Also, posted! I had Mage find out he could snuff out the flames with his darkness, but I didn't let him get much farther than that.

Hmm...those were some pretty good tactics by Mage there...

Hmm...I think then he can finish the darkness and the rest will go in for the kill? And I was thinking afterwards we have like twenty or so of these things attack at once, and get them all distracted so that Mage can run into giant scary monster #2 that we conjure up? I'm thinking maybe three kinds of monsters before we end up going where we need to?

All of that sounds like a good plan!

I forgot to mention it earlier, but I had a fun idea for how we could reveal how old Mage really is. I've already slipped in a voice crack during the battle - I'll probably slip in another one at some point, too.

But one of the things I really loved including in an old draft of Mage's book was him getting growing pains in his legs at night, so maybe we could have that happen here? The group is sleeping at some point, and Mage goes up to Harry or one of the others and asks if they have any kind of plant/medicine that dulls pain. They could either start getting suspicious or assume that he got hurt during the battle and just didn't tell them. When they finally confront him about it, he could admit the truth.

Oooh that could be fun. Harry doesn't really need sleep, and Vankous isn't the greatest sleeper either but James will definitely need a nap soon enough.

And the voice crack was great....I'll try and direct the conversation towards ages at some point. Probably will bank on the classic Vankous Mr. Immortal line.

I love how quick Vankous is to call him out. I had Mage try to deflect the accusation so we could draw out him hiding his age a bit, so hopefully the fight will be the perfect distraction.

Ooohh that's perfect. I was hoping for him to deflect a bit. Well...time for some fighting...

We should probably start planning out our second monster now...this one should be a bit more dangerous I think...and we can have the other three spot that one.

That sounds like a plan to me! Instead of overwhelming the group with numbers, maybe we can have a single monster that's incredibly powerful? I'm trying to figure out what be a tough opponent for everyone present, but I'm not sure what would really challenge your guys. >>

SIngle monster's good...umm making one that's genuinely tough for Stean and Harry would probably require a little too much power, but I think we can cook up enough to scare the others pretty badly...and making create some kind of hostage situation that limits the other two or something like that...or perhaps Harry can try to prank Mage a bit here and pretend its a big threat...something along those lines. What do you think?
