OK, here's what you guys are going to do. Go to the village and start your quest. No monsters, no talking, no inturruptions at all. You need to start the quest as soon as you can so we can get this story moving again.

Raven

After the fight, we spared a few moments to recuperate and ate a hurried meal before setting off again through the trees. The plants began to grow sparse as the evening sun set and we reached the vilage an hour or two before night-fall. The streets were dark and an air of fear and trouble hung in the air, thick as cobwebs, as we searched for an inn.

"Let's try this one," Ilum Ro suggested, raising a fist to knock on the door of 'The Golden Boar.'

"He-hello?" A shaky voice called as a small, wooden peep hole was slid open.

"Hello there my good sir, may we trouble you for some rooms for the night?" Warren asked gallantly.

"We?" The man's eyes swivelled, taking in the rest of our small group before the door swung open. "Ye-yes. I have a... a room or two spare." We were ushered inside and when the door was closed firmly behind us, the man visibly straightened and bade us to follow him upstairs without the slightest hint of a stutter.

"You should look for lodgings before it gets so late," The man encouraged, "It's awful dangerous around here and not for just the young ones."

((Wow, I've missed a lot...Sorry I've been gone... Grounded...))

Karana

I let the others pass me as I studied the room. Something's wrong... I could feel it. I knew it!

"Karana!" one of the others called my name, bringing me back to the present. "You coming?"

I hurried after them, habitually reaching for a dagger concealed in my belt. I stepped up beside Ilum Ro, who was walking behind the rest.

"Ilum, I..." I swallowed. How would I say this? No one had ever helped me like that before. "Thanks...for earlier. I owe you my life."

Am I going to have to say something every week just to get you guys to keep this going? If that's the case, I'd be better off making my own character.

Name: Lucas Arakor
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Race/Species: Human
Class: Rogue
Appearance: Black hair, silver eyes, dangerous looking, wears a black hooded cloak
Weapon(s): Short sword, throwing knives
Personality: Dark and mysterious, doesn't like it when others get in his way, seems cold at times but will protect his companions with his life
History: Lucas was thrown out of Arcadia's city guard when he accidentally killed one of his fellow soldiers during an enemy raid. There had been so much chaos that he couldn't tell which side the man was one. For five years he drifted through the kingdom, living in the wild or staying at an inn whenever he found one. Even though he was thrown out of the city guard, he still felt the need to protect the kingdom anyway he could.

And since you guys have about two spells each I think it's fair that I get at least one, and I choose Lightning.

Lucas is sitting in the inn's tavern in case anyone walks by and notices him.

(Yay! You're with us!)

Karana

We continued down the hall to two rooms. It occured to me that none of the spaces - here or anywhere else in the hotel - was occupied.

This doesn't feel right... I looked around. Where is everyone?

The skittish man opened the door to the rooms. Raven and I entered the first, and the men were just next door. A door connected the two rooms, giving us instant access to each other.

Yeah, sorry about the inactivity lately but it will be so much fun if you have a character too...

Raven

"Sleep well," the man drawled as he closed the door to our room. We waited for his footsteps to recede and then pushed open the door between the two rooms.

"Some thing's going on," Ilum noted.

"Yeah, did you see those other rooms? They were all empty. Either the tourists have been scared off my all these dark tales or they know something we don't," Karana agreed. I nodded in agreement and took a seat on one of the beds.

"Think we should all spend the night in here?" Warren suggested.

"No," I responded. "We've been travelling the whole day and a night on the floor wont do anyone any good."

Warren pushed out of his seat and headed for the door. Raven stopped him. "Where are you going?"

"I'm just going to the tavern for a drink. I won't be too long." He left the room and headed for the tavern.

He sat down on one of the bar stools and ordered a pint of beer. He was surprised to see the bar was still open at this time of night. Warren to the beer and began to drink.

"You should leave these lands while you still have the chance."

