Caius-

I picked at the cloth tied tightly around my finger. The monotonous sound of the King's voice sounded some unidentifiable distance to my right, though I had learned, after years in his service, to block it out. My name, change of tone, or exaggerated movement was my trigger to start paying attention again, and none came up very often.

I thought solemnly of my past, or at least what of it I hadn't buried away with the pain that it had brought. It was while I was watching the flashes of images that I felt the sharp jab in my upper side. I jumped and turned to see the King regarding my angrily.

"Right, Caius?"

"Er...right, sir."

"There, you have it..." the King turned to continue talking to the armor-covered man standing a respectful distance away. I cast him an annoyed sideways glance, continuing to twist and pull at the deep blue fabric tied perhaps too tightly around my left middle finger.

"Caius," the King said after a moment, turning to me again. "You're a war wizard, no?"

"Um...yes."

"Placement in the ranks?"

"Of the fourth level, sir."

His eyebrows shot up slightly. "You could have told me that earlier."

I bit back the sarcastic comment, and replied with, "I thought you had known, sir."

He waved a hand dismissively. "Well, Caius, I want you to accompany Sir...er, what did you say your name was?"

"Ramsey Hawthorn, sir."

"Caius, I want you to accompany Sir Ramsey here to Balior. You're to lead the attack there. Follow any and all orders the commander there assigns you."

"But, sir, an attack on Balior would mean a full-"

"I know what it means, Caius. And I know what I just told you. What I'm wondering now is why the hell you're still standing here."

I growled softly, so he wouldn't hear, and followed Sir What's-his-face out of the room. He stopped in the hallway and turned to me, casting his eyes down and fiddling with the hilt of his sword.

"Do...Do you need to collect anything before we go?"

"Yes," I replied sharply and moved past him towards my rooms. He followed behind, unaware that I had switched the cloth on the finger from a calming blue to a bright, bold red. The same color tied a few stands of hair together.

Selen:

Selen slowly walked towards the small town. Balior was the name, least that is what she thought. She stayed in her fairy form keeping as hidden as possible as she flew towards the town. It was just going to be another town and another stop. She knew she would have to get going soon, she always did. She didn't know why either.

She had heard rumor of a war or something like that, but she never paid much attention to it. She yawned and stopped on top of a tree branch. She looked around. She would watch the town and then go in and walk it, but she had to watch first.

It can't hurt, can it? To accompany this man for a period of time? I decided no harm could come of it.

"Sure, I'll be glad for the company," I agreed, even though in all truth it made no difference to me. I wasn't the most talkative of people.

I had been watching Allen for a while, and determined he wasn't too much of a threat, so long as I did nothing to anger him. Although he seemed like the type of man who would be in a much higher position, not traveling alone.

"Why, if I may ask, are you heading for Balior?

Hey, I know you said you wouldn't accept more after Monday, but please, please, could I join?? Send me a PM for or against.

Name: Jenie

Age: 25

Race: Fairy

Appearance: She's generally a beautiful in all aspects, but she tries in always possible to hide it. She hates it when men are only looking at her, and not listening to her. She's a blonde, but she always keeps it tied back. Her wings are also golden, and she finds it difficult to hide how nice they are, but she has found a spell that dulls them, almost turning them brown, and keeps them looking normal.

Country: All over, she's constantly trying to gain influence in each. she has no real homeland.

Personality: she has learned to be as approachable as possible through necessity. However she has strong opinions but also knows how to hide them. she has no patience with those she considers idiots, and tends to only put up with them if she has to, otherwise she scorns them. she loves a good conversation though, someone she can talk intelligently with is her best friend, and she'll go out of her way to be nice to them.

History; Her parents were some of the main influences that lead to the destruction of the fairy government. She agrees with their actions as she considers that the government was corrupt and unorthodox. However, she loves democracy and politics, and is always trying to gain favour with the various governmnts, trying to create aliances for the fairies to make it easier for them to live among the other races. She is considered almost an ambassador for her race, but is disliked by those that liked the old government and monarchy. She knows this and is trying to create alliances within her race as well. This makes her various negotiations difficult as it is difficult to make everyone happy, or for anyone to believe her.

