**currently a work in progress** Comments welcome and appreciated!!

Bliss Was Ignorance WIP:
-Finish editing
-decide on keeping or changing last two chapters
-potentially write multiple endings

About the story: Currently at about 8k words and in a rough draft. After editing it should be about 10k. The novelette follows Joann, a blind young woman attending college. She falls in love with Markus, a deaf man. The story takes place in the future, where Joanna father is an inventor, known for his breakthrough invention of teleporting food across the galaxy. He was loved, until his invention of curing his daughter's blindness... fails... or so they thought. Joann gains her sight again, but maybe blindness was what shielded her from the reality of who she loved and who he really is.

New horror short story collection project:
-Write either:
a)10k words in one story, or
b)5k in two short stories
-Basically, 10k in total between stories!
-Look back at older and shorter stories and look at expanding on them
-> Jenna's Black Eyes

About: My current WIP (well.. one of three XD) is this horror short stories collection. This part of my goal is looking at adding 1-2 new stories to the collection in July.

Other camp nano things I might work on:
-My 'I'll Meet You In My Dreams' novel WIP
-My poetry novel WIP
-Romance fanfiction WNIP(Y)

Oooo that is a very interesting WiP! Sounds like an interesting collection of characters and world! I'm a sucker for fiction that takes place in the future. I also always love your horror stuff, Jenna's black eyes was a great one!

I will certainly be following to see how July goes!

First update: July 1-4

I have been working on two short stories. They are not as intense horror as my others, but I think they will still be included in my collection. Here is a little blurb of what I have done for both and what they are about.

Amongst the Robins and the Rivers: Okay, so you might have seen that I posted a short story with this name to YWS a few days ago. Little do people know that this is just me testing the idea to see how people interpret the plot, hehehehehe. I am playing with the 'in the cave' metaphor. It follows my two characters Robin and River, who have grown up in this cave. They used to have light but it was taken away for being dangerous, but now they live in complete darkness, following the commands of their leader who instructs them that disobeying rules is dangerous. The story I posted was a very very short version of the plot, honestly probably only like 10 percent of the story I am planning on telling.

But from posting that, I can see 1) people are familiar with the cave metaphor and it is well known. I did not even need to mention it for everyone to bring it up in reviews. This tells me I can play with the metaphor and perhaps use an alternative ending, as well as more detailed ideas than what are presented in the typical story. 2) people were able to follow along with the short plot pretty well. I want to use a similar tone and way of presenting my words in the future. But add way more detail.

Unnamed Mosquito Story: This story follows a daughter and father. The daughter is staying with her dad, while on break from college, in a remote countryside, outside of any towns. The place is rainy and humid... and filled with mosquitos. One day, they come outside of the house... and all the bugs are gone. It is like this for a few days, until they all come back... seeking revenge for the bug traps and sprays and pain the humans have inflicted upon them. My character, Amelia, loves animals and bugs and cant even hurt a fly, while her dad is ready to kill them all.

I wrote the introductory chapter to this story, where Amelia's plane lands, they go to her father's house, and he shows her the bug traps. It felt sort of boring, so I am trying to pick up the pace a bit with the plot. Oh also- this is sort of based off of true events from when I visited my dad last month... one day all the bugs were gone, then they came back in full force two days late XD Luckily they were not out to kill us lol.

Okay I need ideas for new stories and one thing I love doing is making quick little plot ideas for fun, so I thought why not type up a bunch right now!

Which one is your favorite? Feedback on which ones I should write are appreciated!

Plot 1: A narrative piece through a house where everything seems... off...think Coraline vibes. It's like real life, but the main character cannot quite tell why everything is so weird. Also he has no memory of how he got here, though the people seem familiar. As the story goes along, he realized that he is actually trapped in a nightmare and must do something to wake his body up before it's too late... because if you die in a dream, well, you die in real life.

Plot 2: A diary entry style story that follows a kidnapped man as he slowly falls in love with his captor... as well as her strange motives for him...Normally stories are about girls being kidnapped so I want to totally reverse the roles and power dynamics in this one.

Plot 3: A group of clowns who travel and bring joy to thousands of children around the country... little do they know that this circus is actually a traveling cult, recruiting members. One clown in the circus questions the motives of the rest of her coworkers, and begins to try and warn circus attendants of the dark motives of this group... but can she succeed, while being a mime and not able to talk?

Plot 4: A man develops a strange addiction... an addiction for pain and pleasure, after being in a near death plane crash. When he wakes up after being in a coma, he discovers that he can feel someone's pain/pleasure by touching them. He starts out seeking pleasure, but rapidly, that is not enough. He turns to pain, accidently killing a friend. The feeling of death turns him into an emotionless, pain seeking man. But how far is he willing to go to satisfy his feelings for death?

Plot 5: A conversation between Death and a mother bear, who is dying from a broken heart, after its cub got trapped and died in a bear trap. She realizes that death is here for her and not her cub.
Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?

...okay, this is the most morbid one, and yet this is the one that I am most interested in. So I guess I like morbid stuff. XD

Quick update (errrrrr... July 4-22nd I guess XD): Most of my writing time ( between traveling + being sick) has been dedicated to LSS or personal poetry writing stuff. Although I am quite proud of the amount of different plot lines I have come up with and have been planning for. I am pretty confident in my goals. Tomorrow its my goal to really sit down and get into the ACTUAL writing and not just planning, now that I am not traveling.
