Behind Closed Curtains [OOC]

The Harbinger’s Society would probably be a mix of commedia dell’arte type actors (stock characters that are well-known to the audience and would have a specific role such as a servant, a young love interest, a doctor and so on. Actors would specialize in playing one of those characters, and performances wouldn’t have a specific script to follow) and circus performers/acrobats. Any role that could be an act is fine, though, even if it doesn’t fall into the above! The troupe would be very close and known each other for years, as traveling performance is a lifestyle that doesn’t have a lot of people moving in and out of it, so they would have to trust each other on missions and work together.

Whatever role your character has on stage would probably define their role in secret missions as well. A magician/illusionist would be great at diversions and tricks. Most acrobats would be able to use their skills for the more active feats, like climbing a building with rope or being stealthy. An actor could use disguises to their advantage, since they could easily pretend to be someone else and not get recognized. A sharpshooter or knife-thrower— well, you can guess what they’d be helpful for. As for their missions, most of the time the Harbinger’s Society will be stopping somewhere to pass along a secret message to rebels, sabotage a government plan, or sometimes just good old Annoying The Rich Folks. What their mission in Ciosia will be is undetermined, and so is the one before that went wrong, so this is an area I’d love to get suggestions on! As long as it’s against the Skadran monarchy/aristocracy, it works, so there’s plenty of possibility here.