Weapons/Magic: She has good profficiency in magic, but she resists from using it except for necessity, like the disguising of herself. She tries to never use it in her negotiations as she doesn't want to create mistrust, and indeed few of those who deal with her know she is profficient. In weopons she has daggers on her person as well as a bow that she tends to keep hidden. She prefers the bow when she can use it.
It is an established fact that, despite everything society can do, girls of seven are magnetically attracted to the colour pink.

Kabeth:

Kabeth dropped the hood back on his cloak, making it clear to the watchmen that he had no interest in hiding his identity. The people of Balior were jumpy enough as it was with the war looming, and he didn't want their paranoia being directed at him. He nodded to the watchman as he entered the village, earning a casual salute in return. He was somewhat known in most of the towns - while few knew him well, most recognised him as a frequent traveller. He made to pass, then the guard cleared his throat, "Is it true?"

Kabeth frowned a little, "Is what true?"

"I thought if anyone would know, it'd be you. Is Galian really getting ready to declare war on us?"

He shrugged, "So I've heard. It's mostly rumours, I think. But then, all rumours have to start somewhere."

The watchman gave a slow nod, the sunlight glinting off his helmet, "Aye, that they do. You haven't been in Galian recently, then?"

He shook his head, "Not since before the rumours started. I'll not risk my neck in going to that place. Although the roads are probably just as dangerous if the stories are true."

Nyes-

Galian was about to go to war. As I looked into my crystal, I could see soldiers in full battle wear camped out on the southern side of Galian. I'd known about the epidemic going through that country for a while, so I wasn't exactly surprised about the war. Humans liked blaming other people for their troubles, so as soon as they find someone to blame, what would be a better way to take revenge then to go to war with them.

I fluttered to the ground to get a drink of water from the pool. The cool water refreshed me and I decided to look through the crystal again. I was sort-of expecting a visitor this day so I explored the forest around my currant home. I saw a elf in the crystal but I didn't think it would be him. Maybe I wouldn't get a visitor. I went up to the hollow in the tree to take a nap.

Selen:

Selen saw a few men walk into the town. She jumped out of the tree and stood behind it growing to her full height of five foot three. She pulled the cape tightly around her her hood hiding her white hair. She walked towards the town not knowing what would happen when she walked in. She hoped if the gaurd would reconize her as a girl he would just let her pass, but she wasn't sure if he would if he knew she was a fairy or anything other then human. She took a deep breath. Maybe it would just be better to fly in. Or she could try and find a way to die her hair. She shook her head, none of that would work. She just made her way towards the down keeping her eyes to the ground, hood over her head hoping to just make it past the guard without a problem.

Her hopes where smashed when she just about ran into him because he stepped in front of her.

"What's your business here?" He demanded trying to see under her hood.

"Just traveling." She muttered softly.

Kabeth

"Just travelling?" the guard mimicked, before leaning a little closer to her, "Where to? Galian? Or here because they sent you?"

Kabeth put his hand on the man's shoulder, drawing him away from her, "Lay off her. She's not one of them - why would they be here?"

"But you just said-"

"I said that it wouldn't be as safe on the roads anymore, but Galian wouldn't bother with spies. They know you're here, and when they attack it'll be all or nothing." He turned to her with a smile, "Sorry, miss. You can pass, if you want."

The guard glared at him, growling, "You know you're not allowed to do that, you're not even from here, traveller! And it undermines my authority!"

Kabeth raised one eyebrow in answer, "Nonetheless, you're being far too cautious here. Whether or not Galian's about to attack, you should show a little more courtesy to travellers." He left the man standing there, muttering to himself, and followed the girl through the gates, leaning forward a little to bring himself to her height, "You know, you shouldn't try to hide yourself from these people. They're scared, and it makes them jump to conclusions when you do that."

Selen:

Selen looked at the man and crossed her arms. "And not hiding myself might make it worse." She said firmly. "Thank you for your help. I'm not here to spy or cause any trouble." She turned on her heel and started leaving. He caught up and stopped her.

