*Ok Ayumi...Riley was taken back to his "family". Tama just healed Tatu whom is like a summon...so technicaly if Tama dies so does Tatu. Ryouku was fighting the other vampyres along with Tama, Tatu, Mana, and the Protectors. In Amber's last post Rosso caught your scent and Beth is a little confused I guess.. *
I could feel myself regaining strength as I practice magic over and over again. My mind went numb. I didn't allow myself to think, it was too painful. Sometimes I wished that vampires didn't have a long memory. I sighed. I was drifting again, and with that came the pain. I rubbed my temples, refusing to think of Riley. I rushed to the practice arena. No one was in there. That was good. I didn't want anyone around.
I attacked, with everything I had, my mind shutting off and my senses taking over. Magic flew around me, my sword slashing fluidly everything in sight. After several hours, I crashed, the magic wore on my body draining my energy. I crumpled on the floor, in defeat and dispair.

Riley was glad to have escaped his father's presence and found company in his friends. They were sitting at the table that outlined and wrapped around the whole kitchen to give it a bar effect. In many ways the mansion was like a huge party house. Vampyres done need sleep, don't need to eat (besides blood), they don't even need to breathe. What more was there to life if you were a vampyre than a party? Well there was much more if you were Riley's father. Why was he so worried about killing these other creatures? Vampyres had been in control for so long, he doubted anyone bould overthrow the vampyre empyre.
"Riley you will make a great ruler one day." Sean said handing him a glass of blood from behind the bar.
"Ruler?" Riley said taking a sip.
"You were first sired, you will be the one ascending the throne." Sean replied.
"But I thought, after I left.."
"But now you are back!" A few of his buddies and one girl he had never seen before sitting at the bar raised their glasses to that.
"But, I mean, I'm back for now.. I'll help with the mission and all, but then.."
"You're not going to go back are you? To what you were?"
"No! No, no, I would never.. I've forgotten how good fresh blood can taste. I just, I can't stay here forever. And you are more of a leader than me Sean. You should be the one to take the throne."
"Riley," the girl said standing up, "everyone here has been waiting for you. We are all ready to follow you. You can't just abandon us. Your destiny has much in store for you. You will be great."
"And how do you know?"
"Anelle sees the future." Sean responded not taking his eyes off of her.
"It's true." She said smiling coyly and taking a seat next to Riley.
"And when did you become a creature of the night?" He said taking her hand and kissing it.
"Not very long ago, but not very recently. i knew it was coming though." she was beautiful, naturally, but she had a rough and tough exterior. Her dirty blonde hair was past shoulder length and pulled back in a half ponytail, there were small braids scattered in it randomly. She had sharp facial features, and was fairly muscular. She had a small diamond nose ring, black fingernail polish and a leather jacket. The perfect rebound girl.
All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come of it.
I sighed as I rewrapped Tatu's stomach wound. "You are lucky you are what you are..." I told her as I finished it off. Tatu smiled.
"I know. I'm your little cat minion." She said with a lilt in her voice.
"You must feel better." I smiled. Tatu nodded.
"So...moving on. Who are the new members of the Protectors?" She asked.
"That's easy. Beth, Rosso, Mana, Ryouku, Li, You, and Ri-." I said, making sure to cut off the last person's name.
"Really! Yay! So when are you announcing them?" She asked again.
"Tomorrow." I sighed and picked up Jinx who was mewing for food. I set het on the table, that held tunafish. She meowed in appreciation and began to chomp it down. "I'll also tell them about the Protectors." I flopped down on the bed next to Tatu.
I went to speak with Tama. I needed to speak with someone...
I knocked on her door. "Hey, Tama. Can I talk to you?"
She opened her door surprised. "What do you need Beth?"
"Um...do you know what happened to Riley?" I asked nervously as the pain twisted itself in my stomach again. "I mean...is he alive? Is he...okay?" I bit my lip.
She frowned at me and motioned me into her room. I greeted Tatu. "Are you feeling alright?" I asked concerned. I groaned. "I should have been there!" Anger flared in me. "I of all people should have expected this! Afterall, I'm part of their race..." I grimaced. It was horrible. I hated vampires who killed without thought or reason. I sighed. "Are you okay?" I asked again, concerned.
"This kind of love is not a product of reasonings and statics--it just comes-none knows whence-and can't explain itself. And doesn't need to." Mark Twain
Tatu nodded. "Better than I was when it happened." She smiled. I sat down next to her and sighed.
