...another Camp Nano????

Okay, last Camp Nano really sucked. I had really lofty goals and aspirations, but then I was hospitalized several times during that month because of emergency health issues and then had to recover from that, so yeah. It kind of sucked. Unsurprisingly, I was not able to complete it to my liking -- though, I am still alive, so I guess that's good.

Anyway, hopefully this one will be better??? Though, this time, I am going to scale back my goals a lot...

My goals:

1) Finish the last chapter in Book 4. (Which, happily enough, means that I will finish my first draft of my first series, yayyyyy!)

2) Finish the first chapter of Book 1 that I decided to totally redo. (Basically, the scene where Alainna and Solea are arguing because Alainna wants Solea to do her homework and Solea is just DONE.)

3) Finish the brand new chapter of Book 1 (started last camp nano) where Archondid and Solea have a midnight chat.

My plan is to first attack the last chapter with a vengeance, with a goal of writing about 500 words a day. Given how plodding I've been as of late, this will probably take about 20 days. Then, since both Book 1 chapters are partially completed already, hopefully they'll be easy to finish up... maybe about five days each?

Anyway, that's the plan! Wish me luck... :)

Yessss! I am so excited to be finishing this series! :) (At least until the next round of edits...)

Okay, for Day 1... 372 words. Hmmmmmm. XD

Favorite out of context line...

The sound rang out everywhere until it felt like his entire body was ringing with bells and it was all that he could do but keep from dancing.

Favorite out-of-context line:

“This should be easy!"

So... um... Day 3...

I now have... 995 words... lolololol.

(I worked on Book 2 yesterday mostly, PLEASE FORGIVE ME.)

Random out-of-context line from Book 4:

“No, don't do that! That’s a bad idea! He’s already tried to eat me!”

YES, I am writing HIGH QUALITY LITERATURE here. XD

...oh no. they're doomed. D: *sends hopeful thoughts and best wishes but also a nice headstone, just in case*

Also lollll I absolutely get the getting distracted by another writing project xD I think the reason Camp NaNo is working well for me so far is cuz I have three to bounce between... Anyways! Working on book 2 is still working on the series, so I think it's cool! :D

...true. Though, I wanna finish too! XD

But yeah! Book 2! I wrote the scenes I had been itching to write. Does it count for my Camp Nano??? No... but darn it, I'm going to post one of the scenes anyway. XD

Spoiler
Alainna nodded to the man sitting with Clarise. “He’s an Indeterminate. Do you think he's Diamea?”

Jarista glanced at him and muttered, “Let’s hope not. He and Cyrus are good friends.”

“What?”

Jarista shrugged. “Cyrus has been interviewing him extensively to assess the current life conditions of the Indeterminate children.”

Alainna suddenly frowned. “How does that mean they're good friends?”

“They just are,” Jarista said impatiently. “When they first met here at the restaurant, Cyrus and he ran off together arm in arm and went to the tavern together. According to the tavern owner, they were dancing on tables together by the end of the night.”

Alainna turned to stare at the man. “That man was dancing on tables with Cyrus?” she said in disbelief. “Really?”

“Stop staring at him!” Jarista murmured, kicking her shin.

“Look at him!” Alainna snapped. “He looks like he's ready to fall over and die! Besides, can you imagine Cyrus dancing on tables? The whole thing is absurd!”

“I heard there was a lot of alcohol involved,” Jarista said dismissively. “Besides, that man looked better a week ago.”

Alainna raised her eyebrow. “Again, can you imagine Cyrus dancing on a table?”

I also wrote a section about the room that Alonso offers being a feeding room, with an in-character explanation of what that is, and!!! It doesn't read like an info dump. So I am SO PROUD. Still, it blatantly spoils Book 1, so maybe I won't post it right now. XD Also! I clarified the scene that talks about Cyrus's intentions in the investigation so the story makes more sense!!!! Also, even though I added all these scenes, there are actually LESS words in the chapter than I began with because I trimmed so many scenes! Also... I am completely distracted. XD

OKAY. SO. OFFICIAL NANO STUFF...

...I have 1393 words right now.

I was hoping to have 2000 by the Fourth. xD

WHOOOOOPS.

Maybe if I stopped playing around with Book 2, I might be getting somewhere, lol.

Out of context line!

“Hold on tight!”

It was actually hard to find a line that didn't completely spoil things. Lots of things are happening all at once. It is glorious.I should write...

Thank you!!

ALL RIGHT. Yesterday, I actually wrote things for Book 4!!! *gasp*

Current word count: 2084

It's lots of action right now! Hopefully, that means I'll be able to write more today and that writing will come smoothly and quickly. :)

Things... are not quite working out the way the outline planned, but EH. The outline is more of a guideline, really. XD

Random quote out-of-context:

Her mouth was wide open in song.

Lol, I am so sorry, that line is so misleading and terrible... it's not what you think it is, I promise. XD

...if you're wondering if I went back to Book 2 and deleted about 600 words of a chapter and made plans to remove about 500 more words from it by drastically trimming a scene, the answer is maaaaaybe. >.>

But.

The word count for that last chapter started today at 2470, which I dunno... is pretty cool?

It's not a huge amount of words, but a lot has happened. There is LOTS of action going on right now and it's kind of a glorious insanity at this point. I have no idea what my readers expect for the final ending, but hopefully they're hoping for lots of crazy action, because right now things are pretty crazy. Despite not making my goals for word count, I'm actually further along than I thought I would be because everything is happening so fast. XD

SO WHO KNOWS!!! Maybe I'll finish the chapter very soon!!! :)
