Sano looked about the carnage below him. From the roof of the apartment he could see the desroyed buildings still burning. He decided to go back inside when Geomana ran into him. Kresko behind her.
Geomana enjoyed the rush of air that blew past her face, and the way the world moved beneath her. She knew Kresko and probably SAno would be following her, but she didn't care. She just ran. She streched her muscles and dodged around broken bottles and such.
She ran until she had almost ran head first into Sano. He was standing in human form arms folded, face cross. Gemoana sighed and changed back into her human form. He extended a hand to help her up and she grudgingly accepted it. "You cheeted," she said.
"So did you."
"How did I cheat?"
"Changing."
Geomana sighed as they started to walk back towards town, where Kresko was waiting, surprisingly with Reiko and the laughing Rei.
I had to be perfectly still and quiet. Any false move would betray my presence, and I knew it would probably lead to a fight.
Dragons had never been well liked, but I didn't know why. Yet, there they were: two wolves socializing with a dragon. Was I dreaming? Was I seeing things? No, that dragon was definately there...
I froze, steadying my breath until I couldn't even hear it, as the trio passed under me.
Rei followed after the rest of them, bringing up the rear. She laughed with them and talked with them as they made their way back towards Geomana and Kersko's house. Sano walked alongside Geomana, his arm around her waist. Rei smiled; she was happy for them.
Rei raised her head and sniffed the air, looking for the smell of cooking bread that usually lingered around this part of town, no matter the time of day. But the smell that enteredher nose was DEFINATLY not the smell of bread. Rei hissed.
"Hey," she whispered to the others. The warning in her voice instantly got their attention. "Smell that?"
The others sniffed the air and their eyes widened.
"That's not my brother," Sano said. "Its someone else..."
Rei raised her eyes...
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
Geomana looked over to where the smell was coming from. She started walking that way/ Sano trailing behind. "Hello?" she said when she got close enough to see the woman's shilloette. "Who are you?"
Reiko was slightly miffed that he couldn't smell anything, but that was okay. At least it wasn't some freaky herskon dude that wanted to kill them. There'd been a lot.
Then Geomana started talking civily to the stranger, wich really got him miffed. She was way too trusting. Didn't she learn anything with his little kidnaping scheme?
*All I's got.......Srry.*
Give me time, i'll crit your work XD I promise.
GO HORACE! I have some IA on Venus, but I don't know how long it'll last. my com's getting crushed. "Show me a sane man and I will cure him for you."~Carl Jung, psychologist and psychiatrist.
"I'm not following you. You simply found me," I responded coolly.
There was no point in hiding any longer. I jumped from my perch and landed softly before them, careful to make sure I didn't make any movements that would appear threatening. We don't need a fight. I would surely kill them once I transformed.
"Then why were you hiding?" Geomana asked, "we wouldn't hurt you unless you tried to hurt us first." Geomana took in the girls stance, she was standing defensivly, she did not want to fight. That eased the only reserves Geomana held.
"Why were you there to begin with?" Sano snapped.
Kerana glared at him, "I can be up there if I wish can't I?"
"Don't mind Sano dear, he's a tad over protective."
"And i have every right to be." Geomana silenced him by putting a finger over his mouth, and then turning and kissing him.
"Would you like to join us for a walk? They won't let me run but they'll either let me walk or they'll have to carry me all the way back."
"Even though that wouldn't be too hard," Kresko said, and Geomana glared at him.
I was shocked. Completely. This wolf was asking for my company!
Did they even know what I was? What I could become? What I could do?
Nonetheless, it was only polite to accept her offer, even if it made me nervous. I nodded, taking cautious steps forward. I couldn't help but notice how tense the two males were...of course, they would object!
"So, why were you hiding?" The female asked me again, falling in step beside me.
"I was afraid you would attack, considering what I am," I admitted, blushing. "I don't want to fight, for I may hurt you...seriously."
"Absolutely not!" I couldn't help but gasp, which made me even more annoyed. I had lost my composure, my control...increasing the chance of me transforming.
I felt my jewel pulse against my skin.
No! Maintain control! Stay calm. Calm... I closed my eyes as I tried to focus, to concentrate. I breathed slowly, deeply...it was working.
"The trouble with Borrowing another mind was, you always felt out of place when you got back to your own body, and Granny was the first person ever to read the mind of a building. Now she was feeling big and gritty and full of passages.
'Are you all right?'
Granny nodded, and opened her windows. She extended her east and west wings and tried to concentrate on the tiny cup held in her pillars." — Terry Pratchett, Discworld: Equal Rites