"We caught a vampyre, last night, before it died and asked it where Riley had gone. The vampyre told all of us that he went back to his bloodsucking family. Sorry if what I say offends you, but those damn bloodsucking leeches kidnapped Riley! He's alive and well right now. He is supposively an heir to the King's throne or whatever. We sent in a female vampyre spy to check up on things and that's all we have so far. You might know her. Her name is Anelle. She has been informing us since last night. She told us about him being the heir and about an important mission for him." I smiled and took a deep breath. "That answer your question?"
"So what can you see in the future for you and me?" he asked coyly folding his arms against his chest. She closed her eyes put her hands out, palms up. Riley smiled intrigued.
"Hmm it's not good. Or at least you might not like it."
"Why?" she leaned down and whispered in his ear:
"You're not getting any." he laughed aloud and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Well if I'm not getting that how about a walk?"
"A walk?" She looked skeptical.
"Trust me." he said rising from the stool. He lead her out of the mansion and into the gardens. He soaked in the moonlight and walked with his hands behind his back.
"You know I'm not the type of girl that enjoys the whole romantic moonlight stroll. I mean it is a nice gesture and all but it doesn't work on me. I-"
"Shh!" he said turning around briefly then continuing his walk. He would have to be very careful how he went about this. He closed his eyes and let his feet guide him along the path. Soon they were deep into the garden and there was a weeping willow tree just a few feet off the path. He turned and looked at her slyly. She had her arms folded and an anoyed look on her face. He smiled to himself. To his surprise she followed him off the path and over to the tree.
"This is the spot where I was sired." he put a hand against the tree and rubbed his palm against a piece of bark.
"Really." She didn't sound very interested. He swiftly grabbed her by the waist and pushed her against the tree kissing her neck.
"Hey I already told you you're not gettin any buddy." she tried to push him off of her but to no avail. He lifted his head from her neck and shushed her again. He locked eyes with her and soon she wasn't protesting. He leaned down, their lips getting closer. He pressed his lips to hers for only a second before releasing her. She leaned her head against the tree.
"That wasn't that bad now was it?" She squinted her eyes at him before pulling his head back towards her andkissing him. He was going to have fun with this. He put both of his hands on her waist as she snaked her arms around his neck. Then there was a voice in his head. Another part of the blood pact was telepathic communication between the two people who made the pact. It was Sean.
"Have you gotten rid of the traitor yet?" Riley broke away from the kiss but Anelle didn't hesitate she began kissing his neck. He was rather annoyed.
"No. I have decided to keep her."
"What?! Riley she isn't a toy, she is telling them our plans. Get rid of her and I'll get you a new girl."
"No I want this one. Think about it Sean we can use her to give them false information. Tell father."
"Bossy much. Alright, alright I see your point I'll tell him." and then he was gone. Riley let out a sigh.
"Whats wong?" Anelle asked.
"Nothing." he said then leaned in to kiss her again but was pushed away.
"I wasn't kidding you know."
"Alright. Have it your way." he pretended to be really upset. She took him by the hand and led him back to the mansion. He was going to have a lot of fun with this.

I woke to the sound of birdsong, so different from the traffic noise I heard back home. Sighing, I tried sitting up on my bed, only to find that 'Rah had been too lazy to change shape last night, he was still full size and using me as a pillow.
Rolling my eyes I reached over and pulled one of his tails, like usual he bolted across the room into the corner.
"What was that for Mana?"
"Simple." I snap at him, but I know he can sense my emotions, so he can sense my amusement. "I am not your bed. You won't get the lecture, but only because I know you have it memorized by now."
We probably would have kept fighting but 'Rah's stomach started to growl. Laughing I got out of bed and realized I was still dressed. I shrugged and ran out the door, 'Rah went back to his little form and jumped on my shoulder. The door slammed behind us and the two of us went in search of food.
It was lunch time, meaning the Tengu-Ryo Karate Club was in the middle of practice. Ryouku was counting in Japanese as his students practiced their kata. Ryouku knew the importance of discipline and respect in karate, he also knew that fighting should only be used as a last resort. That's why the first and most important rule in his club was that no member could start a fight on school property. They are allowed to defend themselves if someone else starts the fight, though. He made sure his students knew that if any of them broke this rule just once without just cause, they would be permanently banned from the club.
He continued his count, starting from one and finishing at eight each time. His mind was somewhere else. He couldn't stop thinking about the fight last night against the vampyres, what it was like to fight in a real-life situation. Ryouku had found the experience 'stimulating,' but immediately cursed himself for doing so. One should not enjoy hurting another, even if that person is doing something bad, and Ryouku had kicked a vampyre through a wall.
Ryouku shook the thought away and tried to concentrate on teaching his class. The less he thought about it the better.
(I've always wondered, what's the difference between a vampire and a vampyre. Are they two different types of vampires or is 'vampyre' just a fancy way of spelling the word?)
