Caius
I gathered together everything I would need, which wasn't much, I admit. I owned very little in the first place, so what I took was only the bare essentials. Hawthorn stayed outside my door the whole time, stationed there like a guard. Before I exited, I changed the cloth on my finger to a very light green and pulled the red one out of my hair as well.
"Well then," I commented, brushing past the man outside. The door closed with a bang as I started off down the hallway. Hawthorn hesitated before trotting to catch up.
"Do you need to make another stop?" he asked, now walking hurriedly at my side. The man was easily three inches shorter than I was. I stopped and turned to him.
"Sir Ramsey Hawthorn, do you trust me or do you not?"
He frowned, puzzled. His answer was slow both in coming and in spoken words. "...Well, yes, I suppose so. You're the King's ad-"
"Good! Then I'm sure you'll find no trouble in knowing that I," I pointed at his chest, "do not fully trust you!" here I pointed at myself. His frown deepened. "But, if you would be willing to bear with me on this one certain subject..." I began walking down the hallway again, not bothering to find out if he was following anymore.
"Uh, sir?"
I turned again. "What?"
"We need to be going the other way."
I shrugged and started walking in the direction he had indicated. He once again fell into step beside me.
"So, when do we attack?" I asked, losing my train of thought completely from before.
"Balior is half a days march from here. We should be on the outskirts by midnight tonight if we start our march within the next two hours. It's what...nearly noon now?"
I glanced out a nearby window, squinted, raised one eyebrow and nodded.
"I'll wait for the troops to assemble before giving a brief speech. After that, we'll march."
I nodded.
