Pool Party

No pool party would be complete without swimming gear, so naturally, when you pop up here, you're wearing some! Welcome to the pool party!

Whoever you are, you've found yourself in the backyard of a beautiful, big mansion, and there's a big pool lit up with color-changing lights, along with a nice toasty hot tub under the gazebo. A tall fence closes you in, from what looks like a forest beyond, in the darkness of the nighttime.

There are fancy little drinks with those tiny little umbrellas in them on a table by the lounge chairs, and there are trays of appetizers and snacks. It looks all ready for having a nice swim and splashing around!

2. I don't mind if your characters try to figure out what's going on - in fact, I want them to! But for this rp the plot will be directed by me, so if you have any major plot-altering ideas run it by me first. And also, you know - typical RP rules. Don't write for other people's characters, that whole deal.

4. I don't care if your character is from a different world or fanfic or whatever - it just affects how they react to and interact with things so keep that in mind!

Time to throw my boy in.

Benjamin "Benji" Frost: He's tall, and looks like he's somewhere in his early twenties. His black hair is relatively short and neatly styled. His eyes are brown, but, when caught in a certain light, they have a tendency to appear red. He's on the paler side, and his skin is free of blemishes. He's currently wearing black swimming shorts and a blue swimming t-shirt.

Benji knew something was wrong when he realized how warm and dark it was.

He had been in the woods before. Even though he was in an entirely new place, he was still gasping for air - taking in large, frantic gulps of it as he tried to calm the panic attack he had been having for the past few minutes. When he finally stop hyperventilating, he looked around at where he had ended up.

He was in the backyard of a mansion, standing by a pool. But it wasn't like the little pool his neighbors had set up the last summer; it was the kind of pool a hotel might have.

A rich hotel.

Benji stared at the water for another moment before he went stumbling back away from it. His hands reached for his scarf and for his jacket, but they grabbed onto nothing. All he felt was smooth, unfamiliar fabric.

He glanced down.

He was wearing the kind of outfit someone was supposed to wear at a pool. That made sense. He knew it did. But it didn't explain why he was wearing it, or why he was at a pool side to begin with.

He glanced around again.

Where was he? Had he been caught? He didn't think they'd change his outfit. He didn't think Daniel would change his outfit. But Daniel liked to brag about all of the cryptids he had caught, and how he was going to catch Mothman and stuff him and put him on display-

Benji took another gulp of air.

This wasn't Daniel's house. If it was, Daniel would have shown himself already. Benji knew his style - he liked attention too much to linger in the shadows. If Daniel was here and responsible for Benji being here, Benji would have known about it for sure.

His gaze lingered on the water as his hands fell to his side.

Genevieve “Gigi” Glistene: Medium height, long blonde hair and smart bangs pulled into a high pony tail. She has piercing blue eyes that always catch people off guard and sunkissed skin with a sprinkle of freckles across her nose which always has a naturally blush. Genevieve has abs, but the rest of her body is pretty standard in muscle. Her body is curves are a little bit more prominent than most. She is wearing a dark red bikini, the top is a vintage style, and the bottoms are high-waisted. At the moment, a white lace cover up is draped over her. Seems to be around 19 or 20 by looks, but is wise beyond her years.

Gigi’s sight was clouded by murky water as she struggled to reach the surface. Just as she ran out of air, Genevieves eyes opened and she sat up with quick, shaky breaths. “It’s just a dream,” She tried to calm herself, “You're not dead.” But, as Gigi surveyed her surroundings, she couldn’t be so sure her last statement was true.

Genevieve sat on the concrete pad that surrounded the pool. It wasn’t just your average, suburban pool. This was almost as bougie as her house. “Might as well enjoy this.” She mumbled to herself as she cautiously went towards the drink trays.

Kate: A girl with blunt bangs cut into her blunt long bob, all of which is clearly not dyed cherry red. She has a pair of round blue-lensed glasses perched on her nose, turning the red glow of her eyes a shade of violet.

She's wearing a two-piece black swimsuit with a gauzy overlayer embroidered with a floral pattern, though this is mostly covered by the black rayon swimsuit coverup with a skull and crossbones like a pirate's flag that she has wrapped around her shoulders.

