**I'm bored, wishing for a romance, and realizing that Adam has apparently stopped posting on this. If you know me, you know what I'm thinking!!!**

The slamming of the door scared me, and I forgot the smell for a moment. The destraction was good. The fear was not. I jumped, grabbing Haru's arm worriedly. He didn't seem to mind. Actually, he almost seemed comfortable.

No one spoke. We couldn't see whoever/whatever was at the door, but could hear it breathing heavily.

Finally, I found my voice.

"Hello?" I asked quietly.

"Hey...Where's Sara and Kate and all them?" Alice asked, "they should be here by now."

"I don't know," Jesse admitted.

"Hm... Thats strange." Alice started feeling around in her pockets for her wand. "Calder did you take my wand by any chance?"

Looking almost smug he handed it over.

"Thank-you, now follow me, I think I know how to find them."

"How?"

"Watch," She smiled and then held out her wand, "random spell!" Instantly her wand lit up and started leading her in a direction she'd never been before, bringing them to a brick wall.

"Whats this?" Jesse asked.

"A wall," She said. "reducto!" she waved her wand at the door and the wall splintered and shattered.

"Bloody hell!" A voice from inside shouted.
I just lost the game.

*I don't really know how to respond so this may sound dreadful*
*And question, does anyone have a plan about what this betrayal thing is about, or are we meant to chip in and make up a past of some sort?*

<Haru>

She grabbed my arm tight when the door clanged open. I didn't mind. It actually felt quite comforting.

'Hello?' She asked, her voice timid. I turn to her and press my thumb against her lips. Next I pull the life-saving bouncy-ball from my pocket and throw it across the room, causing tiny thuds and pings to sound from every direction.

An animal-like scowl comes from the door.

'Playtime, friends.' Marcus hisses. The girl frowns as me. 'What? Scared?' He mocks. She pulls away a little and I gesture for her to keep quiet, begging the others will do the same. 'I've got treats for you kids, I'll let you out if you come and talk to me'. She looks at me and I shake my head violently, then she waves to the other two.

When the light finally fades and teh door bangs shut I realise my lungs are aching and release a long breath.

'That's Marcus,' I tell them, the very name making me shudder. 'Always stay quiet, never move. If Marcus becomes aware of where you are, he'll hunt you like a mouse in twilight and tear you limb from limb.'

'Why don't you lure him in and catch him?'

'We tried, once.' I swallow hard, choking on a memory that's best never told or relived. 'Believe me,' I laugh lightly, 'It's never a good idea to play with Marcus'

I yawned, blinking a few times.

"I'm tired," I decided.

"Tired? We're locked in a dark, nasty room and all you can say is "im tired'?" Kate exclaimed.

"Kate, have you ever heard the wierd stuff that I say when I'm tired? Don't expect any decent ideas from me until I get a few hours of sleep."

"We're all pretty edgey right now. I think sleep would be good for all of us." Linds commetned quietly.

"There's another bed over there," Haru said, pointing toward anotehr side of the room. Lind and Kate walked in that direction.

"Do you mind if I stay here?" I asked, still holding his arm tightly.

"No, not at all," he replied, pulling his arm out of my grasp and wrapping it around me.

"What happened when you tried to catch Marcus?" I asked quietly, curling up against Haru.

*Sorry A13, I didn't realise which door you opened. And besides we now have a vague identity of one of the bad guys... that helps, I think?*

<Haru>

She curls up beside me. Sweet, despite the situation in which this odd attachment seems to be unfolding. Then she asks her question, and my entire body turns to stone. Dying screams suddenly spring back to life with a new, vivid terror, I fight the urge to crouch in the corner with my palms pressing against my ears, the same as last time when me jaw clenched so tight I could taste the new flow of blood.

'There was a boy called Samson in here, he was one one who organised it.' I struggled to remember the story through words, but the noises wouldn't stop, the whole thing like a radio program transmitted over and over in my head. 'The plan was that when Marcus came in, someone would step forward, wand out, to lure Marcus out of the doorway. Then one of us was supposed to use Expeliamus, Samson would use the Imperious Curse, and from their Marcus would become our weapon. I don't know any magic, so my job was to close the door.

Up until then we had underestimated him.

The moment someone started to whisper the world Expeliamus, Marcus ducked and said something that made the whole room light up in a big flash. It was him that used his wand to slam the door shut, sealing us all inside.

I saw bolts, flashes, shouts, thumps. One loud crash told me someone had falllen down right next to me. Marcus yelled another single word, and another dropped to the floor.

