Alice sensed the termoil that Adam held, she would ask him about it later, one on one. But for now she went over and gave him a big hug. "Glad to have ya back."

"Thanks Alice, sorry about strangeling you."

"Not the first time, and I can nearly guarentee it won't be the last."

Adam laughed a bit, "anyways where's Jay? He couldn't have gotten far."

"Actually..." matt said heasitantly, "he did, I teleported him somewhere."

"A tiny insignifant detail, he's not what we're trying to do remember?" Alice said. "We've still got those devices to destroy. Are the repairs done?"

"We still have a few hours, but I have to tell everyone something. Meet me in the conference room in 30 minutes ok." Adam smiled weakly and headed for the elevators.

This sucks he told himself. I've blown everything. How could I let this happen!?"

He entered his room and his computer was already flashing red. No suprise. He knew what it was. No real reason to read it.

Alice followed Adam up the elevator alone. She walks up to his room and knocks on the door. "Adam? Are you decent?"

"Yeah."

Alice opens the door and walks in. "Adam, there's something more to what you were saying earlier. I don't know if it has anything to do with what you're going to tell us later but whatever it is tell me now."

"Well..."

"Adam, you've saved my life enough times to know that I trust you, you should trust me, and what ever is wrong I swear I'll help you fix it."

"You cant...None of you can. Not this time."

"What is it!"

"I have to go back to Earth... and face the Council. I was on a contract. I got to leave Atlantis if I could garuntee I wouldn't submit to the Deamos."

"Well, We'll go with you."

"No. You cant come. Only those born of the City can enter it. Besides. You have to go to Aleron. I might not get to return to the ship. You have to go to the Outpost. When you get to Aleron I'll send a message or i might be there waiting for you."

"But..."

"I have to go. You're in charge of the Highwind." Adam got up and went to the Hanger bay. He opened the hidden compartment and revealed the Ragnarok. He jumped in and took off. Adam hated long goodbyes.

Alice ran to the take off point, "adam," she whispered to herself, "you better come back, I'll get this crew into so much trouble."

She turned around and straightened her blouse. Well she would have to tell them what happened, and they were all meeting in twenty minutes anyways. Maybe thats what he planned all along.

Trying not to sulk, a captian never sulks in front of his crew, she walked back to the door. A flashing red light caught her eye. Adam was gone, and she was captian now, what did it matter?

She pushed the button, "Adam," a very offical voice said, "you have broken the contract you must return to Atlantis for a fair hearing, we understand the circumstances surrounding it all, and what you're doing, so that may sway into your favor. But for now appoint a new captian of the highwind, and report back now."

She was the captian now, but why her? She'd figure it out, and she'd figure out how to get adam back, she couldn't be captian forever.

It would be a long ride back to Atlantis. Normall a fighter would never make the trip but the Ragnarok was no ordinary fighter. A Forum Jump Engine cut the trip down to a few days.

Adam sat in the cockpit and played Star trek Armada with the computer. It was gonna be a dull trip.

Twenty minutes later, the group gathered to hear what Adam had to say.
"Where is he?" Bella wonders.
"Not coming," Sighs Alice.
"What?" Demands Rick, "But he said..."

"Listen. When he turned into that... creature. He broke his contract with the Atlantians and he has to go there for a trial sort of thing. He made me captain," Alice explains.
"He made you captain? Wow. He really has lost it," Nutty declares.
"So is he coming back?" Scipio asks curiously.
"If he can but they might not let him," Alice replies.

"He made me promise to go on with what we were doing, if he comes back I'll gladly give him back the captiancy, as I assume any of you would. But as soon as the repairs are complete, we will be off again."

Adam gone? it couldn't be. Nutty shook her head slightly. What will we do without our pilot?
Sighing slightly, she drew her spork. Healing her side was going to be a long and painful process. Healing herself never seemed to work as well as healing others.
And we're all going to be in top condition to survive this, especially with lessened numbers.

Adam browsed the interent a while. He was bored out of his skull.

"Sweet," he said finding the coolest smiley ever!

"Hope I get to go back and show everyone..."

Alice walks into her room and plops onto the bed, two more hours until the repairs were done. "Oh my god!" she realized and sat straight up. She needed to tell Nate what happened.

She walked down the hall to Bella's room, "Bella," she says while she opens the door, "I need to talk to nate, but I don't know how to get there. Adam took you with last time right?"

"Yeah," she nodded, it was ovious she had been crying.

"Good, cause I've got no clue."

Nutty entered her quarters. Moving to her computer, she wondered what she should be doing. "Resting, probably..." She muttered to herself. Since the new captain hadn't said Nutty should be doing anything, she was procrastinating. As usual.

She surfed Druid.net for a while, and decided that she had better things to do. Standing up, she went off in search of Alice.

2 Days Later

"We are approaching Earth," said the Computer. It had been a long few days. The tiny fighter landed in the YWS hanger bay with an assortment of other fighters and shuttles.

Adam stretched his legs for a grand total of 2 seconds before Atlantian authorities sealed his powers and bound his arms.

"Now fellas, is this really neccasary?" Adam asked as the pushed him to their shuttle.

"Yes," one of them said stiffly.

"No wonder I left....You guys are all sticks in the mud."

I wonder how adam's doing...
"Alice?"
"Yes Nutty?"
"Where are we going?" Nutty was polishing her spork, lying on the couch.
"Well, if you would help with the repairs, we would be going lots of places!" Alice glared at nutty.
"But I'm wounded!"
"You're fine!"
"Hmph. Anyway, I'm no good at repairs." Nutty stood up, wandered over to the nearest computer, and pushed some random buttons. "There! All fixed. Can we go now?"

"The repairs are finished," Alice announced in a loud, authorative voice that carried around the ship across the loud speaker.
"Brilliant," Scipio murmurs.
"Yeah. We can go find Adam now," Heather agrees.
"And break him out of Atlanta," Rick adds. The other two turn to face him and he grins.
"I suppose it might come to that," Scipio concedes.
"Sounds like a plan," Bella declares, entering the room with Alice and Nutty.
"Who's steering the ship?" Heather asks.
"Auto pilot," Alice responds as Nutty throws herself into a chair and winces in pain.
"You okay?" Scipio asks.
"Just fine. Simply brilliant," Nutty mumbles sarcastically.
"Well that's good," Bella smiles happily.
