Sorry about the double post but I looked up an inflation calculator and $3 in 1928 money would be roughly $45 today, which I figure is pretty reasonable if Caroline and Emma spent the weekend on meals, public transit etc.

I used this in case anyone ever finds it useful: https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

Drafted the post— there are a couple spots for dialogue when they finally meet Sophie by the door to the alleyway. Right now, we're looking at around 539 words, so we should be fine!

Your post was amazing, Elinor, and the 4th one is coming along great in the pad!

Everything looks great so far. I´ve added my dialogue. Not sure what we should still add in the next section, but I´m open to continue a bit of dialogue if somebody gives me an answer. :D

I filled in a line of dialogue in response to Sophie! I think it's good to post but if someone wants to add some more dialogue that could be good, too!

I just added a short comment after Aloysius and I think that´s it from my part.

So, next week. We have four posts to do and have to work on the aftermath. If looseleaf makes the first post, we can insert the newspaper article. Plume had the idea of being questioned briefly by the police, which would be a good set-up for Julian to go to the funeral later? Would we open this with the fourth post? And the middle posts are more filler and reactions, as well as what we've done up to Thursday?

And then the following week we could find an obituary from the priest? Or the funeral starts properly and we meet the parents of HOG? We still have to somehow create this bond that we're now going to solve the murder together, right?

Posted!! And I think some filler posts with reactions sound good, and maybe ending on when everyone is at the funeral? The article could mention that funeral services are being held somewhere.

Ok, so next week would be:

1st post = looseleaf (newspaper article) and reaction
2nd post = filler and reaction of one of us
3rd post = filler and reaction of one of us
4th post = the last one reacts and to the funeral.

What about you, Plume? Do you want to have an interrogation with the police maybe?

Your post looks great, Plume! Also, I think that's a good plan for next week. Also, quick question, how are our characters going to reconnect/stay in touch from here on out?

I guess Alyosisus read about it in the newspaper and decides to go and Julian and Sophie through the speakeasy.

Maybe I contact you about it? Or we come together another evening before the funeral, where it´s not so busy, and you recognise me or vice versa?

Yeah, Aloysius would probably inform everyone about it.

Also, I thought Aloysius was going to find an obituary for HOG and not a full-blown article? Because if the police don't really pay attention to it I don't think there'd be an article on it.

But the newspaper article can mention that? The newspaper and the police do not work together directly, so it is only mentioned that the case is closed because it is a "victim in the wrong place at the wrong time"? And you find the obituary a bit later?

That sounds fine, but I don't think the newspaper would know about the murder if not for the police telling them, especially if the Golden Vanderbilt's on a bad side of town. We would also need to find the obituary before the funeral because that's where the funeral/visitation information would be. I'm fine with whatever we end up doing, though, just depends on how accurate we want to be.

True, true. Then maybe the murder is only mentioned in the paper but on page 2 or something and the next day the obituary is in there? And you see the connection there that it's HOG because he's not mentioned in the article and then you contact us?