Warren turned in his chair to see where the voice had come from. In the corner of the room he saw a man in a black cloak with his feet resting on the table. He held a pipe in his left hand and twirled a knife in the other. Warren couldn't see his face under the spill of his hood.

"Excuse me?" Warren asked.

The man breathed in from his pipe and let blew a soft stream of smoke from his mouth. "These lands have become dangerous since the Dark Knight showed up. This is no place for children. If you're smart, you'll forget about whatever mission you're on and go home."

"Me and my friends are on a mission. We're not going anywhere until we complete it."

The man chuckled. "The youthful sure have spunk. What's your name, kid?"

"Warren," he said. "What's yours?"

"You can call me Luke."

Raven

An hour passed and I began to worry. I mean sure, an hour at a tavern was nothing but there was something about this place that was worrying me.

"Will you just relax? You're making me nervous!" Karana exclaimed, watching me pace the room. Back and forth I walked, across the creaking floorboards, my head filled with dark thoughts.

"We shouldn't have let him go alone," I declared, forcing myself to stop before her bed.

"He'll be fine," Karana insisted. Ilum entered the room.

"I'm going to find Warren," he announced.

Karana

I sighed, throwing my hands in the air in defeat.

"What's with everyone?!" I asked, louder than I had intended. "You're growing anxious just because one of our companions has spent an hour in the bar!"

"Exactly. It's doesn't take an hour to finish a beer!" Ilum exclaimed, silencing me as he swept from the room. Raven looked at me and shrugged, following him.

Wonderful...I exhaled slowly.

(And just to make things a little more interesting...)

--- Warren's fighting abilities have diminished from drinking. He cannot use any magic spells until morning. ---

Raven found Warren sitting in front of the bar drinking his second pint. "What's taking you so long, Warren? It doesn't take this long to have a drink!"

Warren looked at her for a moment. "Sorry, I lost track of the time. I was talking to that guy." He pointed to an empty table at the other side of the room. A lit pipe sat in an ashtray, but there was no sign of the person who had been smoking it. "Hey, where'd he go?"

"Warren, I think you've had enough. If you're starting to see things it's because you're drunk."

"No, I'm serious! I was talking to a guy named Luke. He said he used to work for the king as one of his royal guards."

Raven sighed. She didn't have the energy to deal with the ramblings of a drunk man. She grabbed Warren by the arm and tugged him off the bar stool. "Come on, we need to get to sleep. We'll be waking up early tomorrow."

Warren looked back at the empty table as Raven pulled him out of the tavern and wondered if he really had seen that man or not.

"You found him then?" Karana asked smugly as I exited the tavern with Warren in tow.

"Yeah and good thing I did, he's rather drunk," I replied, wrinkling my nose at the smell. This seemed to offend Warren -

"I'm not drunk!" he claimed again. "I was talking to Luke and..."

"Who's Luke?" Ilum asked warily.

"He used to work for the king and..."

"Why don't we discuss this tomorrow?" I suggested, looking around the dimly lit street.

"Or at least back at the inn," Ilum agreed. He took Warren's other arm and looped it across his shoulder as Karana led the way back along the path.

Random encounter, prepare to fight!

Husks x3

In case you've forgotten, husks are those ancient robots the Dark Knight found and reactivated. Lightning magic works best against them and since Warren is drunk and can't use his magic until morning that means Karana is the only one who can damage them. Weapons have no effect on them. Enjoy ;)

"Did you hear that?" Ilum faltered, causing Warren and myself to stumble as his head swivelled back and forth.

"There it is again," Karana hissed and sure enough there was the faint scrape of metal to be heard.

"Husks!" Warren exclaimed as three of the ancient robots shuddered into view.

"Just our luck," I mumbled, "but at least we know how to deal with them."

"We do?" Warren asked absently.

"Yes, attack them with lightening! You too, Karana! Quick before they get any closer, our weapons will have no effect!" Ilum commanded.
