Ky hesitated when she saw the hall was empty, trying to decide. On one hand, it felt safer not to poke a sleeping bear. Whoever Narfi was he clearly didn’t want her knowing his real name. But. Then. That sort of made her want to know it more. It almost felt like he was toying with her. And that didn’t feel good.

She paused another moment then pulled the door closed after her. She didn’t know enough about Severus to know whether he’d tell her the truth or not. And also didn’t know whether he’d go running his mouth. Best not risk him telling Narfi she was checking in on him and piss him off.

Was this it? So easy? She was starting to let herself hope. Maybe she’d read him wrong. It probably wasn’t fair to think the worst of him. After all, what had he ever done but try to help her? She was letting her anxiety get the best of her. He wasn’t bad; they were parting on friendly terms. Whew.
