Alice and Calder laid back on the grass waiting for the meteor shower. Lindsay and Sedry followed.

"Hey, Alice, scoot over!" Said Lindsay so she could fit next to Sedry. Alice slid closer to Calder, and Calder inhaled sharply. He snuck a quick peak at Alice before looking away again. He felt so childish.

Then out of nowhere came the meteor shower. It seemed to erupt from the sky, and shoot over them.

"Wow, thats beautiful."muttered Alice.

Without thinking, Calder slowly slid his arm around Alice as they watched the shower, and he looked over at her waiting for a response.

Alice snuggled closer to him, her eyes still fixed on the sky. She glanced at Calder with a sly smile and pulled out her wand.

"Alice... what are you doing?"

She pointed it at the sky, "think I can hit one?"

Everyone chanted, "no!" in a frantic way to get her to stop; pouting Alice put the wand away.

Calder laughed and rubbed her shoulder.
I just lost the game.

I didn't want to disturb the two couples so I headed a little further from Hagrid's hut and sat down in the grass. Sarabella soon came to join me, bringing Adam with her, and Jesse and Hagrid completed our little group. I gazed up at the sky and watched the beautiful meteor shower.

"Think I can hit one?" Alice wondered, pointing at the sky. There was a chorus of 'no' and she reluctantly put her wand away.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Hagrid commented happily but seemed to be paying more attention to the happy couples than the sky as he wiped a tear from his eye with a huge table cloth.

"Very," I agreed.

"What are you doing here?" A stern voice asked and we all turned, our hearts beating at an alarming rate to find two shadowy figures gazing down at us. Suddenly the one who had spoken began to laugh and Xander approached, a huge grin plastered across his face. The other boy stepped into the circle of light from our lanterns and I saw that it was Ashton.

"That was a mean trick," Alice commented but she smiled warmly and stood up to greet the two students.

"But I couldn't resist," Xander replied.

"What are you doing here?" Lindsay asked.

"Same thing as you, we came to watch the meteor shower," Ashton explained.

"Or to ruin everything." I muttered. Sedry smiled at me and I felt a bit better. He stood up to say hi and I followed, reluctantly.
*sorry, gtg*

Alice went back next to the now standing Calder and conjured up a blanket before setteling back down on the grass with it.

Calder joined her, once again slipping his hand around her, and she snuggled closer to him.

The metor shower was beautiful, raining the beautiful rocks until well after one in the morning. When Alice fell asleep, her head pillowed on Calder's chest.
I just lost the game.

That night, Calder slept with a smile on his face.

As he woke up, he looked down, and saw Alice using him as a pillow. Calder smiled and gave her a gental shake to wake her.

It was still black out, so they still had enough time to sneek back into the castle. Calder shivered. It was freezing out here! As Alice looked up at him, they both smiled, but came to stand next to each other. They moved over to Lindsay and Sedry, and slowly woke them.

Soon enough, everyone was awake, and they started there way back to the castle.

Alice was still half asleep as they made their way up to the castle, and had to lean against Calder so she wouldn't fall.

"I hope i don't have any tests tomorrow," she grumbled when they were in the common room. She groaned and leaned against the rail leading up to the girls common room. "If you see me falling down the stairs you know I fell asleep, so just leave me there."

She waved her hand in a farewell and climbed up the stairs to the dormatory. Hoping to get another three hours sleep before breakfast.
I just lost the game.

I waved goodbye to the members of the other houses and then headed to the Slytherin common room with Lindsay and Sarabella.

"I think I might just sleep down here tonight," I murmered sleepily but somehow I found myself in the girls dormitory, sprawled across my bed.

"Goodnight," Sarabella whispered with a low, satisfied yawn.

"Night," Lindsay responded.

"Sleep well," I added and snuggled deeper under the covers with a happy smile on my face.

The next morning, everyone was suprisingly hyper. The all bounced down the stairs, and imidiatly started walking out to breakfast. Alice with Calder in tow(spelling?) jumped on the the banaster, and they slid down to the great hall. As they made it to the ground, Sedry and Jesse close behind.

