Has anyone heard anything... spooky, recently? It might just be me, but I heard something creepy coming from the... NaPo Week Forums.

Oh wait, it is almost October! Upon further investigation, it seems the sorcerers of Poetry Crew are dying to announce that National Poetry Writing Month has been brought back from the dead! It is returning to YWS, but in a 7-day, condensed version.

NaPo Week 2026 will run from October 4th- October 10th. If you wish to participate, please head over to the forums and create your own thread!

NaPo Week will be packed with lots of activities, like hashtags, contests, fun events! Keep your eye on the NaPo Week forum for more posts coming soon. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask below. If you are new to YWS, you may have never participated in NaPo before and that is totally okay! NaPo stands for 'National Poetry Month' and happens every April. During that month, poets strive to write a poem per day, for 30 days. NaPo week will last seven days, which gives us a goal of writing one poem per day for a week. But even if you don't write every day, there are other challenges and badges available, even if you only write one poem, or cheer others on!

If this is your first year participating, or you want a refresher on how to make a thread, take a look at this! There is plenty in store for this month!
Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?

I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.
