So I spent the first two weeks ill, and basically did nothing but fester in bed feeling sorry for myself!
In the second half of the month I did a little bit of writing (about 3000 words net once you include all the deleting I did) but I also did some noodling around a new idea which I'm going to post in the spoiler so I have some actual evidence that I accomplished something this month!

Setting: A picturesque village on the rugged coast of Ireland, with a history of shipwrecks and legends. Think stormy autumn vibes with a lot of rain because write what you know, right? Plot Outline: Intro: Maeve, a successful but disillusioned crime novelist, returns to her hometown to heal from a personal tragedy. Sean, a charismatic yet troubled artist, has recently moved to the village to escape his own demons. I have yet to determine these demons... Rising Action: Maeve and Sean’s paths cross when they both start to investigate the village’s most infamous cold case: the disappearance of a young woman during the annual Sea Festival, twenty years ago. Climax: Their investigation uncovers a series of letters and paintings that reveal the missing woman’s secret affair with a now-prominent village resident. Possibly a town mayor, or someone who has a lot of pull in the community. The night of the festival, Maeve and Sean confront the suspect, leading to a public scandal. They'll have to trick them into confession because this person won't want to reveal anything. Falling Action: The suspect’s confession unravels a deeper conspiracy involving several villagers, all sworn to protect one of their own. Maeve and Sean grapple with the moral dilemma of exposing the truth versus protecting the innocent family members involved. Resolution: They decide to reveal the truth, but in a way that spares the innocent. How this is going to work I have no clue. The village is rocked by the revelations, but ultimately, it leads to healing. The missing woman’s family finally receives closure, and the Sea Festival is reformed to honour her memory. Ending: Maeve finds new inspiration for her writing, deciding to stay in the village and pen a novel based on the true events. Sean’s art takes a new direction, capturing the raw beauty and resilience of the village and its people. Themes: The search for truth, the complexities of human relationships, the impact of the past on the present, and the possibility of redemption and second chances. And definitely some found family in there.