In this outfit, it's pretty clear that she's got well-toned muscles and not a single curve to her lanky shape. Her tawny skin is a perfectly even shade, almost corpse-like in it's blushless, spotlessness.

Queenie Ringly: Big blue eyes, knee-length, wavy blonde hair, and nearly perfect skin, she's a beauty for sure. Queenie wears an emerald one-piece that hardly deserves such a title. Her hair is tied back with a red scrunchie and there's a sheer swimsuit coverup tied around her waist. Around her neck is a gold choker with ruby studs that doesn't appear to have any kind of clasp. From this is a little crown-shaped charm.

Kate opened her eyes. This wasn't Skull Rock, and that was not Tallulah.

'Who are you?' was the question she's asked, just not in such polite terms.

The girl - who had hair so long it probably weighed as much as one of the snot-nosed brats who traipsed about the mainland as if they owned the place - scowled. "I could ask the same of you," she said, disgruntled, as she peeled herself off of the tanning bed beside Kates. As pale as she was, there was no way this chick wasn't in the same boat as Kate. No sunblock, no sunglasses, not even a decent coverup for that methodically shredded piece of cloth that some glitter-loving manic decided was fit to be a swimsuit.

No, this girl didn't expect to be poolside today.

Kate rolled her eyes, "Whatever," she grumbled and got up. The chick didn't follow her as she stalked away toward the shade.

What this time? Some god-killing superbeast in the shape of a poodle? A bored pocket dimension created by some rich multi-eyed glitter-bathing trashbag?

She was so sick of this nonsensical bad-breathing horsefly dung that she was dragged into at every other turn.

Couldn't she just have a nice, uninterrupted week with Tallulah? Spend some time with someone who wasn't too dumb to find their way out of a paper bag for a little while?

This train of thought blinded her to the direction she was going until she bumped into someone. Blue-eyed blondies seemed the 'type' of this mad-science-experiment, or whatever it was.



Queenie watched the red-head go.

This again.

She turned on her heel, surveying the area. This place was expensive, minimum of ten million if the mansion wasn't as nice on the inside. This wasn't a kidnapping. No one with this kind of money wouldn't have the resources to know enough not to leave her unattended beside the pool, especially with a collection of other teens.

So. Yet another world.

I swear to the gods if this is that librarian again...

Her eyes fell upon the boy who was still alone. Little-miss-sass had bumped into the other girl, so Queenie went to the boy.

"Are you okay?" she asked, concern in her voice.

James Hawke. 26 yrs old. 5ft8inches, lean, but the parkour-type fit. He looks like the guy in my profile pic (that's a drawing I did of him)! Reddish-brown hair, dark blue eyes, thick eyebrows, and the beginnings of a beard. He's wearing simple blue and black swimming trunks. With nothing covering his upper body you can tell he's pretty hairy, but what probably draws more attention is that he's covered with scars. The most notable scars are a brand on his lower back and three giant slashes going all the way down his back at a slight angle.

He was cold, he was wet, and he couldn't breathe. James's eyes shot open under the water, and the moment he saw the surface he pushed himself upward but was careful not to do it with a splash.

As much as he needed air, he didn't want to draw attention to himself. He knew two things off the bat: he wasn't in Nye anymore, and he didn't know if there were any immediate dangers to be wary of. He broke the surface of the water with his face first, tilting his head back so his wet hair would fall away from his face. He was in a pool, but it wasn't a natural one. The water was pristine and clean, and the bottom of it was hard and cemented. If those things didn't give it away as being man-made, the steady color changing lights flashing on the walls under the water did.

He noted the people outside of the pool, quietly keeping his spiteful thoughts to himself. Of course he was the one thrown into the pool.

He scanned the area, trying to find an exit. It was night, and beyond what looked like a fence, there were only trees and pitch-black darkness. On the other side was the back of a mansion that was lit up on the inside. He couldn't really make out what was inside from the distance, but it didn't look like anyone was moving in the windows, at least.

That meant all of the people out by the water were likely in the same situation. Brought here by something or someone for no good reason.

He lowered his chin and mouth under the water. He'd be noticed sooner or later, but he didn't want to get out of the pool. He was only wearing shorts, and he didn't want to be looked at, observed, or assessed. Most of all, he didn't want questions. James didn't recognize anyone there, and that meant whatever safety net he had of familiarity in situations like these was gone again. He was back at square one.

