"Come on, we have to get outside," Heather informed Rick, pulling him away from the shelter.

"What are you doing? It's not safe out there!" One very unhelpful citizen informed them, taking hold of Heather's arm and attempting to drag her deeper into the shelter.

"Please release my colleague, we're members of the UFO control squad," Rick declared.

"Aren't you a little young?" The citizen queried.

"Not at all," Heather replied, jerking away as the two hurried into the street.

"UFO control squad? And that's believable?" Heather rolloed her eyes. "Okay Adam, beam us up."

Sorry Alice!

Scipio and Alice wandered around for almost an hour before they decided to ask for directions.

"Leave this to me," Scipio declared with a wink before stalking towards one of the men who was hurrying through the streets.

"Why hello there sir. By chance could you tell me where the nearest tournament is?"

"Tournament?" The man echoed in confusion, running a dirty hand through his greasy brown hair.

"Jousting of course," Scipio expanded.

"Oh. Right. I believe there's one in the field down the road..." he pointed out a vague direction and Scipio thanked him before grabbing Alice's arm and hurrying that way.

"We'll ask again when we're closer," Alice decided. "He seemed a bit unsure."

Burning flames surrounded the Highwind as it broke through the atmosphere. Fighter planes were already waiting for the relatively massive ship. Adam had a much better lock on his two crew members now. He would have to drop the shields to beam them aboard. Hoping the hull could handle the bombarment he let them fall.

The ship shook as a missle struck its side. With a flash, Rick and Heather were safely aboard the Highwind.

"Hold on!" Adam Called thourgh the Comm system. He puched the thrust, forcing the ship to move at a very unpleasent near ninety degree angle. With a few last minute calculations they Forum Jumped towards Ivy.

"Bella, what is that?" Chris asked, pointing up toward the sky. Bella looked up curiously.

"That's Adam!" she exclaimed, jumping to her feet and waving at the Highwind. "ADAM!!!" she screamed. The ship veered.

"I'm beaming you up," Adam's voice came from communication device on Bella's shirt. A light sparkle covered Bella and Chris, transporting them into the Highwind.

"It's good to be home," Bella said immediatly. "What happened to the ship?"

"We ran into some not so friendly people," Adam replied.

After placing Chris in the medical section of the ship, Adam instructed the Medbot to look after him.

"I need you all to help me," Adam told the crew, "We have to locate everyone else. I know Where Alice and Scipio are, but a large enough temporal disturbance hasn't been created for me to punch through.

"So what exactly are we looking for?" Heather asked.

"I've mapped the temporal section we're caught in. It looks like time has overlapped itself a number of times making all of us move along the line in a parallel." A small projection appeared in the middle of the conference room We're in the middle. Now since I've retrieved you four these two lines have merged back into the central stream and returned to normal."

The three crew members looked at him as if he were speaking another language.

"Right," said Bella, "And that means?"

Frustrated, Adam pointed to the screen, "See these lines?" they nodded, "When they move a lot, tell me."

"Oh! said Rick, Why didn't you just say that to start with?" A slight twitch formed in Adam's eye.

"Just watch the timeline. I need to catch a nap."

"Sure thing Adam," Heather agreed. "You go take your nap." He nodded gratefully and departed from the room.

"So we watch the line?" Rick asked when he was gone. "Piece of cake. Oh look. It wriggled. You reckon that counted as a lot?"

"No, I don't think so," Heather replied.

"Hey. We should play cards!" Bella suggested. "But first I'm going to check on Chris."

"Good idea. I'll get the cards," Rick decided. And that was how I ended up in the room alone. If I'd known what was going to happen, I would have asked them to stay.

And one for Scipio -

Scipio and Alice weaved their way through crowds that thickened as they reached the jousting grounds. In the end, they had to cling tight to each other for fear of being separated.

"Look, you think he's one of the knights?" Alice asked.

"Let's go find out," Scipio decided, dragging her towards the armoured man and the little boy.

"Hello there? Will you be in the tournament?" Scipio called out.

"Too bold, boy," The man grumbled and then let out a deep sigh. "I'm sorry, forgive me. I'm usually very pleasant but I've injured my arm and I wont be able to joust."

