What I like to write: Whatever I have a good idea for! I’ve written realism, sci-fi, fantasy, satire, poetry, sometimes many of these at the same time.

What I like to review: Poetry, definitely poetry. Beware my rhyme scheme crits

What I like to read: I hate to give a cop out answer twice now, but anything with a story I like! Twists are always fun if they’re foreshadowed well and make sense.

Age: I'm 19 as of right now but will be 20 by July this year

What I like to write: Poetry! Writing novels and prose is definitely not my thing, but I do my fair bit of storytelling through my poems alone. Love, drama, melancholy, reminiscence - these are the recurring themes in my poems.

What I like to review: Anything that doesn't require too much or specific prior knowledge. That's why I avoid reviewing long novels or works with a lot of references. Fanfictions are another no as most of times I know nothing about the original. Also, I have a very limited vocabulary so fancy language goes over my head altogether. I make it a principle not to review stuff I can't offer helpful feedback on. What I do review then? Simple poems (I don't understand half of those pretty poetry myself like ik it's good but just can't explain or comprehend how), short stories and a few novels I've been following from the get go.

What I like to read: I haven't read any proper novels or books (except from my highschool and now, medical textbooks), whether you believe it or not! The closest would have to be two books of the kids series 'The Secret Seven' and Germino Stilton's 'Race Across America' or whatever that was called. I'm just not that interested in reading as a person, plus my textbooks exhaust me too much to read for pleasure. YWS is pretty much all the reading I do, not a bad place to start. I'm making it a habit to read more works other than the ones I end up reviewing.

Two fun facts about me: God it feels like I've switched schools and the teacher is asking me this for an introduction icebreaker, like what do I even say to this ToT

1. I got into a medical college by clearing the exam they're calling the toughest in a decade's history.
2. I won third place for a worldwide contest in a small online magazine, that too on my first try ever submitting to a literary opportunity.

Age: oh, I'm getting up there...

What I like to write: poetry, really. I have tried my hand at prose so many times, but it all ends up becoming glorified prose poetry anyway. I suppose I have accepted my fate as a poet now.

What I like to review: I try to review mostly poetry because it is what I am most familiar with, but I don't mind short stories if they catch my eye. not really super into reviewing novels or anything of that nature though.

What I like to read: you'd be shocked to know the answer is not poetry, surprisingly. I mostly read nonfiction nowadays, such as philosophy, sociology, or anything on linguistics. I've also been trying to read 75 books this year, so I've been making a dent into that! I enjoy classics especially, and I have been on a Modernist lit kick (such as Woolf or Joyce) since forever.

My favourite thing about YWS: online communities are quite transient, but I've always found YWS to be very stubborn in that way; I think it is quite beautiful to see the people I know, new and old, still existing somewhere on this website, even if not "around."

My favourite thing about YWS: It has a cozy “creative workshop” feeling where people can share ideas and help each other improve.

1. I collect shells and sand from beach trips and keep them in jars on my bookshelf to prop up my books.

What I like to write: i love to write poetry! though i do occasionally dabble in writing prose or even short stories, and i'd love to explore those crafts more after a history of taking long breaks when it comes to writing! generally, i try to explore a variety of themes in my works.

What I like to read: as i am trying to read more, i am still discovering the specifics of my tastes in books. though, i have always been a fan of reading poetry collections, and i am a particular fan of contemporary poetry!

My favourite thing about YWS: i like how small it is... it's my little secret. on a more serious note, i love events here. and how it really feels like there's a community here.

My favourite thing about YWS: It's so self-contained and cozy. You come to know everyone who's active and hardly ever find the kind of horrid stuff you see elsewhere on the internet. Everyone is so nice, friendly, supportive, and helpful! I also love that YWS doesn't have an algorithm and instead spotlights all new works. It makes it feel all the more special when you stumble upon an old work and end up loving it.

Two fun facts about me: 1. I save a lot of trash thinking I'm going to use them in collaging or craft projects or that it will somehow come in handy someday. (Example: the strings they put in some types of bulk sanitary pad packaging, so you can pull on them and close the larger package. I'm still not sure why you would need to do that.)
