"Hello there Jay," said Matt. Adam stood behind him against the wall.

"I'll kill you all once I escape," said Jay, grinning.

"Oh, Ned says hi." Jay's face went pale. "What dont you remeber Ned? He surely remebers you."

"You know nothing."

"Why did you try and Trick Alice again!?"

Jay stood up and was one inch from the holding field. "If I tell you. I'll have to kill you." He laughed manically and sat down.

"What do you know about jay?" Alice asks.

"I know he loves you more than life itself."

"Really?"

"That's what he said, but after seeing how beat up you were I'm starting to believe he was lying."

Alice leans back and sighs, "I used to be quite fond of him too, but I think he's got a bigger agenda."

"Drop the field," Matt said. Adam clicked the Button and the field was gone.

Jay leapt to his feet ready to fight. Matt simply pulled out his master Spatual and blasted Jay into the wall with it. He fell and started to puke up Slugs.

"How gross," said Adam.

"That'll stop in five minutes. We'll be back in 7. If you dont tell su why you took alice i'll blast you again and again." Jay simply puked up more SLugs as Adam reraised the field.

"Do you have something of his?"

Alice suddenly remembered, "yeah," she paused, "the key to his life." She put her hand over her heart, "he sealed it away here long ago and made me promise to keep it safe."

"Have you?"

"Yes, and I guess he needs it now, so that means... I have to die."

"What?!"

Bella walked through the shuttle, which was on auto-autopilot when they left. Heather and Scipio were in the back talking quietly, Rick was sleeping, and Nutty was occupied with changing from one creture to another at a rather fast speed.

"Nutty, what're you doing?" Bella asked.

"Practicing, so I can kill whatever kidnapped Alice this time."

"Oh, ok."

"Approaching destination," the computer voice rang through the small shuttle.

"Get ready guys!" Bella shouted, running up to look at the computer screen.

"How long does that spell really last?" asked Adam as the stodd outside the Brig, enjoying Jay's sounds of Misery.

"Like an hour."

"Nice. I could listen to it all day. The others should be to Alice by now."

"Hope she's okay. I figure we let her have the first swing at him once she gets back."

It wasn't a planet. The shuttle landed on the landing deck of an actual ship.

"This is unexpected," Bella muttered as she led the group off of the ship.

"What do we do?" Nutty asked.

"Where's Alice?" Rick jumped in.

"Shh, not so loud!" Scipio snapped in a hushed tone.

"Rick," it was too late. As always, RIck had run off in the wrong direction, opened the wrong door and found himself standing face to face with...

"Alice!" he cried, hugging her tightly.

"Um...hi Rick. What're you doing here?" she asked between clenched teeth, obviously not too happy to see them.

"Saving you."

"I doubt that," a large shadow came up behind alice.

**Gapes* ten pages? already? anyway, thanks for keeping my character active. I've been busy for... a couple of days... (stares at amount of posts)**

Nutty ran up to rick.
"What are you doing... oh... what is that??"

Nutty stared at the shadow. "It's really not right...."

Rick was staring at alice. "Alice! What's wrong?"

Nutty called out. "Oh...guys... a little help?" She stepped back as the shadow got closer.

"There's not much we can do Nutty..." Bella answered quietly, staring in awe at the large shadow.

*Rick, can you hear me?*

*What're you doing in my head, Bells?*

*Keep the shadow distracted, I'm runnign back to the shuttle to call Adam.*

*Can do!* Rick ran foreward defiantly. "Hey you! Yeah you big lump! Let Alice go before I kill you!" Bella would have laughed, but had other things to do. She ran to the ship and pushed a couple buttons on the computer.

"Adam, are you there? Can you hear me?" she said once she had the camera phone thing open. She was looking through a screen back at the Highwind. Matt walked past. "MATT! Get adam!! Now!"

"What? Oh, Hey bella. Ok!" Matt ran off to get Adam.

