Kitlea finally pulled up to the ROTC camp after hours and hours of driving. She was only fifteen and was already driving, illegally. She parked the car, grabbed her bags, and slowly walked to the front gates. Kit was extremely late but she didn't care. She already knew what was going to happen. Do some exercise, get yelled at, do more exercise, and then get yelled at more. This week would be no different than her days at bootcamp last year. She banged on the gate and it swung open. 'Some security this place has.' She thought to herself. She took out a small map of the camp out of her pocket.

After searching the map for the girls barracks in the darkness she finally found it. Kitlea followed the directions straight to a small cabin like structure. She walked in and studied it. With a little disgust she threw her bags on the ground and plopped herself down on a hard bed, falling asleep.

No one will come back on; I can't post until Sasquach does...I think it's long gone...

Oh, oops! Okay. Let me see...

Adri

I watched as Chaney took a few laps around the field. I looked at my watch. We still had ten minutes left...at this rate, this girl could probably finish a two-mile run by the time the others got out!

"Hey, Chaney, right?" I called, jogging up beside her.

"Yeah," she kept running. I stayed in step with her.

"You're used to running. You're time's pretty good so far."

"Um...thanks, I guess."

"What do you say about being the squad leader?"

*Just trying to keep it alive. I'm about to start giving ranks, so heads up, guys!*

Chaney slowed down considerably and pulled over to the team bench infront of the bleachers. She paced a little and put her hands on her hips--it's important not to stop running suddenly, cool down is necessary.

Adri pulled over with her but did not pace, just waiting for her answer.

Chaney looked in the direction of the cafeteria, not really sure how to answer that question. She really didn't want to be a leader--she really didn't want people all up in her business, that was the whole point of leaving home. But at the same time she was happy to be offered the position and didn't want to seem rude by turning it down, and would rather be under the control of herself than someone else.

So, instead, she eluded the question. "Are we going to be playing soccer at all? Or...can we? Or is there a team or something?" She nodded towards the soccer/football field incased by the track.

Adri

A question was my answer. Neat.

"Well, yeah, you will have those chances in the evenings. Sign ups are tonight," I answered her plainly. "But what I mean is, do you want to lead the squad? Those other people you were in formation with?"

Chaney only really had one question, and if she liked the answer she would take the position. If not, she would turn it down.

"Do I have to yell at them?"

Chaney was not here to yell or to share intimate details of her life with her new "friends". She had lost two thirds of what made her Chaney this year, and she was not about to invite new parts in just so they can be lost as well. Nor does she wish for everyone to know her tragedy and fill her life with sorrow--she had heard enough I'm sorrys.

Hey guys, sorry if I'm intruding on you're little storybook, but I was wondering if I could still join this storybook, looks like some fun. It especially looks like y'all could use someone with some military experience as well.

If so, here's a preliminary character sheet for your perusal:

Name: Yaakov (Kobi) Shimoni
Age: 16.5
Appearance: Tall, athletic build (approx. 1.89 meters) with closely cropped dark hair, tan skin and a small, tightly cropped goatee
Reason for coming: for fun and he wanted to shoot guns
Goal(s) in life: to go back to Israel, and get into the unit his cousin is in (Sayeret Nahal 50-elite infantry warriors)
Bio: Last summer, his family moved from Kibbutz Eilot, just outside of Eilat, Israel when his father got a position at the Israeli counsulate in the city in which they live. Before going to the States (his english was perfect because he studied a lot of English in school) he went to Gadna, the Israeli ROTC camp program with his school. Wanting to keep fit and relatively military mindset, he joined the ROTC program at his school, and they offered for him to go to this camp over the summer for him.
Other: Fast freinds with fellow Israeli, Katz.

If anything needs changing, or if you don't have room for me, let me know.

Edit: I just read through the whole thread and it appears as if people are just kind of randomly joining, so I guess I throw my hat into the ring. My intro post will follow.

Kobi got out of the cab as the sun was setting behind him. The cab driver had been late picking him, and gotten stuck in traffic, making him extremely late on his first day of the camp. He was going to get reamed, he thought.

He walked up to the gate, and went up to the security officer standing "guard".
"Sir, Yaakov Shimoni, reporting, sir" he said, in his best military polish-sounding voice.
"Why are you late, Shimoni?" he demanded.
"Cab was late, sir" he replied. After a minute of sizing him up, the officer opened the gate, letting him in.
"Well, you missed first formation and mess is almost over," the officer told him, handing him his assignment and a map. "Here, kid, take this" he said, handing him an MRE. Eat this, and head over to mess, asap, and report to your AI. You're assigned to Delta Company"
"Yes sir!" Kobi replied, saluting, and gratefully taking the MRE, tearing into it, as he jogged over to the mess, his duffel over his shoulder.

Kitlea sat up and looked at her watch. Almost time. She thought as she stood up from the cot and stretched. She walked out the door and towards the mess hall, yawning and shaking her short, dirty blond hair out. Kitlea jogged across the red dirt and into the mess hall. She could feel eyes staring at her in suspition. She didn't care, she was used to this. Kitlea sat down at the nearest table and pulled a Hershey's bar out of her pocket. As she took a bite a tan guy with closely cropped hair walked in with a duffle bag over his shoulder. All these kids here look like goody-two-shoes she thought with a scowl.

Hey, thanks for joining, sabradan! I'm only a student in a high school program, and I probably could use a little help!

Adri

"No, you don't have to yell. That's my job," I responded, laughing in the end. Like I would ever yell without reason!

I turn to see several more people run into the mess hall. I sighed; great. I'd have to let them have a few more minutes to eat...

I walked into the mess hall and stood at the head of my platoon's table. "All right, people, I'm going to be nice and let these others have time to eat. You have an extra ten minutes, but no more. Then we form up. Understood?"

Oh, god, I hope I didn't sound like my retarded sargeant...

I smiled, trying to lighten the mood. "And congratulations to all of you. Just bothering to come here got you a promotion in rank!"