Alice aproched the man, he looked just a hair older than Scipio did, "I'm good with injuries, perhaps you'd allow me to have a look at it?"

At the man's hesitation Scipio spoke up, "she really is."

The man relaxed and allowed Alice to remove his armor, "My name is Sir Lionel, and I'm just barely fifteen.'

"My name is Allyson, and I am just over fourteen myself," she turned and looked at Scipio, "this is my...escort Scipio."

"And I'm fifteen and a half."

"Are you two of any relation?" Lionel nodded towards Scipio.

Alice shook her head, "no we're not." She felt her cheeks redden.

"Where are you from?"

"Out of town," Scipio said.

"Where are you staying?"

Alice shrugged, "we do not know yet."

"Well if you can aid me, I'm sure I can find you somewhere," Lionel promised.

"That's very nice of you," Alice replied. The boy, who looked to be about twelve with sandy brow hair, began to brush down a horse.

"He doesn't talk much," Lionel explained. "So I get awful lonely."

"Tell me if this hurts," Alice began to probe her fingers across his arm and Lionel grimaced as she reached a point just above the elbow.

"I think you've sprained your muscle," Scipio decided.

"My muscle? I'm afraid I don't know much about medicine."

"Don't worry. It should be okay if you rest it and a tight binding will help it heal faster."

"Rest it? But the tournament - my father would be most displeased if I should have to forfeit."

"I'll joust for you," Alice said with a sly smile.

Both boys eyes lightened up in panic. And in unison they said "What?"

"If i let it be known that I'm a woman I'm certian they'll cancel the entire match, your father wouldn't be displeased with you if there wasn't a tournement."

"You're mad!" Lionel exclaimed.

Alice nodded smiling, "I always thought i was clevar, but mad will do."

"And I don't want the tournament canceled," Lionel protested.

"Then I wont let it be known I am a woman."

"Wait, why do you get to have all the fun?" Scipio asked.

"Because it was my idea," Alice claimed, already trying to pull the armour over her head.

"No way! I was the one who suggested jousting. We'll have to take it in turns. You can have the first match but you'd better not lose. I want a go!"

"How strange you two are," Lionel mused. "But if you think you can win then go ahead. I'm afraid I don't have much of a reputation to uphold. I can't stand the sport but father thinks it proper I should learn."

With Scipio's help she mounted the horse with the armor on. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Lionel asked.

"Hit for the chest, don't fall off, right?" She neglected to mention that she knew how to do this from a Heath Ledger movie.

"Yes, and don't die."

"Die?" Scipio asked.

Lionel shrugged, "it happens, with her its more likely, my armor is too big for her."

Alice shrugged, and whispered to Scipio, "I've beaten death before, i don't see why now is any different."

"Still.." Scipio held her hand tight, "Be careful. We don't have Nutty's superhealing spells around."

Alice smiled and urged the horse foward.

"Spells?" Lionel asked as Scipio began to climb to the roof of the stables for a better view. "What do you mean.Magic?"

"No, no, just a joke," Scipio replied, craning his neck to watch Alice shaking hands with the other armoured knight. Then they rode away from each other again and prepared themselves for the charge.

"Pretty isn't she," Lionel mused. "What's her status?"

"Status? Allyson's? Oh she's middle."

"Ah. A shame. But then, perhaps there is a little high class blood in her. I shall her it checked. She would make a good wife." Scipio gulped as Alice raised her lance and smashed into the other knight and then he cheered loudly when he saw that she had caught the man's attack upon her shield but hers had reached his shoulder.

"She's good," Lionel noted.

Alice repressed a groan as the sheild was driven into her shoulder, she now understood how much pain was involved in this sport. Expecially when the armor was too big, or in her case WAY too big. She rode the horse around and got another lance. She managed to block the next strike with the sheild but the third she wasn't so lucky. The blow struck her square in the chest, almost knocking her backwards. She held onto the reins tightly and managed to stay mounted.

Without removing her helmet she retreated to where Lionel and Scipio were. Then she pulled the helmet off and jumpped off, almost collapsing at the relief her muscles felt, "thats more strenious then i thought it'd be." She rolled her elbow back. "How many more matches today?"

"For me? None, for the same reasons you just stated.

Scipio groaned.
I just lost the game.
