The panther didn't know what to make of "strange, random forms," but Leon had that tone of voice that people liked to use when they really didn't want to talk about something. Besides, Lunis was already fixating on the idea of Leon taking the form of objects.
"How is that even possible?" the panther said. "Is it just a cake, an orb, or a sword, or can it be any object?"

"Most people don't like being grilled on the extents of their powers," Emily warned, taking out another candy bar and unwrapping it. She was thankful she was dead, for once, when she found it unmelted. Her living friends always had that issue with body heat. It seemed terribly inconvenient.
"What does it feel like when you do that?" Lunis said, doing his best to ignore Emily. "If you were a sword, would you feel how sharp your blade is? Would it hurt if someone dented you?"

"It would," he said. "I'm still me, even if I don't look like it. And I guess it just feels like myself - I can't really describe it. I haven't done many objects before but this-" He turned back into the older Fae form he had been using when the conversation started. "-feels the same as my actual body. It's just bigger with a deeper voice and more defined Fae features."
Nubes tapped his chin with a claw. "You seem to have an exceptional sense of self, regardless of the form you take," he said. "If it does not make you uncomfortable, can I ask if there's any form that doesn't make you feel like yourself, as you put it?"

"What kinds of objects have you turned into?" Lunis said. "Did anyone ever think you were just an object?"

"It's depended on the situation," Leon weakly said, his mind already flashing back to said situations. Almost all of them involved them - if he brought those situations up, he might have to bring up his time with Perseus. "And they always have, if that was what I was trying to do."
“I don’t mean to interrupt,” Emily said between bites of chocolate, “but it might be a good idea to start figuring out how, exactly, all of us got here. I’ve got some kids to get back to protecting, and I’m sure y’all have your own responsibilities back in your worlds as well.”
Nubes nodded. "Well, some of us have responsibilities," he said, glancing at Lunis, "But that's a good point. We should be close to the food court, anyhow - that might be a great place to start looking for answers."

"Actually," Magic said from the very front, "we're here."
Leon and Kane came to a stop beside them, looking out at the eerily abandoned food court. It had been one thing to see it briefly on the screens - it was another to be standing among a place that should have been filled with people and seeing no one.
"Everything still has food," Magic said. "I checked most of them, anyways - but I don't think there's going to be any exceptions. It's like this is some kind of backdrop to a movie, but everything's real."
