This too will be edited, once I find the appropriate stories.
It has to be posted in 2007 right? Are you sure a story posted on January 7th at 5:49 won't count?

EDIT: FINE! Hallucinogenic will have to wait till next year. *sulks*

I haven't done alot of reading recently but these authors; I've read their stories in the past and throughly enjoy them. In fact, so much, that I often return and re-read the adventures. Now, if only these people would get their novels published... (*shrinks* Who me?) ... :D

Fantasy Fiction: Writerdomain's amazing "Flames of Lacraesa" topic14517.html

Historic Fiction: Suz's "Death Machine" http://www.geocities.com/scuzie@sbcglob ... tDraft.doc
Very hardcore. It will grip you no matter how much you try and fight it off.

Historic Fiction: Sam's "Hourglass" topic9124.html
One of the quirkiest stories I've read but no doubt it's a very entertaining read. Alternative history is very, very hard to master. My hat goes off to Sam for the attempt.

Science Fiction: Snoink's "FREAK" topic24231.html
You'll have to download the chapters. She's taken down all the previous ones because our Snoinky in in the midst of getting FREAK published. FREAK, without a doubt, will keep you reading. If not, expect Sadie's Father coming after you with a crowbar!

Fantasy Fiction: Duskglimmer's "Laten Heritage (or The Bearer)" topic19712.html
Dusky has also taken down all thirty-five plus chapters, like Snoink. You'll have to download the four chapters from the Advanced Crits Forum. When I first read "The Bearer," I was instantly transported in the deck of the ship. I could smell the salt and feel the char's plights. Instantly, I promise, you'll be thrusted to a new world, and swallow it up, craving for more.

*

Those are the stories that have stuck to me like glue, for two years and less. I, on the other hand, refuse to nominate myself. XD I couldn't be as vain as Hancock. That's his territory.

All in all, everyone deserves a pat on the back. We writers are eccentric, and we've all taken on the insane art known as storytelling. Congrats to all, and best wishes.

Well as honored as I am, I have to point it out to you guys. Death Machine isn't on YWS, and so, technically isn't allowed in this competition. Kind of depressing, eh? Thank you both, anyway. ^_^ It will eventually come up! Maybe after I edit. I don't know.

I'll just do the four main ones, if that's okay with you.

Best Overall
Toss-Up by Sam

It's so funny and quirky. Loved it.

Best Character
Tie:
Babushka by Poor Imp for Babushka
(Although the story itself was okay, it was the characterization that stuck out the most. Such an emotion-packed character.
Untitled by Icaruss for the main character
(Haha. Such a normal guy, and now that we look into his head--wow.)

(Second place: Azila's Farwell for the old man)

Best Dialogue
Snoink's How to Kill A Baby
(The dark subject employed here could not have been so well-done without Snoink's crisp, ironic dialogue.)

Best Scene Description
Snoink's The Wolf Cries for Heaven
(There is no scene here: it's Snoink's poetic beauty in prose that made the scene here fill with immense sentiment and color.)
my world isn't only beautiful
it is so far away
