view for a few minutes. Once the tingling in her spine stopped she got up and took a few more spots ducking down to hide once more. She felt the wood shake a little and her blood ran cold. He was just going to destroy the rafter's so she had to show herself. Fear ran up her spine as she looked around for somewhere to go. She glanced around and saw a spot in the roof it'sself that would be a good hiding place, but to get there would mean to expose herself. She heard the wood start to groan under some unknown weight and she took a deep breath. Either way would be suicide, she knew that. She peeked out to see which way the wizard was looking. Taking a deep breath when he was turned away from her she lept in the air and darted towards the hole in the roof.

**Dooood, I forgot about this!**

Leslia

Hearing the commotion, I ran from my room.

The first thing I saw was a wizard. His magic was so strong I could feel it in the air. He wore the colors of a Galian fighter, and I was pretty sure I had heard of him somewhere before.

I saw another man watching the wizard closely, obviously preparing to attack. The wizard was more concerned with another person, someone who was hiding from him from the looks of it.

Hoping to be some help, I stepped into view, twisting my staff around so it was pointing at the wizard. Grinning, I sent a strong bolt of magic at him.

**Yeah, lets all gang up on the wizard! :P

Caius

The ride to the town took less time than expected. We arrived just before sundown.

Hawthorn didn't want to attack until dawn, but it was surprisingly easy to convince him otherwise. Now I was riding on my horse again, on the path leading straight into the city. A small group of soldiers were approaching from the side and were going to emerge from the woods at the west, drawing most attention that way while the main army was to attack from the front. It wasn't the best plan, but I wasn't one to complain.

I was stopped at the gate by a rough-looking soldier. I wore a dark cloak over my Galian garments, with the hood pulled low over my face. My hands clutched the reins loosely, the white cloth around my finger tugging lightly on the skin.

"State your name and business here in Bailor, Sir," the guard said, trying to get a good look at my face. "And remove your hood."

I did as asked and lowered the black cloth from my head, not looking at the man as I spoke. "My name is Artemis Grey. I'm here only as a traveler and wish to find food and lodging for the night."

"Oh? So where is it you come from, Sir Grey?" the mocking tone in his voice was hard to miss.

"Originally, I hail from Eltar, though I have seen many lands in my time. I come to Bailor now from the far kingdom of Bergar, where the hill dwarves reside in peace with the other lands."

"I know about Bergar. Show me proof that you come from that way, or I'll have to ask you to leave."

I frowned. "I see no reason why you should have to? Are then these rumors I've been hearing true? Is war on the wind, blowing in this direction?"

"Unfortunately, yes. We've had a few tips that the Galians may be headed our way soon. Very soon. And you say you come from Bergar?"

I nodded. "That I did."

"Isn't Bergar to the South?" he asked, turning to point into the town, past it, and in the exact opposite direction I had come from. I grit my teeth. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Turning was his mistake. I bent over in my saddle and touched his head lightly with one finger, whispering a word and watching him crumple to the ground. With a sigh of irritation, I dismounted and dragged him into the shadows of the wall before trotting back to my horse and taking her by the reins, leading her into the town on foot.

I left the horse at a stable near the gate and wandered around for a little, ignoring the suspicious and distrusting glances that were cast in my direction. I was just picking up some kind of strange fruit from a merchant's stall when there were shouts to my right.

"It's them! The Galians are here! To arms! Quickly! The west gate is being attacked!"

Acting as if I were in a rush, I dropped the fruit and ran in the direction the group would be attacking from, passing men who were running for swords and armor and women who peered fearfully from their windows. I made it to the west gate quickly (Bailor was such a small town) and skid to a stop and waited for the first soldier to make it though the barricade that had been set up. It only took a matter of seconds.

I threw off my cloak and reached out, touching the closest building and watching in satisfaction as it burst into flames. With a quick glance to the metal sign hanging above the door, I satisfied myself with the knowledge that it had been the armory.

More of the soldiers had managed to push their way into the town. Some had run off in the other direction, heading deeper into the town, while about a dozen spotted me a distance off and had come running. The citizens tried pitifully to fend them off.

Without a word, I nodded to another building at the end of the street and followed the soldiers as they charged the Inn, mouthes open and grinning like a pack of hungry wolves finally come across a satisfying meal.

I blasted down the door and they raced inside, eager and thirsting for blood. I followed more slowly, examining the occupants of the Inn with a critical eye as the soldiers cut down anyone who got in their way. The woman was there, the one who had escaped me once before, long ago. She was standing next to a man who had drawn a sword and was staring at me with Death in his eyes. The woman caught sight of me and disappeared into the madness.

My attention was torn from searching for the woman by the crackle of magic in the air and a stinging in my shoulder. With a grimace of undisguised irritation and pain, I turned to find an elven woman standing on the stairs, holding a staff in her hands and grinning down at me with a look of triumph on her face.

I bowed, much to her puzzlement. Then, straightening, I cast my thoughts to her mind, which she had left unguarded.

Care to dance? I asked, cracking a whip of fire in one hand and holding a glowing ball of dark energy in the other.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