They all ran to the Slytherin table and sat down next to Lindsay, Kate, and Sarabella. They all recieved evil glares from the rest of the Slytherins, but none of them seemed to care.

Alice was spacing out as she ate her bacon and said randomly (interupting a conversation about the metor shower) "People should call me Alzz."

"Alzz?" Calder said skepticly, "I like Alice better."

"Alice is so boring though," Alice sighed.

"Alice doesn't fit you at all, its not hyper enough," Sarabella made her eyes widen fakely as she spoke.

Alice sighed and rested her elbow on the table, "I give up."

Calder put his arm around her, "Alzz sounds like a guy name anyways."
I just lost the game.

In the morning, conversation flowed faster than ever before and where there had been awkward silences the first few times we sat together, now it all felt natural. In fact, it felt like we were a family.

"I'll call you Alzz if you want," Adam declared, shuffling nervously under the glares of the other members of his house but he seemed to feel safe with us.

"That's really sweet of you," Alice remarked.

"Hufflepuffs are sweet though," I reminded her and, without thinking, I reached out and patted the kids head. Even more strange was the fact that none of us, not even me, though it out of place and there was no break in our discussions.

"Did you hear that they need a new chaser for Slytherin? Apparently Litch has been thrown off the team," Sarabella remarked.

"Really? Wow. And I thought it was just the keeper position up for grabs," Lindsay said.

"The keeper position? Doesn't Clarice have that?" Jesse wondered.

"She did but she decided to quit because she fell out with Lucelle," Sedry explained.

"When are the try outs?" I asked.

Alice wasn't paying much attention to the conversation anymore, she was more focused on the date of the next Quiditch match, Griffondor vs. Ravenclaw. And she would get to play.

When she came out of her daze she saw Garret glaring at the group, his eyes went over to her and she caught his gaze. They glared at each other for the longest time, and Alice finally had an idea.

"Garret," she said cooly, "would you like to join us?"
I just lost the game.

I turned to Alice with my mouth hanging open.

"Are you serious?!" I whispered. "Alice, I know you're crazy, but do you have a freaking death wish?" I was starting to panick as I looked from Garret to Sedry. Garret looked confused, but then he smiled. He walked over and touched my back as he sat himself inbetween Alice and me. I was really nervous and Garret stretched and put his arm around me, smiling.

"So what did you want, gryf?" He said, with the same smile.

*Hop I didn't mess you up, Alice*

Alice's smile turned cunning, "I want you to either be nice to us all, or leave us alone all together."

Garett groaned, "are those my only options?" the scarcasium in his tone was hard to miss.

"Yes," Alice said sternly, "If you mess with us again, my reducto will be the least of your worries. Go away now and think about what I said."

"Are you a third year threatening me?"

Alice leaned closer to him and whispered, "I'm promising you that if you don't make peace with us, you will not enjoy the outcome."

Garret looked shocked as he stood up and left.

"Whoa," Calder said, "Alice, I really need to take lessons from you."

Alice took a drink from her goblet and asked, "for what?"

"Standing up to people."

Alice patted his cheek, "its a gift, you're either born with the confidence to do whatever you want or you're not." She grinned, "like so..."

She kissed him, full on the lips.
I just lost the game.

I smiled at Alice and Calder before shaking my head and looking back down at the food on my plate.

"I have to go... see you all later," I mumbled, climbing to my feet and striding from the great hall. Once out of their presense, I let the pretence fall and wandered into a gloomy silence. I hadn't been faking all morning but when I'd started to think of our group as a family and then Alice and Calder kissing... I just couldn't stand it any longer. Why couldn't my real family be like that?

With a huge sigh, I stormed towards the common room, snatched up my broom and fled to the skies where I could be alone and think. The hours passed and I missed my first lesson, then I missed lunch and still I was hovering high above the school and wondering if my family would have disowned me if I'd allowed the hat to place me in hufflepuff. But surely that was worse? Why couldn't I be more like them? Why couldn't I have been in Ravenclaw like Father and Rachel or Gryffindor with Mother and Harry.