He sighed into the water through his nose, making little bubbles.

Alyss Fulladottir: Alyss is a shorter girl, about 5'6 or 5'7. She has long brown hair, and piercing grey eyes. Her face is pretty, and she has well toned muscles. She also has tiny teardrop tattoos running down her arms which flicker and glisten with silver if you look hard enough. She is about 17 and is wearing a nondescript black and white bikini with a loose cover-up over her bathing suit.

Alyss lay curled up on the warm, prickly grass. Where on Earth was she? Opening her eyes, she got to her feet, surveying her surroundings with an astonished look. This was not at all what Alyss had expected.

She was used to mansions now, but this one seemed even bigger than Tony's and she quickly scanned the area, her mind automatically cataloging her surroundings. Three girls and a boy standing near each other.

Alyss wondered what she was doing here. It wasn't Loki, she knew that much. He would have teleported her into the woods, left her to fend for herself.Was it? No, it couldn't be. Yet, she felt a shiver of apprehension run down her spine.

She slowly walked over to the little group, her hand instinctively reaching for one of her daggers. Oh gods. She looked down at herself. What was she wearing, and where were her daggers? There was a reason she didn't wear bikinis, and she mentally thanked who ever had brought them here for providing her with a cover-up.
Breathing deeply, she forced herself to continue onward, every muscle tensed.
She stopped a little distance from the group and watched, unconsciously playing with her hair.

Welcome to the roleplay, everyone!

Also, I just realized I forgot to include something about Benji. It's probably not obvious from faraway, but he's kind of ripped underneath his swimming shirt - and you can see it because the shirt is that tight kind of fabric.

Benji gave the girl who had approached him a shaky smile.

"I'm okay," he said. She was younger than him. Everyone here looked younger than he did, save for the man in the pool. Benji knew he shouldn't have stared, but the man's body was littered with scars. He wasn't sure if he should find comfort in that - or any of this, for that matter.

At the very least, this wasn't Daniel's doing. No one here seemed as nervous as he did. His gaze traveled around the backyard. The girl who had stopped a short distance from the others and was currently playing with her hair might have been an exception; she had reached for something that wasn't there.

His secret was safe.

Benji let out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding.

He was safe.

...No, that wasn't right. He was safe from the threat of Daniel and his hunters, but he still didn't know why he was here. He didn't even remember leaving the woods, much less arriving here and getting changed.

He just hoped he'd be able to submit his article on time...

While Benji had been mulling over why he could have possibly been brought to this place, he had slowly been drifting over to the water's edge. It hadn't been intentional. It never was. But he snapped out of the trance the moment he sat down on the very corner of the shallow end of the pool, feet dangling in the water in front of the light.

Benji immediately jerked them back out.

He hated the way the water clung to his skin, and he hated how he couldn't resist the glow of the pool. It was going to be difficult fighting the urge in a place like this. There were so many lights, and in so many different colors...

Focus, he reminded himself. He was good about not slipping. He didn't do it when he was working on his articles, so he could handle it here, too.

Genevieve gagged a little on the drinks. As pretty as they looked, there was definitely some alcohol in them. She drank with caution. Living in Paris for her whole life, she began drinking at only 16. Of course, Gigi stayed away from stronger alcohol, and stuck mostly to champagne and sweet wine. This was something else, like tequila. Genevieve only downed a few sips before setting it down. She didn’t want to look weird, not drinking after only one sip.

Her blue eyes looked around for a seat, and luckily, they were all empty. Trying not to acknowledge the others, Gigi went to the lounge chair nearest to the pool. She slipped off the cover up, and took off the unnecessary wedge sandals that clad her feet. Taking a deep breath, Genevieve walked over to the steps at the shallow end of the pool. She waded in with hesitation.

Kate rolled her eyes at the back of the blonde who almost pointedly ignored her as she went to the pool. Prickly little rich girl.

