Happy September, everyone! Today, we have a very special and incredibly important poll for you: The Battle of the Punctuation Marks.

Your task is simple: vote for which punctuation mark would be the last one standing if they all had a fight. Please provide your defence and reasoning below as well, if you have the time. You can only vote once, so please choose wisely.

Good luck to everyone who has and will be starting school! In your times of trouble, remember the punctuation marks who are silently sharing your pages and rooting you on.

The battle begins now! Cast your votes!
Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?

I think exclamation mark bc it shows strong emotions! School is starting soon; I won’t be able to get online much but I’ll try!

I think the question mark would tear down an enemy bit by bit, beating them through interrogation and torture!

My vote's on the period! Very assertive, but not overly aggressive, and takes a firm stance.

question mark definitely has a mean right hook.

Couldn't offer em-dash as an option because the others would've stood no CHANCE

Oy, semi-colon: It's got a mean hook.

I originally was going to go with exclamation mark, but now that I think about it, I think the period would win in an argument, it's very serious and cold, and not too exaggerative.
You hunger, yet call me brother; you snarl, though call me kin.

I'm going with the period. It's sassy, savage, and cold. Period stands on business...periodt. (lol, see what I did there? :D )

I really like these -> //// //// //// forward slashes !!

like this / that and poetry / pottery.

I believe they would win because they are fast and flexible, and can mean what/ever you need them to be / they are cool / and jumpy and / the / best.

They can also divide and conquer like 2/4, 150/5 etc.

And they can help with abbreviations like w/o and c/o

Also in a pinch you can replace any other punctuation mark out there with a forward slash without confusion/

like this/
and this/ that/ and also this/
and do you see what I'm doing here/
and even with things like conjunctions they just work don/t you think/
yeah they are /really/ awesome/

Thank you for reading this essay on alliyah's thoughts about forward slashes, please enjoy your day now.
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Exclamation packs a lot of punch ellipses would definitely have a weird fighting style that would make the opponent give up or ellipses would simply not care and leave lol

semicolon can extend a sentence infinity; it can do this all day.

Period stops and gives up.