"Why would showing who you are cause more trouble?" He asked, it was demanding, least not obviously demanding.

"Humans are a strange race that tend to either lock up my kind and sell them or shy away and try to kill us." She spun on her heel and picked up her pace. She had said to much. She knew that at times what she had said was not true. But she had run into enough humans that were out to catch her because she was a fairy or to kill her to make her believe they were all like that.

Azrayel-

Ray shouldered his pack and stepped off onto the dock. Merchants and sailors ran around, loading and unloading cargo, ships were preparing to castoff or were being checked for repairs. He caught sight of some of the other scouts dissapearing into the crowd.

Shrugging Ray set off in a different direction, muttering under his breath. "First things first, find an inn, and a tavern."

Kabeth:

With an inward groan, he jogged after her again, "Not all humans are like that. I mean, a lot of them are a bit backward, but we're a pretty young race compared to the rest of you. A lot of that kind of human are just intimidated, they need to show that they're your equals."

She clearly had no intention of stopping, drawing her cloak more closely about her and picking up her pace a little more, "They've got a funny way of showing it."

He shrugged, "True, but like I said, they're not all like that. You've gotta look for the ones who're more accepting of you and your kind."

She rolled her eyes, "Oh, let me guess: like you?"

"I was brought up among elves, so yeah, like me." He stopped, taking a single step away from her and raising his hands a little, "But if you don't want me around, that's fine. I'd be happy to help you out, if you wanted to find someone who could hide your...erm, inhuman qualities, but otherwise..." he trailed off, half-turning as he made to leave.

~Yakov

Yakov and Wilheart arrived shortly before midday. It was hard getting Wilheart in without anyone noticing, but they did it, some how. "Where to we go from here?"

"I was told the Yurim were sending lookers too. See if you can find one. I'll be at the Green Gate Inn. I stayed there once before."

Yakov nodded. He tightened his belt and continued on his way towards the docks. As he was walking what looked like a wilder elf walked past him, but something seemed different. Half elf? Yakov followed him for about a block before he entered an ally. Knowing he had nothing to fear he followed and they stood face to face,

"Why are you following me?"

"Are you an elf sent by Yurim?"

"Why should i tell you?"

"I've been sent by Eltar. My lord would like to speak with someone who has come from Yurim."

"Who is this lord?"

"Lord Wilheart of the Seven Stars."

"I see, sorry to misjudge you. I am Azrayel, but you may call me Ray."

"I'm Yokav. If you'll follow me, we may see what we can discover."

~Allen

Allen thought a moment, "Business. It's a good port city and I'm looking to join a crew." He looked at her and her eyes were intense. "You don't believe me do you?"

"No, not in the least." She sped up slightly.

This isn't going to be easy. "Information then, I'll leave it at that."

"Not very detailed, care to explain?"

"No I wouldn't." Her faced showed anger. "In return I wont ask you. In time we may learn to trust on another, but I can't see us traveling together for long. For now, we'll leave it at that." When Allen looked forward again he saw Balior in the distance.

Proth Samuel was at the bar that night, to celebrate his entry into the King's Elite Battalion.

"So, Proth, who's the commander of the battalion?" one of his friends asked. It was Jol, a very impulsive and outgoing friend of Proth's.

"Ramsey Hawthorn," Proth replied. Jol wasn't in the army like Proth and most of his other friends, so he didn't know much about military business. "He's very respectable." Proth said.

"He's not a commander to mess around with." Said Kilt, another one of Proth's army friends.
Kilt envied Proth. Although Kilt was two years older than Proth, he didn't not have as great of a combat propensity as Proth had, and therefore didn't keep up with Proth's rapid advancement.

"Hey, Proth," Jol called out. "Looks like another one of your army guys is here."

It was Proth's lieutinent.

"Samuel, you're needed in the castle." the lieutenant said, "Commander Hawthorn is gathering the battalion."

Could this be a call for action? So soon? Proth wondered. I had no idea we would attack this early. He had certainly heard rumors, but the summon still came as bit of a surprise.