But Samson, no.' I choke on the words as they form in my mind. 'Marcus couldn't let Sampson go. He did something, I don't know what, all I saw where the lines of light that flickered around Samsons body. There was screaming. Samson screamed for minuets, maybe hours. Marcus roared with delight.'

'Was it... The Cruciatus?' Her voice gives me a refreshing flood of reality.

'The torture curse? No. This one was simple, but cruel. When he left, he opened the door and walked straight passed. I don't think he ever realised I had been there.'

I leap as the door... well, I can't say opens. I stare at the burning light, and the remains of what once was the door, blasted by shadowed figures standing in the huge hole.

The betrayal thing just sort of ended up in there. No plan or anything I'm afraid but it's clearly someone in favor of keeping the Slytherin house strong and separate from the others.

Kate

"Bloody hell!" Haru exclaimed as the door and the wall it was fixed to shattered and crashed to the floor in a blaze of light.

"Wait, I know that spell!" Lindsay exclaimed excitedly.

"Yeah, only Alice can cast reducto like that," Sara agreed as Jesse, Calder and Alice stepped over the rubble.

"Uh... sorry about the mess," Alice apologised. "Where have you guys been?"

"In here," I replied, leaping to my feet and hugging first Alice then Calder and then Jesse who I held onto for the longest, feeling safe as his arms encircled me.

"Why were you here?" Alice asked.

"We have absoloutely no idea."

"Oh well...Alright. You guys hungry?"

"Starving."

They all walked back the way they came to the great hall.

"Guys...I have something I want to tell you..." Alice said nervously.

I know people are staring at me as I walk though the unfamiliar hallways, following the girls and the group who had just come to save us. I keep my hand against my forehead to block out the light, and whilst my other hand fiddles with my pony-tail I glance down in slight shock at my bright blonde hair, now a dusty grey colour.

The air all around us smells clean and so new, colours bursting from every side. I start to wonder just how long I was trapped in that room. The sound of voices everywhere, tens, hundreds of them, bold and strong, untainted by fear. I'm more than happy to follow along behind them unnoticed.

I admit, I almost feel proud that people are looking at me. Curios, bright eyes, looking at me. We enter what I assume to be the great hall, a magnificant room that I can't begin to explain.

'I have something I want to tell you,' One of the girls explains, looking at the others worriedly.

My attention is distracted by the increasing quantity of people now staring our way. I'm starting to feel nervous, my hands shaking. I can honestly say that I'm not afraid, but I've never felt more vulnerable in my life.

Two teachers mingling in the hall glance at eachother, then to us, and slowly start to move. I focus back on eagerly awaiting what this girl is about to say.

As we walked out, I practically attacked Alice. It was good to see her again. It was good to be in the light again, regardless of how much brighter it seemed.

Haru was beside me, filding with his ponytail and squinting against the light. It was then that I realized just how long he must've been in the light. He was at least my age...I think...I wasn't really sure actually.

"Are you all right?" I asked quietly, putting an arm around him.

"I have something I want to tell you," Alice said. Haru turned his attention to her, trying to ignore the other people, and the teachers who were noticing us.

"what is it Alice?" I asked.

**Alice, I can't spazz. It's not in Sarabella's nature to be unexcepting...**

"Okay..." I said slowly, trying to peice things together. "And I'm a Slytherin...that's about as bad as it gets." I held Haru's arm tightly, waiting for something worthwile to happen...it always does.

**NOthing else to say**

*Alice person, since you have an idea in mind, how about puppeting the others through the following conversation, that way it goes according to your plan, then we can jig it about to fix any character hiccups.

Also, if Sarabella is not unexpecting, how about angry that either Alice left out such an important detail, or that she thought being a yank and mudblood was something to hide in the first place*

The girls seem to be firing comments and remarks back and forth, most of which I can't keep up with. One of the teachers frowns at me and gestures for me to join the others that have gathered.

'Yes miss?'

'What on earth have you done to your robes?' She exclaims, then sniffs and squints at me. 'Who are you?' The others teachers look down at me suspiciously. What am I supposed to say?

'I'm Haru, miss. And I think I've been hit by a memory spell or something, I can't remember.'

'Really?' Another remarks. 'You look like you've been hit by a train. Come with me'.

'One moment sir.'

In amidst the small commotion I touch Sara's arm and nod lightly. I wish I knew where I was going, I know I have to change, clean up, there's a lot to sort out. But I've not been so anxious in a long time.

*okay, i've just vanished, but i'm still here. so now you guys have to get through this conversation so some time can pass before I get back from head teacher person*

Cheat your landlord if you can and must, but do not try to shortchange the Muse. It cannot be done. You can’t fake quality any more than you can fake a good meal.