Mattster bolted to the balcony on which Adam was standing. "Adam! Come on! Quick!"

Adam grinned. "Matt, I know you like blasting Jay but please calm down."
"Not that! Bella's on the... the... thingy. Where you talk to people... on."
Adam raised an eyebrow. "The intercom?"
"YES! It sounds urgent, come on!"

Adam ran towards the bridge. Mattster followed.

That girl can be a real nuisance.
"Shut up Ned."

Alice turned to Adrian, "these are my friends."

"Oh," his hovering shadow backed off, "you can't have her yet."

Alice's face twisted in confusion, "what?"

"I'm not letting you go in a shuttle, I'm dropping you off and your friends at the Highwind."

"No, we're leaving now," Rick declares.

"I'm not ready to say good-bye yet, not again." Alice still couldn't see his face but she could sense it was twisted in sorrow.

"Adrain," she walked closer to him, despite Rick's grip on her arm, and pulled out a bunch of paperclips. "I made this a week ago, just out of boredom, but it has my name in it, and everything else, my name, part of my heart, although why I don't know, and my randomness." She took his hand and put it in his, "this way you don't have to say good-bye."

"I'm still not ready."

"Alice, come on," Scipio said.

Alice ignored him, she lifted up Adrian's hood. Everyone else gasped at what was on his face, except Alice. "You are not doomed to spend eternity alone, the time will come when you will have someone again. But like you said, they're something you could never be, my family."

"I could try."

Alice leaned up and kissed the unscared cheak, "I know you could, but I have to get back at Jay too."

His eyes widened in horror, "no! Never go back to him."

"Alice why's he so paniced about that?" Rick asks concerned.

"If Jay gets anywhere near her she'll die," Adrian put an arm around her protectivly.

"What?" Asks Heather, "I don't understand."
"It's a long story," Sighs Alice.
"Well give us the brief details on the way back to the ship," Scipio decides.
"No. I said she can't go yet. She can't go. I don't want to lose her," The shadowy figure hung his head in sorrow, a single tear trickling across the scars and flaws that ran through his features.
"This doesn't concern you," Rick snarls as Bella re-joins the group.
"Adam and Matt are on their way in another shuttle. I told them about the kidnapper," Bella explains.
"But he's not a bad person," Alice objects, "He's just lonely."

"So he decides to kidnapp you to make him not lonely?" Rick asks trying to shake some unneeded sense into her, "Alice what has he done to you?"

"Nothing," she pushes his hand away, "he's saved my life, given me a book, talked to me."

"She reminds me of my daughter," Adrain spoke up, "and I'll be damned if I let her die."

"How would she die?" Scipio asks, "we would never let that happen."

"If she gets anywhere near Jay, she will."

"Why?"

"Because a long time ago he asked me to keep something safe for him, and he needs it now, and i have to give it to him. But in order for me to do that, I have to die."

"Over my dead body," Adrian said.

"Don't tempt me man," Rick says, "but I do agree. Whatever it is you have of Jays he sure as hell ain't getting it."

"Either way I'm dead," Alice assures.

"Jay...." Nutty polishes her spork with her sleeve.
"Uh.. Adrian... we need to go back to the ship." She looked around. "Jay is on the shuttle, am I right?"
They nodded.
Nutty shook her head. "Well, if alice has to die, I think you are all forgetting something."
She grinned and held up her spork. "I've brought back heaps of people from death. Alice is no different!"

"And hasn't that been proven before?"

"Several times, I believe."

Adrian looked down sadly, "I know she's safer with you, so get her the hell out of here before I can't control myself anymore."

Rick and Scipio usher Alice onto the shuttle.

"Take good care of her," Adrian added, "she's the only person who could make me smile in over thirty years."

As the shuttle takes off Alice waves good-bye out the window. When she turned away she forced her thoughs away from him and onto her friends.

"I'm going to kick Jay so hard in the nads."