Kate's gaze wandered over to the other person in the pool. A man who looked a bit like he'd lost a fight with a lawnmower, burns and all. The other blondie, with the ponytail of unbearably long, silky ramen noodles, was with the dark-haired man Kate had seen before, both of them sitting beside the pool. There was another girl wandering about looking out of place and uncomfortable, but she was just as annoyingly useless as everyone else.

Why couldn't Tallulah be here too?

This was as close to her element as one could get this far from the lagoon, or wherever it was Lully vanished to during the day while Kate was tending to matters on her ship. It wasn't like Kate couldn't use someone to chat this out with. Preferably someone with half a brain and experience being yanked off-world by sparkle-snorting wannabe dimension-lords.

In the end, Kate found herself going to perch on the edge of the pool, dangling her legs in the water. She was a distance away from any of the others, scowling at the vague everything about this, and hungry.

She hadn't eaten in a few days, had she?

Lully would have a solution to that.



Queenie went to sit next to him, crossing her legs under her instead of letting them get wet. It was easier to get up faster with them like this. She absently pulled her hair over her shoulder, her hand brushing against the cool metal of her choker as she did. At least I get to keep that this time.

"Are you sure you're alright?" she asked, fiddling with the ends. She'd cataloged everyone here. The majority looked like they could hold their own in a fight, and those who didn't still held the appearance of someone who could be well-trained.

That was worrying.

What did a place like this want with a bunch of fighters? It, or they, hadn't taken Briar, which could be proof that they weren't looking to set everyone here against each other, or against some bigger problem that they felt entitled to have solved by people who didn't choose to be here. If they wanted someone who wouldn't lose, they'd pick her. Everyone else did.

She let it look like her attention was still on the guy next to her, who looked to be several years older than she was, and said before she could answer his question, "Oh, sorry, I'm Queenie." Otherworld, no need for a codename. She extended her hand for him to shake.

He shook the extended hand.

"I'm Benji," he said. He still felt jumpy and uneasy, but he knew he had to temporarily push those feelings aside if he wanted to get through this. The adrenaline would fade soon; Daniel would just become a distant memory. Whoever had brought them here was certainly a threat, but Benji could handle anything other than Daniel.

He took another breath, imagining the tension and worry washing away.

It helped, a little.

"I am," he said. He held his face in his hands for a moment, letting out a breath that bordered on a tired sigh before he put them back down. "I've...just had a long day. My job's been...challenging the past week, and suddenly ending up here isn't helping."

He looked over at her.

"...Do you know where we are?" he asked. "I was in Point Pleasant before ending up here."

She shook her head, "I'm afraid not." There was a hint of something behind her voice, a bit of worry, panic, masterfully slipped between syllables. Let him think she's as concerned about this development as he is. Let him think she's hiding it. Because that's what people did when they panicked. They tried to stay calm and hide it.

Of course, it benefitted her more to let him think she was as freaked out by this all as he was.

Alyss approached the blond haired girl in the shallows, feeling cautious. There was a reason they were all here, but Alyss didn't understand what it was, and that made her wary. A lifetime of expecting the unknown had imprinted its mark on Alyss and she had learned to never trust others.

"Do you have any idea where we are?" she asked the girl, sitting down and dangling her bare feet in the water. She had noticed with dismay that most of the others seemed to have shoes, even if they were of the useless flip flop kind, and she wondered why she didn't have any.

Genevieve turned around to face the girl, the tip of her long, blonde ponytail dragging on the surface of the water. “I don’t have the slightest clue,” She responded, her voice full of questioning as well. Gigi flashed one of her dazzling, perfect smiles, her full pink lips parting to show her pearly whites. “I’m Genevieve Glistene. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Her tan, soft hand extended to her, showing that those hands had never worked a day in their life.

Alyss held out her rough, slightly scarred hand and shook the girl's, offering a tentative smile. At least one person here seemed nice. "I'm Alyss," she said. "It's nice to met you too, although I would have preferred that we had met elsewhere." She gestured to the landscape around them. "It's kind of weird that we're all here. It doesn't seem like the typical place to hold people prisoner."

Gigi snorted an unladylike snort. “Oh, excuse me,” She covered her mouth. “Anyways, yes, that would be nice to meet under better, uh, circumstances,” Genevieve cleared her throat. “I mean, sure we don’t know where we are, but, it’s quite nice here if I do say so myself.”
