School of Crazy and Weird People

"Oh. Kayla. I am not just a vampire...I can change into animals." She said as she turned into a cheetah and then back to normal. Then she though: oh...great! I only told codie I was taking two people! Now I am going to bring a posse of people without permission. Arina put her tongue against one of her fangs. When she looked at Kayla, she noticed she was writing in her notebook again.

I studied Kayla's facial feature carefully as they discussed basketball. I stood there, apparently unseen. I was used to not being noticed, so i stood there waiting for someone to recognize me in this conversation.
'Maybe someone will actually notice that I'm a vampire too, I mean at this time of day Arina and I are are both shimmering in the sunlight as our eyes glow. Someone's bound to notice sooner than later...' I thought, ticked off that, still, no one noticed me.

Kayla turned to the person who had come with Arina.

"And what about you? What's your story?" she asked, looking the person up and down.

"I'm Asuna, and I'm a vampire too."

"No kidding. Cool. Any more vampires I should know about?" she asked, fingers itching to pull out her notepad once again.

"Well, I'm pretty sure there are more vampires in the school. It'd be kinda weird if Arina and I were the only ones, don't you think?"

Kayla though for a moment, hitching up her backpack as they walked.

"Good point. Why were you so quiet before? Check that." she said, turning to Arina. "Why didn't you introduce us?"

Arina held up her hands.

"I didn't know she followed me to you. I though she went off to her own thing." she said defensively.

Kayla raised an eyebrow, but turned back to look ahead, shrugging.

"No problem. We all know each other now, so that's good.

"Oh. Kayla. I am not just a vampire...I can change into animals." Arina said, changing into a cheetah.

Kayla immediatly scrambled for her notebook and pencil, eyes wide.

"Whoa! That's- wow. Hang on a second." she said, frantically taking down notes. Then she looked up at Asuna. "Can you do that?" she asked, still in awe.

"Well, I can't do that, but I can see the future and I'm part witch, so I can cast spells and all that," I finished, thankful that someone finally noticed me.I avoided the topic on mind reading, I still wanted that a secret. We walked on, Kayla still scrambling in her notebook.
"So, why are you at this crazy school?" I asked, truly interested.

Arina looked up and noticed that they were about to go through a garlic patch. Then she groaned. and pointed at the garlic.
"Garlic. I hate Garlic....but oh well!" She said as she hovered over it to the other side. Kayla's eyes widened and she started writing in her notebook again. Arina turned into an eggnog colored wolf as she waited for everybody to catch up.

"Well, I can't do that, but I can see the future and I'm part witch, so I can cast spells and all that," I finished, thankful that someone finally noticed me.I avoided the topic on mind reading, I still wanted that a secret. We walked on, Kayla still scrambling in her notebook.
"So, why are you at this crazy school?" I asked, truly interested.

"Ho-ly cow." Kayla said, pencil flying over her paper. "This is... I've never... wow. This is one crazy school." she said, flipping pages in her note book as she filled them. "Man, you guys are going to make me buy a tape recorder just to keep up with all this."

"So why are you at this crazy school?" Asuna asked, interested.

Kayla shrugged.

"I flooded three schools, caused a hail storm in two, and washed out the halls with a tidal wave in two more. Kicked out of all of them. I'd be home schooled right now, but I froze my house and all its contents in a giant block of ice. So this was kinda my only choice. Never thought I'd actually make friends here, though.

She looked at Asuna.

"You said you could tell the future?"

"No, I said I had the occasional vision. It's not the same as looking at someone and knowing what their future holds."

"That's still pretty cool. Jeez. This is nuts."

"Yup, yup!" Nancy agreed, skipping along side them.

They heard Arina groan behind them and looked at her.

"I think we're almost to the basketball courts, Arina. Not too much further." Kayla said, smiling as Asuna rolled her eyes. Kayla turned back to Asuna to ask her another question when a large shadow passed over head. Kayla looked up to see Arina floating away.

She squawked and was torn between grabbing her notebook and running after Arina.

"What the heck?" Kayla demanded as Arina floated away. She turned to Asuna. "Do vampires usually fly away like that, or should we be doing something? she asked

Codie followed slowly behind all of them. She wasn't used to being around girls. She was usually with her guy friends. Codie held her nose as they walked through the garlic patch. She wanted to change into an animal or fly above the patch like Arina, but decided not to. Nobody knew that she was a vampire. Codie wouldn't care if they knew or anything like that but it made her feel weird. Everyone else was telling their secrets while she kept hers bottled up inside.

"Code Red!" She heard someone call. Codie turned around and saw Andrew, one of her best friends tearing through the feilds on his four-wheeler. He went to her school unlike most of the guys she hung out with. Andrew pulled up beside her and her friends and began to ride slowly.

"Hop on." He said to them.

"Silly. There isn't enough room." Codie told him. He held up his index finger.

"That is where you are wrong." He informed her. As soon as he finished his sentence a bunch of guys on four-wheelers burst through the brush that surrounded the fields.

