NaNo 2023 - Mutant Families

A weird big draft about a guy in a town contaminated by a mysterious sci-fi substance. Alongside his job defending the town from sci-fi monsters, he has to contend with a criminal gang intending to take over the town from his parents.

Featuring lots of side characters and unusual settings.

Currently this draft is at 81,000 words, and I'm hoping to add on 30,000 to it this NaNo by plantsing.

I'm in the middle of an important character scene now and it is just not going like I thought it would go . . . My main character decided to do 'good' things a couple of scenes ago, which changes the way this scene can go, because initially it was supposed to just cement that he thinks he should be doing 'bad' things but now it's like the other character has convinced him instead of him doing the reasoning himself argh - I don't know if that's better or worse but I'm just gonna move on. If I need to change it, I'll change it in the next draft.
