@Spearmint -- the camp announcement was posted in the people's tab but then this poor forum sat empty so something had to be done! (it also wouldn't be a nano without me working on one of three projects i've been cycling through for let's not even count how many nanos lol) <3

@IcyFlame -- I don't remember the last version you read but I don't think you've read the re-written version?? I have someone reading it in August and then I'll probably make some more tweaks and then I can send it to you again!!

Day 1
*did one scene of NBBY line edits!


The first week of July is always so busy! Today and tomorrow are very full work days and then I'm off until the 8th for Independence Day in the US! After work tomorrow husband and I are traveling to my parents to spend the holiday there, and then it's my birthday lol.

Wasn't sure I'd get to this today because I was tired after work and I have some pre travel prep stuff to do, so I'm proud I took a few minutes and got this done!

Day 4
*did 1.5 scenes of the NBBY line edits!


At my parent's house for the holiday weekend! As predicted, the 2nd was too busy to work on anything (full day of work + travel day). On the 3rd I was busy doing stuff with my parents and never got around to opening my laptop So I tried to get a little done on the 4th! (which is the US's Independence day).

Day 6

And in the MORNING for a change! Yesterday was another fun and busy day with the parents. We're seeing extended family today and then driving home, so to avoid CAR EDITING (which I've done before lol) I managed to get some stuff done before the day gets going!

I *like* car editing because I'm not connected to the internet and can focus better lol
But I don't like it because I'm afraid I'm going to break my laptop because I have a big screen and it's a little hard to maneuver in the cramped car space
BUT the big screen means it usually doesn't make me carsick!!

Car editing is only something I do in a PINCH. Or if I'm trying to fill in [something I need husband's help/expertise for] and he's trapped in the car with me lol

Day 7
*grammar cleanup of several scenes, didn't work on any new scenes


Close to the end!! Can't wait to compile and do a whole read-through. Reading it through to do these line edits revealed that I remembered almost nothing from my re-write but I really like how this book has turned out!! So I think reading it top to bottom without needing to change anything is going to be so fun

Yayyyy! That's one of my favorite parts of editing... just reading it as a reader. It's fun.

I HAVE BEEN DOING THINGS
Finished line edits on the 9th.
Took a few days off to hopefully forget everything I did so I could read it with fresh eyes.
Started reading on the 12th & 13th.
Took a few more days off.
Finished reading on the 16th and worked on my query again.
Finished polishing my query and sent it to my August reader last night!

ps I love this book and the revisions I've done so much!! It's so fun remembering the version I blobbed out during nano 2021 and what the original plot was, versus now. I love this aspect of writing - that I've genuinely loved every draft of bunny rom com, but with every draft and every time i've rewritten it and majorly changed the plot, that she just gets stronger and stronger. and if this one ever finds a publishing home, her final form will be even stronger than what I have right now!! (which is hard to conceive because I'm so proud of her current form!)


ONWARDS TO GOAL 2. I'm very ready to turn off revising brain and go back to anything goes writing brain!

OMG!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! This is the best feeling ever.

Also I have considered jumping ship several times already this month because my little brain keeps giving me ideas for one of my BRAND NEW rom-coms. The premise is taking shape, the MC is taking shape, I have a LI name but know almost nothing about him, and I have vibes. So basically I'm about ready to write lol.

But for real I want to finish a draft of Every Reason Why first and this new one will probably be my regular nano (i have a title but i'll be referring to it as baking rom com for future reference) roadtrip romance is still in progress too, but I think that will end up being one like every reason why where I go back and forth and plod along for a long time before I have a coherent draft that's shareable.