"Your friends look scared." Andrew said as he pointed to the group of girls. Even Arina was huddled in the group of girls. Codie smiled at Andrew and jumped on the back of the four-wheeler.

As they rode past her friends Codie yelled, "Hop on the one of your choice." And just like that her and half of the guys where already riding off. The other half however where still in the field waiting for each of the girls to get on a fourwheeler.

Kayla's jaw dropped as Codie rode away on the four wheeler. She started to pick up her notepad, but shook her head and decided against it.
"This is, by far, the most eventful first day of school I've ever had." she said, tucking her notepad away. "I call this one!" she said, hopping on one of the four wheelers. "Hey, this kinda looks like mine." she said to the driver as they started to move.

"You had a four wheeler?" he asked.

"Used to. It was a while ago. I broke it, and that was that."

"You crashed it?"

"Something like that..." she said. Looking back, she saw her friends get on the four wheelers. She smiled.

This day rocked.

Arina turned back into a human and hopped on one that was black.
"I used to have one too!" She said. They all took off and Arina's hair blew wild.

When they made it to the courts, Arina went into the bathroom and was there for five minutes before they heard the door open, and then close, she was out.
"What took you so long?" One guy asked. Then Arina walked out where everybody could see her, and her hair was cut to the bottom of her ears, she had cut it.

"That was... sudden." Kayla said when she saw Arina.

"Aw... why'd you cut it? It was so pretty before!" Nancy said, slumping.

"It still looks good. It's just... sudden." Kayla said again.

"What I want to know is why you go around with a pair of scissors in your pocket." Asuna said, crossing her arms.

Kayla felt for her notebook. She was going to need to get a new one here soon. Her interviews with Codie's friends had nearly filled it. She clenched her hand into a fist and brought it away from her book, waiting to see what Arina would do.

"I wanted it short, because it is more my style. Why? Does it look bad? ...And I don't carry scissors around. I just..." Arina trailed off, holding up a hand. They all watched as her fingernails all grew long and sharp and her hand turned into a lion's paw. Sulking, she clicked two of her claws together before changing her hand back to normal.
"I think it looks good, didn't we come here to play some basketball?" Codie said.
"Lets get started then!"
"Ummm.....hold up guys, I still need to know how to play." Kayla said.

"Basketball is by far the most easiest sport in my opinion." Codie laughed.

"What Codie means is you'll catch on quickly," Andrew told Kayla, "by the way, Codie what about the rest of the guys? Aren't the normal guys from camp supposed to meet you here?"

Codie nodded. "So we gonna play shirt and skins? Or regular?" She asked.

"S&S." Andrew replied.

"Fine, me and the girl will be on the shirts side." Codie smiled.

"Ah. That's not fair." Andrew laughed. Codie laughed and walked over to Kayla.

"Okay. All you have to do is dribble the ball." Codie said as she showed Kayla how to.

"You can also pass, steal, and shoot." Andrew said walking up behind Codie, stole the ball, passed it to another guy. and that guy shot into the basket without one flaw.

"Nice!" Codie yelled.

"Do you understand?" Andrew asked still talking to Kayla.

Nancy frowned. "I don't play basketball. Do you?"

Everyone turned to look where Nancy was talking too and jumped as they saw another girl, glowering in the shadows. She was definitely a vampire too, if her glowing, shimmering appearance and strange eyes were any indication.

"I said, do you play basketball?" repeated Nancy patiently. "This tree says you're a vampire and you once killed a tree and he hates you and your name is Asuna."

The girl blinked. "Er...yeah."

"Do you play basketball?" Nancy asked again.

I sat down on the court watching a boy explain the game of basketball to Kayla, once he was finished she nodded slowly.
"Okay, I think I've got it," Kayla said, nervously, starting to dribble the ball, awkwardly. I got up and giggled at Kayla's performance.
"I don't think that you'll win playing like that," I said walking over to her. Kayla tried once more.
"Okay," Arina said, jumping into the tutorial, "That's better. Now try to shoot a basket." Kayla threw the ball in the air. It stopped short in front of the net.
"Uh, try it more like this," I said throwing up the ball again. It bounced of the backboard and into the net.
"Wow," Kayla said, "You guys are good!" She tried again, this time with more effort. It bounced off the hoop and hit her in the head. "These balls hurt," Kayla said, holding her head. We all laughed.

"Andrew?" Codie said as she sat on the side of the court waiting for the others to decide when to play.

"Yeah?" Andrew answered while he made a flower turn into a basketball.

"You are the only one that knows that I'm a vampire, right?" She asked. Andrew nodded.

All of a sudden the girls started laughing. "By the way, how did you get so many girls to come?" Andrew asked Codie.

Codie rolled her eyes and said, "Well, I only, really invited one. But, she invited more girls. If it wasn't for her all of them might not have even come. You know that I don't like to make many girls friends because they might be to girly." Codie informed him as her green eyes sparkled in the light.

Andrew leaned forward and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. Codie blushed and kissed him back. They both smiled at each other and stood up.
